Dear Regis, I have a book in English with 2 disks includes : Imagine 2.0 (only for PC, sorry for amiga men). This book is : 3D MODELING LAB by Philip Shaddock The Waite group press Philippe.
Fine, just making sure you knew. Tim
Yeah, I have been there lurking. But I saw Phillippe's post and replyed. -Steven
it is availble from back issues of amiga magazine or amiga format or cu amiga
Since nobody has gotten back to you I will pass along the litle bit I know. Last May Impulse offered a continual upgrade policy which for $100 would give you quarterly upgrades; 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, ending with 4.0. $.0 was to be out in May of this year but they…

Phillippe & Steven, There's a very active Imagine User Group in the GUGRPA forum. Also, Impulse does most of their tech support now in the ANVENA forum, since the program is now multi-platform, and growing in popularity for the PC. But lots of knowledgeable folks hang out in GUGRPA-Imagine section.…
I can not confirm it myself, but if it is true… Then it is one hell of a PD 3D software package! -Steven

I have read that now Imagine 2.0 is in public domain. Could you confirm this?

I have Imagine 2.0. I have a Picasso card with the CyberGFX driver too. Is it possible to use them together ? When I try ChangeScreen nothing happens. If a new release of Imagine works with CyberGFX is it possible to upgrade? Is Imagine for Amiga always under development? Thanks…
Hiya Philippe, Well you have found one. And that is me. I have used Imagine for three years now,(running on an A500) Started with Imagine 2.0 and am currently using 3.0(I am waiting for the newsletter so I can order the latest version) I may not have a wealth of…

Have you tried thecybergraphics software pakage? I heard that Imagine would not run on my Picasso II but so far it seems to work. I'm still trying to figure the program out though.

"I dont scale things once I finish them , I just move the camera around and set the Y axis to get the effect I need." Thanks for clearing that up. I'll have to start doing it, all along I've been scaling objects to fit the default camera settings. Jim…
re: imagine 3.2 config file: had to use new config file because they added several new fields to it. In talking with 'arv', it seems a personal config file of one of the developers got shipped to users (ouch!). I guess my point is that they should assume 'nothing' when…
ron I appreciate the fact that you use Imagine and look forward to your future comments. However as Greg suggested you have some lack of knowledge along the line of the problems you are having. While CIS is a great format, I suggest that you drop us private mail in…

Dennis, Glad you got it working for ya, and thanks for the filename as it's found in GRAPHSUP. The name I gave you is how version 5.0 was uploaded to GRAPHDEV. Sorry for any inconvenience the incorrect filename may have caused you. -GreG
Greg, Thanks for the information on the upgrade. Glad to see I did'nt miss a update.
GreG, Thanks for suggesting the Universal Vesa Driver program(s). They seemed to fix my missing VESA driver problems and don't seem to have caused any new ones. Their enclosed known bug report indicates that there is some sort of memory page management problem which may ocurr with chips including my…
Ijust mounted the driver GreG T. suggested for my cirrus chips. It appears to work on my cirrus 54xx chips. If you're keeping score, you'll notice my chip numbers changed. QEMM disagrees with Norton and the VESA driver. Majority says 54xx. Minority says 610/20. The forum that had it was…
Please let me know if you get a Vesa driver that works with Cirrus and Imagine. I also have the Cirrus chipset on a laptop and have tried different Vesa drivers from different software authors that claim to meet the Vesa spec. Unfortunately the spec is subject to interpretation and…

Thank you to Martin and GreG for your suggestions on my non-VESA displaying Pentium. Martin asked what video board…Cirrus – GD610/20. GreG suggested getting appropriate drivers. I took a look at my config.sys and didn't see anything that looked like a VESA driver being called up. Looked for DOS drivers…
Mike, I assume you mean that you create the object as large as the default window of the detail editor. When rendering you must be scaling the objects in the stage to the size you want them to appear in the final picture. Am I correct? Jim R. Ollick on…
Michael, The PC version of 3.2 shipped late last week. The Amiga version as I understand it started shipping today, or will in the next day or so. -GreG
Greg, Pardon me for jumping in. Has Impulse shipped 3.2 for the amiga yet? I am a member of the constant upgrade program and only received the 3.1 version which was sent many many months ago.
Ron, I don't speak for Impulse, I just support Imagine in another forum, but let me address some of your "bugs" that you found. For your points 1 and 2, apparently you are not using an Imagine.CFG file, or you are using one that got shipped with 3.2 (something Impulse…

Dennis, The graphics standard called VESA has nothing to do with the bus architecture known as VESA LOCAL BUS. Imagine 3.0 and on recognizes the VESA 1.2 graphics standard. If your video card is not VESA compliant, then Imagine will not recognize what video modes you have available. You can…
Hi Dennis, What Video Board are you using? You may need a universal VESA driver to get round the problem. As VESA is not directly related to VL bus it is possible your video card does not support it directly Martin Cohen 100316,471
James I called Impulse on friday to see where my Amiga copy was, they said it ships today. The PC version went out last week.

Need some tech support or perhaps a "We built it that way that year" said with Sympathy. I'm an old Amiga user that hasn't become expert on PC jargon, busses ,etc. Just got a Pentium-100 PCI machine and Im 3.2. How fitting. When I used to run Im on wife's…

Subject: Constant Upgrade Program Is this program still in force or has Impulse gone back to once a year on upgrades. Received 3.1 a few months ago at that time there was a projection of maybe receiving 3.2 around December or Jan. Since Febuary is just about gone just wondered…
Stephen NO this is how big it CAN get and no larger, outside that figure and nothing happens. You could save some memory but you might increase the rendering time to something real slow, so just set the value to 0.. As for making things small, this is not a…
Mike, Is the size of 16285 units a new default? I ran into the problem of disappearing objects in trace mode years ago (probably v.1.0 or 2.0) and tech support told me about the unverse size constobjects pretty far to violate 16285 units, and Ive always focused on making objects…
Mike, thanks… I tried scaling everything down to 10 percent, and it didn't help. So I deleted everything, started from scratch, and now have a nice ray trace at 320 X 200 X 24. I dunno what I did right, but this time everything was much smaller. It didn't turn…
Jim The world is 16285 units in all directions unless in the Action editor you have set the size of the world to something else, on the other hand if you leave it at 0 then Imagine will use what it needs and not bother with the rest of the…
I'm positioned around 0,0, but everything is huge (the plane is something like 1500 units across, as I recall). I'll check into that. Thanks!! Could I scale everything down all at once?
Try this — The Imagine universe is only 1000 ( I think its 1000, Mike, can you confirm?) units in size when ray-tracing. Any object outside the 1000 unit parimeter will disappear in trace mode. This phenomonon does not occur in any other rendering mode. I would check your objects…
Thanks, Mike, I will. I'm sure it's something dumb I'm overlooking (or doing), but it has me stumped.
Jim Dah, I dunno, maybe the ray trace is making the glass objects disappear for some reason, try putting a ground under them and give it the checker board texture, this way you will have some depth to whats going on, other wise send us the file and we will…

Okay, I give up. I don't like asking for advice, but I can't figure out where I'm going wrong. I've got the 2.0 version of Imagine that comes with 3d Modelling Lab. I finally got some time to work with it (not exactly true; I *made* the time), and have…
>> I'm creating different poses as states to create a modern dance routine. Changing the poses in bones works great. But the states does not remember the position or angle of the parent axis.
Bruce, A state uses the parent axis as a reference axis. It's alignment or position will not be maintained throughout different states. If you need to use the parent axis for the humanoid models, add a null axis and make this null axis the parent to the humanoid form. -GreG

However, lately I have had quite a few hard crashes while trying to use Imagine 3.0. These crashes generally appear when I enter…
