#Ami-File Pro or Safe
Message #216781
Hello all! Is there any info out there about Ami-File Safe and Ami-File Pro? What are the differences between them? They sound great but an ad said something about support for only one (1) hard drive. Is that both of them or just Safe? Thanks very much! Tom

My 2 cents.too! I paid $145 for OS 3.1 for my A3000. I paid $80 for OS2 WARP nad look what I got…3.1; about 4 megabytes. WARP; close to 50 megabytes of "stuff!" What a bargain! Actually I like bot of them. How many apples to an orange? Tom

Hank: You might talk to Amiga Library Services. They have all the "fish" CDs. Their number is: (800) 804-0833 FAX (602) 491-0048 I know they have a cd with fish disks 1-1000. They probably have the rest available or will add them to cds soon. Good luck! Tom

Walter/Peggy: Gary is right. Cross DOS does a fine job. It's a commercial program made by Consultron. WorkBench versions 2.1 and above have it built in to the operating system. Remember that a low density Amiga disk drive only read 720k IBM floppies. Enjoy. Tom

Erik: The only repetition I can see is rebooting after the machine has been running for a while. Today it went yellow when I rebooted after running it about 15 minutes. I don't normally reboot very often so I can't say how long it takes before it won't reboot. It…

Ral: Oh boy! ROM time on the A3000! Do you have the ROM tower version of the A3000? If so you must replace the ROMs on the underside of that little daughterboard with the 2.04 ROMs. The trick there is to get the daughterboard off the motherboard without bending the…

Dennis: Earlier tonite I read that the A1200 PCMCIA slot is a 16 bit interface and can actually slow down your Amiga! The accelerator RAM SHOULD be 32 bit RAM and then you should have no problem using both types of RAM. At least "sysinfo" shows then to be separate.…

A4008-HC8 = SCSI II? Hilary, I'd be VERY surprised if it weren't SCSI II because I have an '030 accelerator from GVP from before the A4000 came out and it is a SCSI II controller. I use a Toshiba 3401 CD-ROM but it's internal. After all the discussion of external…

"We used Amigas as a solution for DEMONSTARTING…" "Demonstarting" sounds more like what the guy with the Windows program had when he had to reboot twice! Or maybe what I have to do on WARP sometimes. (6 reboots? Ouch!) Tom PS: I love typos!

Asha: Re. Curved laptop. I've often thought that you could easily put together a laptop whose case would fit under a 101 key keyboard. That way you'd have a full size keyboard…and the monitor would easily show 8.5" x14" in landscape orientation. Well, maybe the screen would only cover the…
