From: Steve Ahlstrom Amiga User Forum · Communications October 29, 1995 11:41 AM
Since I don't know what specifically what you are doing I don't know why you can't get it to work. Suffice it to say, tho, that if you have the XPR B+ or QB library, and you've selected one of those libraries for use with Term, it works fine.

NIck, First of all, I haven't seen any (new) IDE drives for sale smaller than 540M in over a year. Over at my local Best Buy store (not the cheapest around, Circuit City and Incredible Universe beat them on price, but they're a couple of miles from my house) they've…

If you use xmodem for downloads (on Compuserve) you are taking 2-8 times longer than necessary to download a file. Use B+ protocol — VLT supports it as an XPR library. -Steve Ahlstrom

Alex, HotJava (for Windows) is only up to Alpha version 3 — it is extremely unstable. However, that said, it runs fine under Win95 — "fine" meaning that it'll crash no more often under 95 than it does under NT. At work I run it under both 95 and Solaris.…

DJ, You need to learn a bit about ISDN (bookstore, library, etc.). You get 2 high speed channels (64kbaud that can be combined into 1 128kbaud) and one slow speed line. You will need equipment that understands ISDN ("modem", fax machine, telephone — whatever). -sja

CompuServe is expected, within the next year or so, to have revenues higher than their parent company, H&R Block. CompuServe is doing extremely well right now, but this is a very competitive and changing market. I'm sure there is some fear (probably a LOT of fear) at H&R Block that…
