From: Ben A Lott AmigaTech Forum · Hot News and Rumors January 26, 1990 11:18 PM
Well the Headstart's still 1 month away and I think that's what killed the deal, I heard that Philips may have had some interests in Headstart, but I'm unsure. Can anyone confirm that? Ben

DPaint canit handle 8-bit planes but EA's Deluxe Photolab paint program reads them just fine, so does impulses Diamond, and both of them interpet the file into Ham format. So IBM Dpaint II pc files are fair game for amigans. Ben

From: Ben A Lott AmigaTech Forum · Ramblings December 29, 1989 8:08 PM
Some things said WEREN'T half truths but the Whole truth, as quoted from an official NewTek rep, the confusion lies in them not being clear with two seperate parties and when those two events were compared, that caused an opinion to be formed. My statement was confirmed by another user…

#80925- HAM-E / NewTek Message #80950
From: Ben A Lott AmigaTech Forum · Hot News and Rumors December 28, 1989 9:00 PM
Gee I just noticed that version 4 of an unmentionable digitizer does not have the said FCC notice. Could it be that the same people who are sending lawyers after people, saying that thier legal rights have been violated are flagrantely violating FEDERAL laws? Hmmm, I guess they can't blame…

Your right they should have told him upfront instead of waiting, now statements that they made to him, myself, and others here that are evident from a few messages back have caused this wrong impression and now NewTek seeks to punish us for our opinions based on thier statements. I'm…

That's true but think of Photon Paint, Dpaint, and according to Obert at A-squared Live! (wich by the way can digitize 6 bits per gun already). All someone need do for people with a DigiView is make a translator for thier raw format (wich now is IFF24 standard) (and that…

Yep, that's my point, and I also don't think they're in any position to market it before yours becomes a standard. I feel NewTek's going to miss the boat on this one, especially if Babzoo soft releases Photon Paint with those features or an EA Deluxe Paint IV (spoke to…

It was AmigaWorld and they seemed to have ticked off Impulse becuase they said that the VD1 only worked in 320 x 400 when it works in all res modes and can capute and display in true NTSC (up to 16 million colors) like the FrameBuffer. Ben

broadcast uses a maximum of 525 lines not 800 to 1000 (that's why if you translate those res's to ntsc they get degraded.) Only HDTV will do 1000 lines and that's not around (commercially) in th US. Ben
