#QB6:Non-US Users Message #72010
Randy, Quarterback 6 sounds good. However, have you sent upgrade notices to registered users outside the US? Perhaps you have and it has not yet arrived, but I have never yet had an official upgrade notice from US companies I am registered with; please forgive my scepticism. What do I…
#110220- #On the Ball Update Message #110398
From: Michael Buckland-Smith Amiga User Forum · New Uploads August 14, 1993 10:42 AM
Something wrong? Your title describes "On The Ball" as a calendar and notebook, but the text describes a disk-utility. Which is it?
#107415 Problem With Term 3.3 Message #107422
Thanks, Christopher, problem solved! Michael.
#Problem With Term 3.3 Message #107411
I have been using Olaf Barthel's excellent Term 3.3 for a few weeks now, having upgraded from NComm. Very impressed but puzzled by one thing. When I log into CIS via the direct London node number, the first two log-on instructions (to select CIS and give my membership number) appear…
#60226 Arexx & DOpus Message #60359
Thanks, but what is the address of your English office? When I upgraded to version 4, I did so entirely by e-mail on this forum with an office I seem to recollect was based either in France or Germany. Why can't I do the same now? Michael Buckland-Smith, London.
#60291 CygnusEd Pro Upgrade Message #60358
From: Michael Buckland-Smith Amiga Vendor Forum · ASDG July 17, 1993 7:08 AM
Thank you for your reply. I have both the original disk and manual, but I live in England. Do I really have to use surface mail? Your competitors in this forum usually supply upgrades direct, or via a European-based outlet, provided proof of ownership can be provided, charged against a…
#60134 #Arexx & DOpus Message #60207
Jon, I note that you are already upto version 4.03! I am a registered user. I have only had my copy of version 4 for a few months. Why no announcement or offers to your registered users for further upgrades? Michael Buckland-Smith, London
From: Michael Buckland-Smith Amiga Vendor Forum · ASDG July 13, 1993 6:29 PM
I am also a registered user of CygnusEd Pro, interested in upgrading. I bought my copy over two years ago here in London. How do I go about obtaining a copy? Michael Buckland-Smith
Randy, Thanks. Looking forward to receiving it. Michael.
James, Please confirm that your company received the fax I sent on 23 April, giving proof of ownership of QB Tools 1.5 (scan of disk label, with registration number) and ordering QB Tools DeLuxe. Your CIS message 54431 refers. Grateful to know when this is due to ship. Regards, Michael…
#54886 Why No Reply? Message #55343
Not to worry, Randy. James Bayliss has now replied. Michael Buckland-Smith
Thank you, James. I'll do that. Michael Buckland-Smith.
#Why No Reply? Message #54850
Why No Reply! James, I am still waiting for a reply to my 54253 of 11 April about Quarterback Tools de-luxe. Please chase. Michael Buckland-Smith
James, Sounds great. I am a long-time user of QBTools1.5 and I have registered, but experience suggests that registration details sometimes unaccountably get lost between London and US-based companies this has happened to me before. Grateful, therefore, if you would confirm that I am recorded in your database as a…
Wayne, I'll give it a try. Michael.
From: Michael Buckland-Smith Amiga Vendor Forum · Transactor February 26, 1993 7:39 PM
Thanks, Wayne; worked fine. I was hung up on the idea that I needed two argument functions to define the files to be compared. The one {F} works, although only in the same directory, as you had indicated. Michael Buckland-Smith.

QB Problems Message #50395
New Horizons or Central Coast, I am still waiting for a reply to my #49082 of 28 December, which I chased with #49624 of 9 January. Please…. Michael Buckland-Smith.
Wonder why you have not yet replied to my message 49082 of 28 December? Please at least confirm receipt. Michael Buckland-Smith
#83450 Ncomm Up/Downloading Message #83521
I doubt it, Jon. When Version 2 came out, I E-mailed him (not via CompuServe) to let him know about the bug. I received a brief reply in acknowledgement, informing me he was not a member of CompuServe and implying (or at least I inferred) that he was not very…
QB 5.03 Problems. Message #49082
I am a registered owner of Quarterback 5. Some days ago, I was using version 5.03 to backup my 42 MB hard disk, in my standard Amiga 2000. It had taken 27 floppies and about 4 hours, at maximum compression. Just before the end, a requester appeared, asking for the…
ProCalc Problems. Message #82948
From: Michael Buckland-Smith Amiga User Forum · Business Apps December 28, 1992 1:25 PM
Philip, I am a registered owner of ProCalc, which I had bought from my usual suppliers here in London. However, I have had several problems with it and I sent you an E-mail message some weeks ago about this via CompuServe, to which you have not replied. The problems are…
#81877 Ncomm Up/Downloading Message #82816
From: Michael Buckland-Smith Amiga User Forum · Communications December 27, 1992 1:19 PM
Steve, NComm2.0 does NOT work with Compuserve-B when set up to use the p program's internal switch; it has to be implemented as an External E-XPR protocol, using the Options menu. Even then, you may find that it takes several tries before the program will download, depending on which version…
#48907 Upgrad info for Opus Message #49018
From: Michael Buckland-Smith Amiga Vendor Forum · Transactor December 27, 1992 1:02 PM
Martin, Just read your description of the new version of Directory Opus; sounds very good. However, although I am a registered user of 3.41, I live in London, so how do I order my upgrade? Will you be mailing regitered users world-wide? Michael Buckland-Smith.

Betty, I thought about AutoPilot when it was first announced, but was put off by a statement in Amiga Vendors that it only works in Interlace. Unfortunately, my terminal does not have a flicker-fixer and Interlace drives me round the bend! Am I wrong; will AP actually work in Hires?…
#41281 QB5.02 The 3D look? Message #41320
Thanks, Dan. I expect you are right. I am also using a preferred colour set. Will try. Regards, Michael.
#41192 QB5.02 The 3D look? Message #41247
Sorry, Dom, not at all sure how that happened. Regards, Michael
#41226 QB5.02 The 3D look? Message #41246
Thanks, Dan, I'll try. Regards, Michael.
#41174 #QB5.02 The 3D look? Message #41187
Rick, Like Dan, I find that 5.02 runs without a "3-D" look. Furthermore, the window will not scroll when backing up to show which files are being processed (I have'nt tried yet to restore), unless I resize periodically. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the new version. I backed up…
#39777 Quarterback 5 Message #39810
Thanks, Julius. I had also found it soon after posting my query. Michael
Chris, default works when it works, if you follow me. Michael
Hello, Chris; you are not alone! If you check back over recent weeks, you will see a thread on the same problem between Nancy Devitt and me. I have managed to contact the author of NComm2.0 via Internet and he told me he had not tested the CompuServe-B code in…
#57131 NComm Help, Please Message #57483
Thank you for your reply, Nancy, Edmonton sounds fine; hope to see it some day. I haven't managed to get Term to work; seems I have'nt enough memory (2 Megs but some of this is taken by some utilities run in background). I'll try Whap when I can download it.…
Edward, Many thanks; also to Darren and Dennis who told me much the same. I shall not touch HDBackup with a barge-pole, as we say in England! I used to use a very good PD backup program called MR-Backup, but the latest version does not run with WB2.04. Quaterback should…
#57057 #NComm Help, Please Message #57065
Yes, I think you are right, although I am considering a new German Comms. program called Term, rather than BB. I have also thought about Whap! Is it worth it? So you are Canadian? I like what I've seen of the country, but I have only really seen Ottawa, with…
Edward, in what way does HDBackup fail to work properly? I have only recently upgraded to WB2.04 and so far I have only taken the one back-up, using HDBackup. It seemed to work OK, except I noticed it miscounted the number of floppies I was using by one, around disk…
#56752 NComm Help, Please Message #56805
Hi, Nancy; in a way, I am glad to hear you are having this problem, because I am as well and was beginning to wonder whether the fault was mine. I take it you are using Version 2? Earlier versions worked fine for me. I have managed to contact the…

#22152 #Help! No Message. Message #22154
Thanks, Steve, but I still do not quite understand why the message is no longer displayed in the SELECT MESSAGES menu. Is there some protocol I am unaware of? Michael.
#Help! No Message. Message #22150
What gives? I posted a message last night asking for help with a problem I was experiencing, having just upgraded my Amiga 2000 to WB 2.0, and it has been wiped. Why?
I have just upgraded my 2000 to WB2.0. It works fine except I cannot get NComm 2.0 to download anymore from CompuServe using Quick B, either on my original settings or any variations I try. Anyone help me? Michael.
#51962 Fonts Message #52341
Thanks, Doug, that is a great help. So it is worthwhile upgrading to WB 2 to get Compugraphic fonts, by the sound of it. I have not done so yet; reluctant to take the plunge and risk my trusty 2000 with something new! Regards, Michael from London.
#51868 Fonts Message #52340
Thanks, John, look forward to reading that. Regards, Michael, from London.
#51997 Fonts Message #52337
Thanks, Steve, but I'm in rainy old London and I don't think we get that here. Regards, Michael.
Fonts Message #51838
Amiga Fonts. Can some kind soul please explain the difference between Compugraphic Postscript, Adobe and standard Amiga bit-mapped fonts. And which can I use with my Amiga 2000 (still WB 1.3 but soon to be upgraded to WB 2) and my HP 500C colour printer. Michael.

Well…it does work, but if the manual is not going to be changed, there are going to be a lot more puzzled users: and puzzled users end up being disgruntled customers. Don't you think you had better have a word with someone in the maual writing department? MJBS

Hi, Perry….sorry to be late in responding. Question is this. I have been using CED Pro2 for several months now and generally very pleased with it. However, I cannot launch the main program from cold using Ed. Only way I have found is to include ced -r in my Startup-Sequence…
