#Insider is it! Message #58603
From: Fadi Khulusi/MicroP Tech The Amiga Forum · Hardware March 12, 1987 1:43 AM
I am giving an honest unbiased opinion when I say that I suggest to anyone interested in expanding the memory of their Amigas. The product is solid, works very well, is fully compatible, installs in minutes, and sports a very attractive price tag. Best of all it is backed by…

It seems that the box plugs in the joystick port, and the software assumes that it is plugged in the second port. I wonder if they are using the A/D converters that are built in the Amiga? Hummm… At any rate, I bought the darn thing today and I still…

What do you mean by "all are in stereo?" My friend who just bought one said that the software supplied with it allows only for one track recording and one track playback. How do you figure that?

Humm. When did you buy your machine? Maybe some hardware problem was fixed since I bought the two Amigas I have… Look closely at those waves, you should be able to see a diagonal glitch above the base of the wave, as it is moving forward to the bottom left…

A friend of mine just bought the Mimetics, too. (All things that I was told here considered, I would have suggested the FutereSound.) At any rate, he tells me that in the back there is a spec sheet on the sampler. It says "Available in Stereo or Mono." What gives?…

Now that's really funny! It is obvious that when one says that one wants your games to work from the workbench, they mean that they don't want it to take over the whole machine! Now you have a game that just takes one extra step (annoying) to run, and yet…

So you have the Mimetics. Is it a stereo digitizer as claimed, and in what sense (i.e. can you digitize the 2 channels together?) And can you save those 20 secs. as IFF. I heard that although it claims to be IFF, you can't save regular speech as IFF, only…

How about this one: running the calculator from the CLI crashes the system. By the way, I think 1.2B4 has very few bugs (i.e. bearable) and therefore I am currently doing all my work on it.

The mountlist IS in the devs directory, and MOUNT does not give me an error message. I then put in a blank disk and say DISKCHANGE DF2: and it gives me an error. My drive runs fine in IBM mode. Oh well, another mystery added to my list. Any suggestions?

We just got WB 1.2 beta 2 yesterday. I was able to use it with the microforge 40meg/7 card expansion slot. All software I've tried so far runs (to some degree!) The thing is overall MUCH improved over 1.1, and increasing your disk buffers can increase your directories by about…

I can't imagine why a company like Atari who developed the 520ST in so little time, would sell a project that they paid so much in R&D money on to another company, knowing that they might "hope to sell it" in the future. Couldn't they have hired one or two…

Hacking a circuit has nothing to do with the updates you receive from Amiga. You could almost disregard all the upgrades they send, build the circuit, and then when you have the final specs (set for this week or next week,) only minor modifications would be necessary. At least this…
