Hamlab-author where? Message #42355
From: Tony Williams Amiga Arts Forum · General Help July 13, 1994 4:41 PM
Harald, I tried to register HamLabPlus about 5 months ago but my cash was returned as sender not found by the U.S. Postal Office. I sent the cash to the 163 Powers Lane, Rochester, NY 14624 USA address in the HamLab docs. I'd suggest trying to contact Ed by e-mail…
#Assign Script Problem Message #155860
From: Tony Williams Amiga User Forum · Using 2.0 – 3.0 July 10, 1994 6:35 AM
Can anyone help me ? I have two CompuServe accounts; one personal and one for work. Consequencially I have two copies of AutoPilot on my drive, each registrered to a different account. I have grown tired of calling the "Execute Command…" requester and typing in the assign path to switch…
#150073 Download & NComm Message #150256
From: Tony Williams Amiga User Forum · Communications June 2, 1994 2:26 PM
Hi Remo, when I was first getting into comms I used NComm. It works fine with BBS's as you have found. It does not work well with CompuServe however when it comes to file transfer. ( My theory is that it can't handle the change from 7E1 for interactive connect…

#149308 #download trouble Message #149584
From: Tony Williams Amiga User Forum · New Amiga Users May 30, 1994 6:35 AM
Mario, I've NEVER managed to get Quick-B protocol to work with Term or NComm. When I'm not using AutoPilot I use Term v3.4. If you want to upload message ascii files you will have to use the very slow xmodem protocol – this takes ages but it works. For file…
Motorola Invaders Message #41208
Motorola Invaders Someone was posting desparate messages pleading for someone to upload the above shareware game. That someone will be happy to hear I've done it. Hopefully the Sysops will OK the upload and put it in the Games library soon. best, Tony. Driving my deck on AutoPilot
#145193 14400 problem Message #145574
From: Tony Williams Amiga User Forum · Communications May 14, 1994 7:17 AM
Keith, I tried the 14400 node. It works fine. My Workbench serial prefs were at 19200 baud, no parity, 8 bit, 1 stop bit. My Term serial prefs had to be DIFFERENT however – 7 bit, even parity, 1 stop bit, 19200 baud ( connects at 14400 baud ). I…
#2 New (UK) Amiga Mags Message #145567
Paul, I'll give Amiga Pro / 32 some bad reviews if you like… 1. The Doc Sorrel piece was a waste of space without printing the code, and a detailed explanation thereof. You try learning something practical with a brief overview and then saying "log onto CIX to actually see…

Kieth, I can't actually help with your 14400 problem, but I've got exactly the same setup as you, except my Amiga is an A4000/30. What is the London 14400 node number ? I'll give it a try ( I'll be dialing from Liverpool ). I don't know if this is…

Shraddhan, I'm in Liverpool, England – how much was the non-EC 68030 and where did you get it from ? best wishes, Tony. Driving my deck on AutoPilot
From: Tony Williams Amiga User Forum · New Amiga Users April 16, 1994 1:20 PM
Matthew, glad to be of help. It really depends on what you use your Amiga for whether to get the ECS chips. I would say if you use your Amiga for a lot of graphical work ( DPaint, Imagine, etc. ) or music sequencing ( OctaMED ) then it might…

Jonathan, My '030 A4000 is the same as usual – over here in Britain we've never heard of a "cost-reduced" A4000. Is this a new rumour or an actual new-spec ( cut-down? ) A4000? Tony Driving my deck on AutoPilot

Dale, initially I used Term on Compuserve, when you get downloading working get AutoPilot ( the sysop will tell you which Amiga forum and library it is in ). AutoPilot is THE BEST PROGRAM to use with Compuserve. When I started, I used Term v3.4. The following worked for me…

Matthew, its not just the A2000's floppy drives that click every few seconds – all Amiga models' floppy drives click ( I don't know why ). There are several PD programs about used to rmedy this. If you are using Workbench 2.04 or greater get KCommodity and put it in…

Alan, I'm at a loss to help you any further. Has MagicMenu's preferences file been corrupted ? Have you tried deleting MagicMenu and re-installing ? The version I am running is 1.29 released 23/11/93 Hope you get it working.

Alan, The answer probably lies in the programs you are running in your User-startup and WBStartup drawer. If another program patches the same OS libraries and calls as the ones MagicMenu does, then it can effectively "wipe out" MagicMenu even when Exchange says it is still running. Try removing your…

Kenneth, download the KCommodity program by Kai Iske. Its a commodity that runs in the backgroud that includes the facility to stop drive clicking as well as a hundred and one other useful things. Best wishes, Tony Williams Driving my deck on AutoPilot
