An RGB Encoder is a device found at most video studios that takes RGB input, and puts out NTSC component video. Grass Valley and others produce them, good ones start at $3000 and up. I haven't seen the SuperGen in action, but I heard that it's good. Blaze Harvey used…
Video Titler

VideoScape 2.0 does smooth shading and transparency (even over a Ham digitized image). It generates a frame in about 3 to 4 minutes! You can even turn on a "poor man raytrace" that will reflect the sky and ground colors onto an object (same time as smoothing). You can load…

I wish you could have been at the Ami Expo. We (Aegis) showed some videos created by folks in the field. One was done using an encoder and a 3/4" deck. It was used by the University of Georgia for their bicentenial documentray. Excellent quality. Then there was some of…

Draw Plus 68881?
Message #104084
There is a 68881 in beta. It works with 68020/68881 combos. There is also a update for Plus planned in the future. Modeler 3D is due in a few months, will read/write Draw Plus files and is a 3D solid modeler supporting the VideoScape 3D format. (It also reads Sculpt…

Thanks. I enjoy being here..
The Amiga 3D stuff predates Cyper stuff by quite some time. I like the Cyber series. My only problem with the stuff is that you can't put ST stuff onto a good video tape. Sort of like having a desktop publishing package without any printing support.
Here is a list of future things being worked on for VideoScape 3D. Not all of them will make the next revision, but alot will…. Hirerical motion Loadable Palettes. HAM Half Brite PAL support Better message ports for deck controll. RIFF style compression (IFF ANIM) with 40% more compression. Transparency.…
Diga! uses alot of overlays. Could we simply replace the B protocal with QB? Is B required if QB is supported? Are they similar? (All emulations and protocols use overlays).
Hmm.. Do you have XON/XOFF handshaking turned on? I understand that some modems/systems send a CTRL-S on signon??? Also curious to your total system setup (modem brand included). I use a phoneboox with script to log onto CIS and don't get lockup, even when multitasking other programs. Let's get this…
I'll put the suggestion in….
Heheheh. I like that. We are rolling out a new game (a good one) at AmiExpo. It's called Ports of Call, and is a economic and physical simulation of shipping. Real high level of play.
More color types are being added. Ability to change palette being added. HAM and halfbrite are also in the works for future revisions. Modeler also interfaces to Draw (Plus) so you can pass a 2D object for extrusion or lathe (even a curve fit 2D object!).
The upgrade will be a "send in your disk" type upgrade. Even though we did add features, we also did fix bugs and therefore it's an upgrade. I agree that the documentation should be revised to reflect the product that actually shipped. Finally we have in-house control of typesetting and…
If we can do it, and we get a strong feeling that it's a good idea. Then we'll try. When can I download the spec for the QB mode???
They used an encoder that was created for a RGB camera. I don't have the exact specs, but I'll try to get them. Best quality Amiga video (signal) I've ever seen. They also created a complete building model for VideoScape (big building) down to the 1" level of detail, about…
But I also have a bunch of folks complaining about the size of Diga! and the delay in getting the update out there. I even heard a rumor that we were delaying it because of QB!!!! So I don't know if it's going to make it into Diga!
VideoTitler is our must succesfull product introduction on the Amiga yet. A revision to VideoScape lets you define your own palettes. I've got a ton of videos that folks are creating with VideoScape 3D. Many are quite incrediable. The polygon fonts in Titler are rotatable and distortable. Titler also supports…
The download window is going to be smaller and draggable. The documentation folks didn't know about all the hidden features until the product was shipped, a situation that won't happen again.
It looks like spring of '88. Diga! is (as you obviously know) a very complicated program. We added some features (like CHAT windows, WXModem, and improved macros) and yet have to keep the program near it's current size. This is a very conservative estimate. It may arrive sooner.
You can generate rotating letters, ADO-style animations, a whole bunch of stuff .. because VideoTitler has animation recording built into the program. Is true!
Director is an excellent slide show program. Titler is a title editing and creation program that supports Amiga fonts, Color fonts, and Polygon fonts (unique to Titler). We ship Titler with VideoSeg which is a mouse driven slide-show program. Scrolling is in the works for a future version of VideoSeg,…
If I can get code to QB protocol it may get into the program. Is QB supported thruout CIS? CHAT window is going to be there! I don't know if the program is going to be smaller, I'll be happy if it doesn't get larger (it really can't, if it…
When we know about it, we'll notify registered owners. Now is a good time to let us know about problems and suggestions.
I won't give a date out that we aren't sure of. Aegis has been very carefull on dates. We didn't even advertize VideoTitler or Ports of Call before they shipped (Titler is out now, Ports of Call should be rolled out at AmiExpo). I will say that the program has…
Gee… Yep VT100 and low memory operation were a real problem. Still Diga!'s a really popular program that deserves to be upgraded. Biggest request we got was WXModem. Now is not a bad time to send in those cards and letters.
The images were shown on Broadcast TV and looked (from the 3/4" tape) about Bosch NGS 4000 level. They did use an encoder. The object editor should be out early this year. It's titled "Modeler 3D", I don't have a price at this time. P.S. it can import/export from Draw…
There's a host of software for this purpose. The trick is to get clean composite from the Amiga. I recently looked at some video tapes created with VideoScape 3D, and Amiga 1000, and a really nice encoder (for generating the NTSC composite). Stuff was broadcast quality. It really surprised our…
Hint. There is (and has been) a MAJOR Diga! upgrade in the works since the day the product shipped. WXModem has been added as well as all the bug fixes and features desired by all it's (Diga!s) users. Thanks…
There is a problem using parts via. the function key. Use the pull down menu to select the part tool instead. Sorry about this one, it will be fixed.

Both Draw and Draw plus use the same system to talk to plotters. The advantage of Draw 1.1 and Draw Plus over the original Draw Plus is that you can load the plotter driver (a text file) by name, as opposed to the technique where you name the file plot.driver…

Aegis Draw Plus will work with that setup. It's configurable for almost any plotter in existence. If the GQ 3500 has it's own plotting commands, and if they are similar to the Epson HI80 plotter, that will work also (we support the HI80 plotter already). Good luck.

This is what I ment. Take Draw Plus and modify it's interface and add more style tools. My comments about bitmaps can be stated in a clearer fashion. You can't load paintings into a structured drawing system, you could create a 2 layer system (like VideoTitler and SuperPaint(Mac)). But structured…

In order for a package to create structured drawings it won't support bitmaps. Adobe Illustrator allows for a bitmap "backdrop" that can be traced over. I am interested in persuing this area of drawing in more detail. Is it a matter of having an icon bar and a object-action style…

We are putting instructions on how to move program(s) to the Hard Drive on new products (VideoTitler for one). Thanks for the suggestions.
The release of VideoTitler automatically supports PAL! This includes the VSeg slide show program as well. In fact you can MANUALLY switch the display into PAL # of scanlines, so if you need to create titles for a PAL machine on a NTSC machine … it can be done. Titler…
The "create phonebook" hasen't caused problems in the past. This is definitely a call for Tech Support (213) 392 9972. Did you try "change PhoneBook" after you created it …. and you MUST do a SAVE in the card you have edited, Thanks.
Haven't heard of Quick B download stuff …. Where can the documentation for Quick B be found???
Is this about Diga! emulations? Only the last two lines of your message exist … There is a file uploaded here called "emulate.arc" that is a complete description and docs on creating a Diga! emulation. Also source to the VT100, VT52 and ANSI emulations.
Aegis VideoTitler will also create ANIM's in any resolution with any pallette. It should be in the stores within a week or so…
In the manual there is a CLI command "-m" try something like ani -m300000 and you will see more memory.
