#Sound ditizer
Message #208394
I have a Perfect Sound 500 for $25.
Sorry, Mark (and all others who have responded). I've been ill the past week. I have all offers in and I will compare them and I will answer EVERYONE. If I have more than one offer on an item, it'll go to the highest bidder. Thanks for your patience…
Interesting. I have an NEC CDR-25 and I've had no problems running it with my 2 internal Quantam hard drives using GVPScsi.device and AsimCDFS. I am able to turn it on with my computer, with or without disc and it works fine.
Quantum HD problem
Message #196703
Try using something other than HDToolbox to set up your drive, like, GVPs FaaastPrep, for example. I've heard that HDToolbox is not to accurate. Sounds like HDToolbox cannot handle large drives, for some reason.
Ouch. Sounds like you may have a rev. 3 (or maybe even earlier?) Seems like the previous owner thought that if he put in the 1 Meg Agnus chip, he would automatically have 1MB chip ram…that's what I thought at once 8) But anyway, all my docs say that if…

"On another note I see you are looking for audio cd capabilites also, is so make sure the drive you pick is a SCSI II drive, it does not matter if the controller is scsi II or not, but the drive must be in order to utilize the audio cd…
OOOPS! I realized I put down that the system should go together. Together? Everyone wants a computer with 4 monitors 😉 The only parts that have to be together is the A500 & VXL 030/2MB (because its soldered in…board kept popping out!)
The A520 can be sold separately. However, I wish to keep the A500 together with the Bodega Bay for a while longer…
My external CDRom DOES work with my GVP Scsi II series card. There was a special adaptor that came with the CDRom that looked kind of like a gender changer that did not change the gender. I am told (by Betty Clay, I believe) that this was actually an external…

Sorry. Mine is a Series II controller in my Zorro II slot running an NEC-CDR-25 drive with AsimCDFS. I just plugged it in, installed the AsimCDFS, and it worked. Runs well with my two hard drives. Kevin
No, not your fault. I think my drive is just getting old 8) Anyway, I tried it. I have PPP downloaded into DH0:PPP/ I moved the PPP/Devs to SYS:Devs/ and the SANAII driver into the Networks/ directory in Devs/. I installed AmiTCP as described in PPPHLP.TXT. I had the installer…

#How do I use Mosaic?
Message #195873
OK. This is it. I finally decided to hook up to WWW. Now, just one minor question: HOW? I have Amiga Mosaic (all three- AmiTCP, DNET, and NONET). I have AmiTCP 3.whatever it is. I have DNET 3.whatever it is. How do I get all these numbers it wants me…
#Printer Driver BJ-10sx
Message #195805
Is there a print driver here for Canon BJ-10sx or a driver that will work for the printer?
I do know the CDRom I mentioned that has over 1000 fonts useable with most applications. I also heard of Texture CDRoms, each CD containing many different background textures.
You can READ your PC CDRoms, but it won't play the files. This is useful for text files (like Project Guttenberg) or Fonts. I, for example, have 1000 Truetype fonts for Windows 3.1 that works well with my CDRom with Pagestream and Final Writer 3 as well as several other…
When all else fails, try Epson! Actually, Epson is the most common printer driver for dot matrix printers. So I would suggest trying all the epson drivers, probably EpsonX or EpsonXOld or something like that. Hope this helps…
I have instructions on how to make a 23 pin to vga cable connector that will work with vga monitors. Though I haven't tried it, it looks pretty simple. I don't know if it appears here in the libraries or not. If you want, I could upload it.
I have an adaptor I bought for my A500. I did not know at the time I couldn't use the VGA on a 2.1 A500. I bought it from Creative Computers (23 – 15 pin VGA adaptor).
The Amiga RT cannot be used on a MAC (at least to the best of my knowledge). …However, if you wish to keep up the tradition of it being given away, I'll gladly take it off your hands ;+}
Thanks for the info. You were right…
Thans. You are right…
My modem supports Class 1-3 Faxes. My serial setting is serial.device device #0. I have no tooltypes set (I assume thats when I go to the information screen for the icon). My Init string, as supplied my the modem manufacturer is ATE10&C1&D2S0=0. I am not sure what you mean by…
Where is DF0:?
Message #195118
I have a problem with my disk drives. My DF0: works fine until I plug in an external drive. Then, upon boot, I get the message "Insert volume df0:" Of course, I click cancel, then my system boots up and I can use my df1: as df1: it just doesn't…
I have no idea. I got the DSS8 from someone here who was selling one. I later bought a package deal which included the DSS8+. I never bought an original nor did I upgrade.
Let me get that information for you. I am selling my DSS8 and my Perfect Sound (by sunrize) because I now have a DSS8+. I will check the version of the software this afternoon. I've been moving so everything is in more of a disarray than it usually is 8+}…
Thanks. I have version 2.01 2/5/95. I tried to update with the patch found here, but I get the message incorrect version of original file or something of the like. I have a Reveal 14.4 modem which works fine in Data mode. I believe Generic installation was the one installed.…
#GPFax won't send
Message #194863
I am having trouble with my GPFax trying to send. I'm not sure what exactly it is. After connection, it tries to send the page "Sending 01/01 Std", then gives me "unexpected serial" and finally "line error". I do not know exatcly what I am doing but really want my…
GPFax
Message #194700
I am trying out GPFax with my Fax modem. However, once I get connected to the fax, I get the message "Sending 01/02", then "Unexpected Serial" and finally "Line Fail". Any suggestions?

#What does CEI stand for?
Message #193526
Can anyone tell me what the abbreviation CEI stands for? Does ESCOM stand for something? Just wondering…
You need to assign AmiTCP: to wherever it is located at. EXAMPLE: Assign AmiTCP: dh0:sys
Forget the previous reply. That was about a monitor ad I answered on AOL. I got my sources from March 1995 AW.
Im sorry — I didn't mean to sound so negative… I had just bought one for $70 and the price flabbergasted me.
Disk Drive Failure
Message #192913
I am trying to use my external DD on my A500. For some reason, when I connect my external up, the computer doesn't recognize either drive. DF0: works find without the external. It doesn't work for either external that I have, both of which worked perfectly before. Thanks!
You wish to sell CD32+SX1 for $415? A recent ad says $389 and then you won't even consider a smaller offer from someone?
Actually, I've seen new keyboars for around $20-30 range (I think)
Some disks, mainly games, appear as "NOT A DOS DISK" because of the copy protection on that disk so DOS cannot access it. The disks are normally self-bootable. R/ errors happen either because your drive is bad or dirty, or of course the disk is bad. The most common cause…
Unless your hard disk was manufactured in, say, the early 80s, you don't need a program to park heads. All newer hard drives automatically park their heads on power down. You may wish to check the year of manufacture and ask around to see when this rule was made standard.…
I, for one, appreciate your continues support for Amiga users. However, save for PD disks, I haven't ordered from you because your prices are a bit on the expensive side when compared to other mail-order prices.
Though I am not sure if such a cable exsists, I do know of a company (in the states) that special manufactures cables. All they would need would be a pin out of a SCART (if they don't have one) and some other specs. Perhaps someone can give you the…
Sir, I know I'm not in the UK, however when my chip blew up (my fault), I talked to SUPRA and they would not send me the replacement chip but had me send in the unit to be repaired. So I did this, and they repaired it and, knowing the…
