#3145- NTSC -> VGA Box? Message #3775
From: Barry W. Lawrensen DTV Forum · A/V Equipment March 16, 1995 7:43 AM
Carl, I might have given you the wrong model for NTSC to VGA; but Digital Vision does make that, too. I use one for capturing video on my office PC: ComputerEyes RT (Real Time). But I think there are other manufacturers that make better units since the DV unit was…

Are you aware of the Digital Vision TelevEyes and TelevEyes/Pro? I tried out the TelevEyes/Pro, and it was pretty decent for the $650 price. And the TelevEyes (not PRO in model name) is less than half that amount, but I haven't tried that one. Digital Vision: 270 Bridge St. Dedham…

Gary, What kind of a price would you give a non-profit college for a severly underbudgeted tv studio in our COmm. studies dept? (Our eqpt budget this year was $1000, which is gone… ) Anyway, we're trying to build our own teleprompter, and I think a A1000 would do the…

Thank you, Bruce for the reply. I did eliminate the MX-12 from the path; I finally figured out how to access the menus on the Kitchen sync controller (I didn't have a manual for it). But to do things right, I guess I'll have to find an audio delay. -Barry

And, FAST has built-in sync on the board: separate TBC's aren't needed, but it does cost more than a Toaster. PMFJI, I was considering FAST before I bought a used Toaster about 2 months ago, but the FAST costs a lot more if you don't have the PC already. And…

We have a small TV studio for our comm. studies here at Northwestern College, and are trying to improve our facilities without a lot of money available. Any ideas on how to "do-it-yourself" a teleprompter? We're soliciting donation of an Amiga or Apple II (someone donated an old ibm, but…

Actually an APPLE II question: Anyone help me find software for teleprompting using an apple II? Plus, any design tips on building the hardware, too, will be greatly appreciated! (This is a D-I Y project for our college TV studio). Thank you!

I'd like to build a teleprompter for our college TV studio: we have a group of students fired up about starting a bi-weekly, live cable-TV ch. 3 (comm. access) news program. Our Comm. Studies Dept. is small, but growing. Is there SOFTWARE available for teleprompting on the PC? Does anyone…

Thanks, Robert! Your advice is very helpful! I wasn't aware of debate over SCSI termination… all I've read is be sure only the last device is terminated, but not the ones along the chain (which follows video loop-thru conventions, which I saw as cross application, in my ?ignorance?) Oh, would…

I am a new, slightly nervous, Video Toaster user from the IBM world. The Amiga is all new to me, and I live in rural Iowa where the Amiga is hardly even heard of. Does any kind soul have some old Video Toaster User and/or Amiga World magazines gathering dust…

I'm possibly in the market for a used Video Toaster. I would consider a 2000, if someone is considering an upgrade. Contact me by e-mail, or call (712) 737-7252. Thanks!
