Well, the only time I have shut down the system is when, for whatever reason, one of the CPU's just shuts off. At first, I did think the system had locked up, but have found out, as you have, to just let the system work! So far, the only regular…

Elliot, As a prof of mine once said, "Crashing is just another feature of the system at no extra cost." Well, I guess as the price goes up, so do the bugs!!! :} Are you dreaming of files with eight characters yet? GM

What? Motion in an animation? Are you crazy, man??!! :} Well, maybe one day we'll see a bug free Lightwave!!! My Raptor shut down the other day when I sent it a scene using a shadowmap! UGGGGGGGG! I'll wait by the mailbox!

Peter, Well, I have tried, and even with a rubber hose, and maybe some toxic liquid, I still don't think anyone could get it out of him! :} Maybe we should all call Dolby Labs and beg for a pro-sumer model of their encoder!!!:} Here's hopin' NewTek is listening!!!!

Elliot, Try one more thing….I don't know if this will do a darn thing, but here goes…. Start up both systems….then, shut down the raptor thru screamer net. Then turn off the Raptor's power. Turn it back on. Go through the start up and shut down about three or four…
From: glen miller Amiga Vendor Forum · NewTek August 25, 1994 11:07 PM
Well, from what I know, the Raptor's NT system is set up to use the 8.3 file size. All I can say is that since I started using shorter file names, I have not had a transfer problem!

Yea, one of my friends from college learned how to mix surround off a camcorder… However, it is still a secret that he won't reveal! :{ When everyone else was having trouble with the focus of their camera, we were turning in wide-screen surround mini-movies!!!! :} Geeze, I hope NewTek…

I have to support you in your view of Real 3D! It isn't easy! I am a Lightwave user who has found only SoftImage to be more impressive! Imagine is good too! Once Real becomes a bit more artistic friendly…SoftImages does all Real will do, and it is a breeze…

Oh, I forgot this one… and I can see everyone's eyes roll here, but darnit, I want this…. will the FLYER's sound hardware support SURROUND Encoding? After Tim laughs, ask him again! I want to make sound as important as video!
From: glen miller Amiga Vendor Forum · NewTek August 20, 1994 11:08 PM
Will the Flyer come with a time line..something for pro editing? Also, at work we need the ability to tag shots in numerous ways and then be able to say," Run all the footage with Tag A, B, F, K, M," for example. I know the NFL is going NLE…

Well, Since ScreamerNet shortens the file name from the Amiga length to the NT length…and since I had mega problems with long names going across the net, I would say that Nt has some short name file system…8.3…I don't know for sure, but I would bet that that number is…

Elliot, Also check and see if your image goes across the net into the raptor. You might load it as a background image and see if it comes back. If not, shorten the name of the image to eight characters (dot) three characters. (xxxxxxxx.xxx) . I had a problem with…

Elliot, Well, yes and no. LW does do a light fall off, but what I would like is a flare pattern based on a shape you could draw… such as an explosion…which is never always round…and LW flares are always round. I guess you could mask over a "glow behind"…

Joe, Well, I have been away for a week or so, so let me know how those demos or the warp stuff went! I didn't see The great Physics program on your list. Did they show it? I like your idea on the bones. It sounds sort-of like WaveFront's digital…
