Nick: I was born with 10 thumbs. I don't mind a game that gives me time to think, but if I have to rely on reflex, I'm doomed. Clint

Don't count on TVS Baseball any time soon. According to a recent issue of Computer Gaming World, the small company that was working on TVS Baseball has filed a $20 million suit against Cinemaware. It seems Cinemaware cancelled the project and then attempted to block the company from marketing the…

Bruce, Thank you for the information, I too have a feeling that this may be yet another of their missed release dates (i.e. I'd like to see that property before I will buy). It is good to hear that Curse will be coming out soon after the release try to…

Nick, Haven't heard about Wings yet, but anything from Cinemaware has to be good. Rampage is great fun (especially if you've had a lousy day). Destroying building after building can be very stress-relieving. — Linda

The little guy (what's his name, Skippy?) gave my six-year-old a real run for his money at the Egghead store (I was buying a null modem). I had dismissed it as a Pong remake, which goes to show I oughtn't judge a book by its cover. THol() { cout

Hi Scott, I have STRYX, and it is a blast. Also VIRUS is still the best 3-D defender game, although I don't make it past the 2nd level often…CRASH!! Have you seen Persian Gulf Inferno? Fun and topical!! -Nick

Linda, I haven't played T.F.Hour, but just purchased WINGS from CINEMAWARE and recommend it highly. Lots of fun and interesting, also. RAMPAGE was a blast in the arcade, how's the AMIGA version? -Nick

Hey pip… :') As I told David there are close to forty pages, and they're drawn in pencil on graph paper. I'm willing to try to send some, if you have a FAX machine, but I'm not sure they'll be very legible. This is such a fun game to map,…

From: Linda Fitzpatrick AmigaArts Forum · Games September 5, 1990 9:36 AM
Is Shufflepuck Cafe enjoyable? And how! Whether a novice or master, it's great fun because you have a range of opponents, with varying skills, to choose from. And some of their snarling/smirking alien retorts when they smash a puck into your goal just drive you on to blow them away.…

Tim, Sounds like you were hitting the carrier correctly, just from the wrong direction. The 'Loop and Land' is the quickest I know of, but circling will work. There IS a minimum time you have to be aloft, or so it seems. I just ran through it as quickly as…

It took me about 15 tries to qualify myself. I thought I was doing everthing right. I would fly inverted over the carrier and then come around and land. I finally qualified after CIRCLING around the carrier. I don't know why it wouldn't work the other way. Tim BURFord

I just got Sub Battle Simulator from Epyx. Indeed it looks very nice! However, I was a bit dismayed the first time I dived my sub. The bug? Yes, here you can reproduce it too, it is almost as good as the anti-grav device that was installed on the F/A…

Thanks for your thoughts. Everyone's certainly entitled to like what they want to like, and it's interesting to see different ideas on what's good and why. We don't really disagree about Bard's Tale – you do acknowledge that it's mindless hack-and-slash, and whether one likes that or not is personal…

I was disappointed in the Bard's Tale II clue book–too detailed. The BT I clue book left something up to the player, but this new one comes complete with numbers. Not much to solve. As to the mindless hack and slash character of Bard's Tale, I can tell you exactly…

Alas, NONE of the stores in my area (Phila. and suburbs) has gotten Bards Tale II in yet. But if you are really curious, you can always ask over in GAMERS, where there are people who finished BT II on other machines, or look in The Electronic Gamer (GO TEG)…

From: Henry Colonna AmigaArts Forum · Games July 17, 1988 6:16 PM
I'm glad it's friends – I've been playing Empire with a "stranger" and there have been paranoid feelings of cheating, including an accusation at one time (which was not from me, and which was withdraw very apologetically later.) It happened when 2 airplanes sunk 2 destroyers in 1 turn. THings…

Henry, It would be nice if it were true. But that information's from a man who thought his "enhanced" versions of Wizardry I and II for MS-DOS would work in EGA. They don't. And they even REMOVED the ability to set the colors of the dungeon from anything other than…
From: Douglas Martin AmigaArts Forum · Games July 17, 1988 4:50 PM
Anybody far enough in Bard's Tale 2 to help me satisfy my curiosity with the starter dungeon? I finally gave up on it when I couldn't figure out how to rescue the princess and I had built myself up enough to try the "outside world". Probably doesn't bode well for…
#Empire Dread Message #272
From: Thomas Holaday AmigaArts Forum · Games July 17, 1988 1:00 PM
A group of friends plans to get together over the nCQ@few weekends in order to play some three-human Empire. The problem is, each has been playing repeatedly, obsessively, against the less-than-invincible AI. Each has been crushing the AI. Each has built up a self-image as a pretty-darned-capable player. I dread…

Robert Woodhead has claimed that he's working on a 16 bit system that is far superior to anything else yet, including FTL's system. It's being designed from the ground up on the 16 bits, according to him.

I didn't think that the opening was predictable at all. The story-line about you walking near the Stonehenge in England, the gypsy's tent, and the cards, and all the rest was excellent. The writing and ideas were far better there than in anything else that I can remember – any…
From: Steven Bennett AmigaArts Forum · Games July 16, 1988 10:33 PM
The thing to remember with Wizardry is that it's basically ancient computer RPG technology. It plays very similarly to Bard's Tale but with more puzzle solving and less hack and slash. Also, it's not at all as graphically oriented. I'm afraid if Wizardry *was* ported to the Amiga, it would…

From: Steven Bennett AmigaArts Forum · Games July 16, 1988 10:28 PM
You can pretty much ignore the morality. It quickly breaks down into a set of do this/don't do this decisions and you can get down to the *real* game which is exploration and puzzle solving, like most other RPGs. It's actually a very good game in those regards. –>Steve Bennett
From: Steven Bennett AmigaArts Forum · Games July 16, 1988 10:25 PM
Actually, the opening of the game was rather predictable. After going through it the first time, I found it absolutely no problem to go through it again and always end up with the exact character I wanted. I want a game that allows me to be "bad" or good or…
