>Is there anyway to move animations on your computer to a video in a VCR?< YOu can do it with an add-in card. These ten to fall into two categories: cheap ($200) and crappy, and good and expensive ($800-$1200). Depending on what it is, how big, etc., you can also…

>3DS REALLY needs spline modelling…Almost had it this time 'round< are you referring to R3 or R4? I thought R4 was s'posed to _have_ spline modeling.
You are an outstanding artist. These animations are super. Could I ask (if you don't mind), does Compuserve pay any sort of royalties based on the number of downloads. The reason I ask is my girlfriend is an artist and wants to upload some gifs of her photos and paintings.…

In usual practice, those measurments are made when the photograph is taken… then the renderer is setup and tuned to those dimensions. Bri

I'd like to get some info concerning constructing satalite and radar loops like on TV. I currently am using .GIF images from Compuserve weather, converting them into .BMP images, then using a program called "Take One" which creates a .ANS file which loops the images together. It's not too bad but…
Hi Jim, The learning curve for Macromedia Director (note name) is long, but also gentle, and there is no need to take advantage of all the depth available in the tool. If your current interest is confined to animation then you can get results quickly. If you later wish to…

Hi Matt, Best resource I know of for QTW installation and play is Bob Currier's documentation in one of the libraries of the Macintosh Multimedia Forum (GO MACMEDIA). If my memory's not *too* flaky it's called QTWDOC.TXT. fwiw, QTW 2.0 is due RSN and is said to have an easier…

Nothing so esoteric..just Medical, Dental, and related software for networked offices. I never though I had the talent to think up a good playable game concept and then program it.

No, actually I DID like the spline modeller from Playmation, but that was the only thing I liked about the program. It is very fluid, very easy to use. Hey, by the way, saw your stuff on the CompuServe CD! Love those dolphins… Jeff
Whoa! OS/2 isn't 32 bit? Where have you been bucko? OS/2 has been mostly 32 bit since ver. 2.1!!!! About the only thing that isn't always 32 bit is the graphics drivers, and that is only because the vendors (not IBM) haven't written them in 32 bit. The drivers written…

Hi Frank, first of all the computer is not the most important thing. A PPC would make things a lot faster, but what really matters is the animation program. To show the complex anatomy of a heart you will need a very detailed 3D object of a heart. You could…

So you didn't like the spline modeller from Playmation? Is it too limited? Is it too hard to use? Many programs claim to have spline modelling but there are huge differences. Some just have a few 2D spline options and the rest is triangles other use splines all the way.

Hi Mitch, Most of the discussion on 3D Studio happens in the ASOFT forum, operated by Autodesk to support its multimedia products. It is a very active forum, and I am sure that you will find many interesting threads.
Hello, I'm making animations of architectural projects featuring dissolves from a photo of a building to an animated representation of it. I need software that can determine the camera postion and lens from a photograph and some information on the spatial relationships of things in the photo. Anyone know of…

MPEG Player Message #453
I downloaded the Xing Mpeg Player, but I encounter two problems : – It doesn't work with my Matrox Ultima video board – I have an error message when I want to load the XMPG_AVI.DRV ("Corrupted or not found XMPG_AVI.DRV") Thanks for any help ! Best regards, Michel.
Thanks for the info on the video players. By the way, your animations were the first ones I was gonna download. I loved the Shark and the Abyss Font. I'm anxious to see what else you have on here.
Well.. for you head slappers…. win'95 is 386+ only…. as ive said before.. it IS 32bit… 286's have been blown off… you cant even run the win'95 "dos" on a 286… Rob
Thats what development programs are for.. there have been multiple releases of alpha and betas of it to the developers along with msc to program for it…. as for your 'pmode' kicking it into 'flat 32bit mode'… its simply a 16 bit program acting like a 32bit program.. you do…

Jim Here are the phone numbers you requested; Autodesk (3DS) 1-800-879-4233 Impulse (Imagine) 1-800-328-0184 Caligari (TrueSpace) 1-800-351-7620 Newtek (Lightwave) 1-800-847-8111 Lightwave already is a better program than 3DS. This method will be faster for large polygons, but will be slower for small polys. Also it is limited to solid color lines, so it can only be used for no shading or for flat shading. Since you probably want to eventually do gouraud shading and texture mapping, I would…
