#Amiga 1200 & Stuff FS
Message #178808
Michael, If you are talking just the 1200 with no hard drive, no 030 or SCSI, I would have to say that I can't sell it like that. At the VERY least, I need to sell the 1200 and HD together. For that, I would sell it for $550. At…
Serial Access from CLI?
Message #159824
Hi. I just got a new modem (PPI V.FC) and it supports a clock. I'm wondering if there is a way in the startup-sequence to make a call of the system time and then send an AT%TIME HHMMSS command to the serial port so it will automatically have the correct…

PC-Task and HD Partition
Message #155883
I have set up a hard drive partition of 20MB on my Amiga 1200. I access this partition through a DOS type according to the PC-Task documentation. (I am using PC-Task 2.0 BTW) I can access it fine with PC-Task but if possible, I would also like to access it…
Sound Machine will play and convert the compressed WAV files but does not handle stereo files. You can download the Aerosmith song in mono and play it with Sound Machine… should be in the libraries or is on FF975 I think… Jonathan Schmidt – On AutoPilot from CompuServe Land

I was wondering if anyone knows of a program that can play/convert compressed stereo WAV files. Sound Machine will play/convert compressed mono WAVs and Play16 will play non-compressed stereo WAVs but I need to play or convert compressed stereo WAVs. Vertical Banding Success
Message #137543
And since I am on a 1200 anyway, that wouldn't work. I definately would not mess with traces on the MB. I don't trust myself. I did use the 1MB hack on my old 500 but that was after I had a friend do it to his and he showed…
Vertical Banding Success
Message #137394
The fix is definately worth a person's time. I am usually wary of hardware "hacks" so to speak. I figured that since this wasn't a hack for the 1200 or 4000 directly but instead the monitor adaptor, I would give it a try! BEAUTIFUL! Jon
#Vertical Banding Success
Message #137348
I just wanted everyone to know about my success story with the vertical banding file here in the libraries for Hardware. I have a 1200 and the vertical banding has been annoying me ever since I upgraded from my 500 with a FFV. I downloaded the file which is as…
Ah… that explains it! Thanks, Frank. Jon
#Help w/Montage24&PSfonts
Message #39647
Hi, Just got myself that really awesome CG program… Montage 24. I have a 1200 030/50/50 system. I can't figure out how to get the program to use Postscript fonts, though. The PS button is greyed out. Montage fonts work fine but I would like to use PS as well.…
Wanted: Genloc
Message #134989
Wanted: An inexpensive genloc for use for making home movies. Must be able to run out of the RGB port as I have a 1200. Quality must be good but doesn't have to be professional grade. Thanks, Jonathan Schmidt – On AutoPilot from CompuServe Land
I'm running 6.1 which is the latest I have seen anywhere. Also I've tried 5.5 and 5.0 both with the same problem. I used to be able to use it because I remember getting reports on the graphics speed nearing the 4000. I don't know why it's not working now.…
#AIBB won't work w/1230
Message #75282
Hi, I just installed my GVP 1230 SII 50Mhz board and I wanted to run AIBB to see how it stacks up. However, when I run it, it locks up the whole machine. I also have the SCSI adaptor if that makes a difference. I have made sure that I…
Hmmm…. then I'm stumped… Jonathan Schmidt – On AutoPilot from CompuServe Land
No, I'm not using Hypercache, I'm using one called Dynamicache. I have not had any problems with lockups on anything else yet but I haven't been using it long. I tried turning it off as yousuggested and it didn't work either. I can't figure out what's wrong! Jonathan Schmidt -…
Alan, I have the same drive and the exact same performance. I usually don't go by the tests, though. First thing to do is get yourself a good cache program. This will make a BIG difference. Second, you have to remember that the IDE controller is processor dependent so on…
#Help running AIBB??!!
Message #132876
For some reason, I cannot run AIBB 6.1 on my machine. I have the library installed even though I'm running 3.0 and all it does is lock up on me when it gets to the main AIBB screen. I know I have run it on my machine before but I…
GVP 1230+ SII Anyone?
Message #132162
Denny, Yes, it certainly does say it well! I was very excited to see such a big write up about it. I will definately be getting one as soon as I scrape together the cashola! Thanks, Jon
I can address the CD300 drive question. In the latest AW, they reviewed the two available CD ROM file systems. Either ASIM CDFS or Xetec CDx will recognize that drive. The article and I personally recommend the CDFS. Jonathan Schmidt – On AutoPilot from CompuServe Land
Thanks a bunch! I will be ordering my card pretty soon! Thanks, Jon

Hi… I'm seriously thinking about buying the 1230 Turbo+ Series II. I am wondering if the 50 Mhz version is a full 030 and not an EC. As I do beta testing, I need the MMU to run Enforcer. Thanks, Jonathan Schmidt – On AutoPilot from CompuServe Land
