I'm looking for a board that will perform similar to a Targa+, in that it will allow a dual-framebuffer (two images) setup to blend or fade between two images. You could do this on a Targa+ 32 or 64, but I'm looking for other hardware that can do this as…

Vibrant for Cirrus 5434
Message #105638
All Cirrus mode codes are upward/downward compatible, so you should be able to choose a Cirrus 542x selection for the 5434. -Chris Panacea

What version of RCTURBOD.EXP is this? (Check the disk.) If you are using a version of TurboDLD before version 1.02J, there isn't anything you can do to get it to work with 3DS 3.0, you have to get a newer version from an OEM or from us. -Chris

You mentioned that you couldn't get the Vibrant 3DS drivers to work, but I'm pretty sure the Cirrus board should have VESA VBE support in its BIOS, therefore, instead of VIBRANT or RCPADI for the display type in VIBCFG, you could choose VESA. -Chris Panacea

If you are trying to use any Panacea driver below version 1.02J, you need to get an update in order to use 3DS Rel 3.
I use it occasionally with a Diamond SS24X in hi-res mode under OS 2/2.1. Works great! What questions do you have? -Chris Panacea

There is one over in the ACAD forum call Q387. I've used it with AutoCAD R12 on a 486SX we did some drivers for, and it worked without a hitch. The demo version lets you use it for 20 minutes per session, then you have to reboot your machine to…
In regards to MAKE utils, we use one called Opus Make and its the best make I've seen. -Chris Panacea
You might need to get a new version of the VESA TSR for the card. Early TSRs from IIT had some major problems, but Hercules fixed most of them.

The VESA driver is used to switch into and out of graphics mode.
Have you added any .DRV files to the RESOURCE subdirectory? I've seen misbehaved drivers crash during the SCREEN SIZE operation.
All cards based on Cirrus Logic chipsets ship with our TurboDLD Classic ADI driver. If the driver didn't come with your card, you can download the demo version from this forum, the filename is TRBDEM.EXE. The demo is a fully working version for 3DS and ACAD, and gives you access…

We don't currently let you chose a seperate matarials editor resolution. We use whatever you have configured for the display resolution. The TurboDLD 1.02 from Diamond are essentially the same thing under 3DS. Under AutoCAD however, the release from Diamond is significantly different. Glad to hear that you are up…

Dan, We upgraded to NU v7 right when we heard it was available, just to see what kind of cool new stuff they added to NDOS. -Chris
Mike, I just tried the TurboDLD Lite that is on the BBS and everything worked fine for me. I configured my display resolution as 800x600x65k and render restolution 800x600x16mil. Pardon me if you've already posted this, but can you list the following: What are DSPADI, RDPADI, and RCPADI set to…
I read your reply, and it definetly sounds like you are using an old version of the driver. The Stealth Pro was shipping with the original Stealth driver for awhile. The latest driver that Diamond has is 1.02, that should fix everything. Good luck! -Chris Panacea
Mike, Hmmmmmm…..sounds pretty weird to me. I've got a Viper in my machine right now, so I'm going to go get the TurboDLD Lite off the BBS to see if I can get it running on my machine. I've got a Micronics motherboard and I am running NDOS as well,…

Mike, The TurboDLD Lite (RCTURBOL.EXP) should function exactly the same under 3D Studio as the TurboDLD Deluxe (RCTURBOD.EXP). Please let me know if you have any more problems. -Chris Panacea

Mike, What kind of problems are you having with our driver? I must have missed the beginning of this thread. We fully support all resolutions on the Viper, up to 800x600x24bit if you have 2meg VRAM. -Chris Panacea
Jose, If you have the latest drivers from Diamond, v1.02, then you can use that resolution with your Stealth Pro. Or, you can download TRBDEM.EXE from this forum, it is our FREE 3D Studio Driver which fully support the Stealth Pro. -Chris Panacea
#XGA 3rd Party driver
Message #55237
Judy, We sell a driver for Animator Pro that works on XGA boards. The driver is called PanaMate. Call our sales number at 1800-729-7420 to get more information and to place your order 🙂 -Chris Panacea
Alan, With the VIPER you must make sure that you answer NO to the question at config time that says something like "Do you have a VGA or SVGA card?" 3D Studio is looking for certain VGA sync signals that just aren't there when your using the P9000 which on…
Brian, While I agree with you 100% that your driver accelerates 3D Studio, although maybe not as fast as you claim, I must disagree with your statement that "Both the Panacea driver and the Vesa driver slow down 3D Studio." Compared to running a Vibrant driver under certain situations, our…
Mary, Look in your config.sys file for lines that look similar to this: DEVICE=C:\QEMM\QEMM386.SYS or DEVICE=C:\386MAX\386MAX.SYS These are two different 3rd party memory managers that might be causing the problem. -Chris Panacea
Are you using a memory manager like QEMM? If so, you might need to exclude the BIOS range of the card. The easiest way to determine if that is the problem is just to exclude A000-DFFF and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then you can narrow…
Don, You certainly should be able to use 24bit render and 8bit display/me. When the 1st & 2nd configurations come up, choose the same resolution (we currently require that your resolution for 3D Editor & Materials Editor remain the same). On the third configuration, it should say stuff about render…
MediaVision acquired Pellucid. -Chris
Phil, The file is TRBDEM.EXE and can be found in LIB 5. -Chris Panacea
You might also want to check out Pellucid's (MediaVision actually) Pro Graphics 1280 board, which was announced and demonstrated at A/E/C. It does 1280x1024x24bit with ADI 4.2 TurboDLD Classic drivers for 3DS & ACAD and costs probably 1/3 the Irisvision, although don't quote me on the price, I think it…
If you end up heading north, you could drop some of those autographed books off by us here at Panacea in Londonderry, NH 🙂
Tom, I just checked the problem out. You will not be able to use the CIRRUS.EXE driver that you downloaded. You're card still has an ACUMOUS BIOS. You can try to contact Cirrus at 510-226-2128 to see if they'll send you a BIOS update. The CIRRUS driver that you are…
Nathan, Sorry, but you and you're dealer are mistaken about Panacea drivers not allowing playback of a .FLC file. Which ADI driver you are using has absolutely no affect on whether or not you can play a hi-res flic from 3DS. The Yost Group put code into 3DS to playback…
Tom, Thanks for the info, I'll check this problem out and get back to you. -Chris Panacea
Morgan, We certainly do support the #9 GXE. We had one of our demo stations running that board at A/E/C Systems '93. If you would like more information about our TurboDLD product, which supports the GXE, you can call 1-800-729-7420. Or, you can try the product out by download TRBDEM.EXE…
Ed, You can find OZCis in the IBMCOMM area. -Chris Panacea
Tom, Sorry I didn't explain it completely. Cirrus actually acquired Acumos, therefore, the AVGA chips have been transformed into Cirrus chips. The AVGA1 became the Cirrus GD5401, but you should be able to choose 5402 as your board type. You will be presented options that are not available with your…

Message #46601
The drivers for this chip are provided by Panacea as well. You can download them from our BBS. The file is called CIRRUS.EXE and the number for the BBS is 603-432-5193. Good Luck 🙂 -Chris Panacea
Alex, To fix this, you can download the TRBDEM.EXE from this forum. This is a completely FREE!!!!! 3D Studio driver that we are providing. It will let you run the ATI Ultra @ 1024 x 768 with colored mapping icon and 2d shaper arrows. Good Luck! -Chris Panacea

You can download the TRBDEM.EXE file to run on the Mona Lisa board. I tested the driver with the board about four or five months ago and it worked fine then. Just make sure that the DLDEXT.RLM file gets put into the directory that your TIGA environment variable is set…
Brent, is there a particular reason why you want to use this card? -Chris Panacea
Ron, as others have discovered, Diamond's tech support isn't always in step with the rest of the world. Seeing as how they have no idea that Diamond already has 1.02A, which has full support for the Stealth board in all resoltuions, right now your only options are to 1) download…
