Phonedisc has vastly better data, search software, technical support, a BBS to retrieve the latest software, and we store much more information per disc than theirs. Our PhoneDisc Reverse product allows fully-indexed searching. A windows version is scheduled for the near future.

The Summer 93 edition of PhoneDisc products are now shipping. Phonedisc USA Residential now contains over 50% more households than all prior versions. At over 80 million residential listings, it is the largest and most up-to-date CD-based telephone directory ever released. Phonedisc USA Residential is searchable by name only, and…

Thomas, Is it true that UMI is publishing national telephone directories on CD? I work with Digital Directory Assistance, which publishes the same, and was wondering if we have any other competition out there.

Jack, I've read your comments about our product, PhoneDisc, several times. We have always known that our product was superior to anything else on the market, but it's good to hear it from objective users, especially on the CD forum. Thanks for your support Lou Navarro VP Sales

Frank, what do you think of the 486 Scenario Dynavision unit with active color matrix screen? I like it a lot, but the boss wants to go with an IBM thinkpad with portable CD reader for my "sales presentation" work. BTW, did you mean to say "beast" or "best"? Lou

Rich, I've been interested in getting more info on a SPACE CD that was offered, the last time I heard about it, for about $100. It gave supposedly thousands of pictures, and some short "movie" clips, of different planets & asteroids in our solar system, as taken by several satellites.…

Art, we have just started selling from DDA directly, as of this past Monday. I suspect you'll get better service, but I don't know for how long. Our lines were extremely busy the first week, and we have not started taking credit cards yet, although that's coming very soon. Sorry…

Jim, no problem on the misspelling of DAK, just wanted to correct it for your own "future reference." I didn't make Comdex. What were you doing there? Was it business-related, or were you just browsing? What part of Canada do you live/work in?
Jim, it's DAK, not DAC, and I doubt they'd be at Comdex. They are a mail-order company. Claude Schoch (the president of PhoneDisc) will be running around for a couple of days visiting with dealers, distributors, etc. I don't think he would be available, however. What is your interest??
At this moment, it's available only from DAK catalogues at about $149, when purchased without a drive. However, we are getting ready to make a large penetration into the distribution channel. DAK: 800-325-0800 Orders
[continued] We now look at the second half of the "quality equation", which is the search software; it is a critical part of what makes any information product outstanding, and what clearly differentiates PhoneDisc from all other competitors. PhoneDisc software is the fastest and easiest-to-use directory search software available. It…
