Newer Corel CD-ROM? Message #87699
From: Sinclair Cohen Forum: Corel Forum November 21, 1993 3:47 PM
Kelly mentioned that file CDRGFX40.DLL on my CD-ROM should be dated 9/8/93 if I have the latest version, but my file is actually dated 7/20/93. I thought I had 4.0B though. Is there a more recent maintenance release? I would love to have it. Sinclair Cohen Contemporary Resources 3615 Bercaw…
CorelDraw 3.0 patch Message #87679
From: Martin Olsthoorn Forum: Corel Forum November 21, 1993 10:55 AM
Dear Donna, I've recently bought CorelDraw 3.0 Dutch version. As I understand now there are some fixes. In the about window I can only see version 3.0 nothing about A or B release. Can you tell me how I can get the patches / fixes? Martin
From: Paul Wolfgang Forum: Corel Forum November 21, 1993 10:14 AM
That did it. I checked the previous value of the Patch and it was 2048. Installing the Patch on MSDOS 6.2 with the 2048 value works just fine. Thanx for your help. Paul Wolfgang

Hi Robin, Well, I'm glad the expert has waded in! Let's hope this gets fixed. It's really reducing the usefulness of Corel Draw for making slides and figures for publication. Best regards, Martin

I'm not at all sure what devices your numbers represent but I think I can solve your mystery if any of them were formatted using CFormat. CorelSCSI uses 1024 byte sectors, although it will recognize smaller ones. DOS only goes up to 512 byte sectors. CorelSCSI does this by running…

Actually, Smartdrive is slower than the competition in 6.2, but otherwise is very efficient. Doing some comparisons, I find it noticeably slower in DOS, slower in loading and closing Windows, but not noticeable in actually running Windows programs, whatever that means. I've also discovered that, for some reason, the CD…
