What image formats does the Toaster support? What can be used in Toaster Paint? Lightwave? Thanks, Wes
#Shareware gif to Iff
Message #43847
Is there a shareware 24 bit gif to iff converter in this library? Thanks Wes
No I don't have AdPro or any other image processing program. Any recomendations? Wes
How old is Hijaak 2? I checked in the program and there is no reference to IFF 24 bit. I think I may give in and get an image processer for the Amiga. Wes
Thanks I will try this in the short term. Obviously I can't wait for lightwave to render every image I need to use ( over 100 for this project ). I guess it is time to give in and get the image processer. Am recomendations? Wes
Duncan Thanks for the info. I have a couple of questions…… 1. Where is Paint Shop Pro? It is made by the same source as JASC Media Center but it is not in the same library. 2. Tell me more about the null modem idea. I have ProComm Plus on…
#*.IFF files – TPaint
Message #92263
I need to use graphics created on a PC on my Toaster. I tried a test and it did not work. Here are the steps I used. Maybe somebody can help me identify my error. 1. Convert 256-color GIF graphic to IFF. (I used a new shareware program called JASC…
LW – How Many Poly's?
Message #89279
Does the number of Poly's on a simple shape (a flat plane, a simple box) effect how that object will render? Wes
Don, I'll start the mouse surgery tonight. 🙂 Thanks for the instructions. Wes
#I hate my mouse!
Message #151389
I need some pointers on improving mouse performance. My mouse sticks when I drag it towards myself (down). The ball is loose in its socket. Is this thing shot or can I fix it? Wes
I think it is published by the Waite Group. I don't have the book near by so I don't have the author's name handy. The Waite Group has some great book/software combinations. I highly recomend this book. You may want to sent a message to Alan Henry in this forum.…
'030 vs. '040
Message #82969
What is the real speed difference between an '030 and an '040 in terms of speed? 2x, 5x, 10x? How much of the speed dif. is due to the processor speed. I have an '030 33. Wes
Thanks for the information. I am sure that this new tool will serve my needs quite well. Wes
I'd love to get more RAM. The thing is I want more RAM in my Amiga as well. In fact I could use it there more. (I hope it will speed up my lightwave render times) I will eventualy get more RAM, as soon as I convince my boss at…
Peter I feel like a dope. I have a decomression program that will do the trick. I guess you re-learn something every day. Wes
#Imagine 2.0 Amiga/PC
Message #82698
I want to use some objects downloaded from Cserve AmigaArts Forum on my PC version of Imagine. I tried to load the objects (*.lha) into the detail or forms section and I get a message that states that the files are not TDDD. What am I doing wrong? Wes
#3D Modeling Lab
Message #41346
Alan, I bought the book last week. I love it. I have a Toaster and love it but I travel quite a bit for business and my Toaster wont fit in the overhead compartment. 🙂 This book allows me to sharpen my skills and work on models on my PC…

Imagine 2.0 to Lightwave
Message #82415
I just got the 3D Modeling Lab book and Imagine 2.0 for IBM. I bought it for two reasons. 1. It looks (and is so far) to be a great resource to a novice 3D artist. 2. I travel quite a bit and I can't bring my Toaster with me.…
Imagine 2.0
Message #82412
A couple of months ago I posted a ? about the existance of a cheap modeler for the IBM PC that supports a file format also supported by lightwave. I have found a book/program that I believe meets my needs. The book is titled – 3D MODELING LAB by Philip…
Where was this string before I bought my sanyo? 🙁 Actually I like the deck and use it daily. Even if I move past it as other options become affordable I will be able to use it in other ways (it does have a nice complement of features that are…
Jim Thanks. I read the part about the color bars in the framebuffers before but I didnt know if that extended to the tape as well. Do you (or anyone else) have a good way to look for dropouts in code. On the Sanyo 'DEBG 9' (I think thats the…
I gave up and rerendered it. For all I know it could be that I was rendering the wrong frame. How, I don't know……but the second time I made sure that the code was ok on the tape. Is there any reason why a frame will not render or a…
Zeddock, I know your message was to Jim but I have some info on editing with sanyo. I was at Image World yest. and TAO has a new version of the Editizer called EDIT-SAN. A B Roll or cuts only. Cheaper ($1895 vs. $2495 list) than a full blown unit,…
Jim The frame is recorded, it just isn't flowing with the rest of the sequence. Their is some downward motion and the frame will be in a lower possition than the rest of the frames. Wes
#Dropout Fix
Message #80456
I am currently rendering to tape. (Until I get a new hard drive, 3.0/1 ate my available hd space) I am field rendering. After the scene was done rendering one frame had not recorded. (I checked the SMPTE code and it looks ok but it didn't render anyway) I have…
#Resolution??
Message #80186
I have just upgraded to 3.1 and I'm wondering which lightwave resolution to render to. Is there an advantage to using high (w/ or w/out anti-alising) v. medium with anit-a? What do the pros use? I want the best result but I don't want to wait forever if I don't…

#Best S-VHS Tape ?
Message #77958
What is the best S-VHS tape for Single Frame Animation. I use a Sanyo GVR S950. Wes
Jim As you know from the other topic (software failure) I have been looking all over for a solution to this situation. I have not tried the new string for the controller, yet. I did talk to the local rep and he opened up a new area of concern….. could…
Thanks Kent and Jim, I'll try that new string. Is Sanyo's version of bcd going to need any adjustments? Wes
Jim I don't know. I'll check where the ram is. I bought this thing used and I assume that it is all on the GVP. All of the slots (I think) are open after my TBC. Wes
Jim Nope never crashes on a framestore. Wes
#Sanyo GVR-S950
Message #77868
I assume that there are a few Sanyo owners out there. Have any of you had problems with drop-outs? Any info or sanyo pointers would be great. Wes
I just got off the phone with NEW TEK . They say I'm probably having a communication error between the Amiga/Toaster/Sanyo. They said to do two things. First- inactivate my fast ram on my GVP'030. Second- Save frames to Ram then send to tape and the single frame controler should…
Trent I finally got the animation done. But almost ten tries and 2.5 days for 120 frames is a little too much. I will start from scratch and see if I can isolate the problem. If anyone out there has a brain storm I would love to hear it. Wes
Jonathan- Do you believe that the problem is a time or delay issue? I render to tape and I thought the record comand has a delay type feature to allow the machine to put the image on the tape? Thanks Wes
Kent Thanks Is there a resolution or quality dif between rgb and framestore. Also I have been rendering to tape not to my hd and then to tape. Does this cause problems? Thanks I will look into Pegger. Wes P.S. My day job gets in the way too. The nerve…
Thanks Trent, I have 13 meg. Wes
Kent- To tape. Sanyo to bw exact. I thought that might be the problem. I really hope that I wont have to trig every frame. I want this thing to do anims while I do other things like sleep. Wes
