#when the dollar was
Message #195097
Alex, you're right, I thought about it and remembered that when we travelled to Germany we hit the high of about 1.8 DM for our dollars. We couldn't have done much better if we had planned it. That was in '89.
Methinks your dollars to deutschmarks ratio is backwards. It is somewhere around 1.4 dollars per deutschmark.
My 200 had been running fine on 2.1 before U/G to 3.1. Nearly same config as your dads but w/ 6megs of memory and 2386SX Bridgeboard. I would suggest a reinstallation of OS from scratch.
Received card in today's mail.
This is to everyone really. Creative Computers is dumping all their remaining Amiga stock and leaving Amiga for MacIntosh & soon PC clones.
dual Teac floppy drives
Message #189292
Yes I have one and it worked fine with no problems on my 2386 BB. We bought a few for about $95.
Be sure the BB is seated in the socket, I ahd a similar prob. & reseating was the solution. Seems cockeyed but it worked.

Message #168080

Just remember there are lawyers in the equation. Lawyers=Murphy*1000
FWIW Mitsubishi in Los Angeles area charges a flat $150 for overhaul or whatever short of a new CRT. I got talked into it by the maker of the flicker ***** board. Turned out it was their board all along although Mitsu. found some minor anomolies.
I won't reveal my source in any way but the honcho almost panicked immed- iately and took the thing belly up. He was going to do nothing but mail order, then changed his mind. Where he is going from here I don't know. This was immediately after the CBM news…
If the phone # on the other response doesn't work respond back to me. They are/were close by in what I believe is La Mirada on Beach Blvd. The name one the door was different the last time I went but still functioning as IVS as well. I have a…

Amiga's
Message #151280
I agree with your response completely but thought I'd throw this in anyhow. You can get two foppy drives the the old 5.25 bay by getting a TEAC double 5.25 / 3.5 HD drive unit. After all these years of upgrading I plan to get a high end 486 or…

Thats very interesting because data caching on the '030 screws up the 386SX Bridge Board too. Glad you're making some progress!!!

The first reply pretty well explains what I have here. I run a SCSI cable from the Adaptek portion of my Sond Blaster 16 SCSI-II across to a Trump Card Pro and to an L-bracket plug on the back of my 2000. The CD-ROM drive feeds to both sides OK.

Sorry, I'm afraid I know nothing re A570…
Steve, I wish I could be more encouraging but: I had to to hooking to the Bridge Board side to have access to the kind of packages to which you refer. I have Encarta and Bookshelf from Microsoft and am very impressed in the degree that Multi-media is used. I…
Marion, would you please E-Mail me info to sub to CROSSINGS? Mny TNX.
TEAC makes a dual HD floppy drive, that is 3.5 & 5.25" drive that fits in the original 5.25 bay and sells for around $100.

Just remember when the price of most any computer device drops suddenly very likely a new model is around the corner.
Arlen, I am using a Paradise Speed Star Pro VGA board to my Mitsubishi multi-scan monitor and it now works great after replacing a mis-labeled cable. As for the SCSI, I have a Sound Blaster 16 SCSI-II board with a three connector cable going to HD and Trump-Card Pro from…
Flicker Fixers?
Message #140625
Tom, thanks for the reply. I hope it only follows the flicker fixer and not me… 😉
Yeah, Sniff, sniff I (blubber) want one too!!! 😉
I am going to follow up on my previous post. Since getting everything up and running I have a great of contention between the BB and the Amiga side with both sides being on the same SCSI bus. I think its going to take some serious working to separate things.…
#Flicker Fixers?

Have many people had problems with Flicker Fixer boards going bad? I am on my third board – brand new? replacement. I get color fringing right out of the box – same as first board which went sour after a year & 1/2. Second board after two months went out…
Wear a t-shirt under your t-shirt, it prevents the UGH stickys that happens with many silk screened shirts until they have been washed a few times. ;)………
Brian, I am running an NEC 74-1 CDROM to both sides of my Amiga 2000 that is BB386SX and 2630 output. XETEC's software works fine. On th the BB side I have a Sound Blaster 16 SCSI-II board using the Adaptek software that came with it. They work concurrently with…

VGA Card Mem Conflict
Message #139414
Thanks, Ron it finally turned out to be a bad cable which was labeled VGA to Multisynch. Until I was able to borrow a VGA monitor & cable, there wasn't any way for me to check this out. I have had the monitor for quite a while & didn't have…
Do you have janus driver in expansion? That may be it. I had the same prob a while back and if my leaky memory improves I will get back with a better answer.
Gayle, thanks for this and your previous responses. After two & 1/2 months of banging my head against the wall over this magenta chrs on black bkg, the the answer is in hand but not yet fixed. No problem on WB only on feed from VGA card. I go through…
Yes, thank you. My first problem was the Paradise card was preventing the BB from booting. I thought Enforcer was working but due to many sys. re- loads it got dropped While I am here I have a problem of only getting Magenta charachters on a black screen with now…
Sure wish I'd known that earlier, have already bought a Maxtor 345. Hard Drive International in Arizona told me there was no 340 size available in Quantum. How long has the LPS 340 meg been out? I sure would have gotten it had I known. Thanks anyway, ED R.
Dan, I'm sorry to say that I plan to run both drives in my Amiga 2000 The big one on the Amiga side and the small one one on the 386SX BB side.
I can give an unqualified recommendation to Century Computer Systems at 841 Whittier Blvd in LaHabra Ca. They have been Commodore dealer for a long time. They are absolutely honest and very competent. I have been doing business there since 1986. Ask For Greg if he's available. He is one…

Sorry to hear of your Quantum troubles, I have had my Q-105 for 3 – 4 years w/o any probs whatsoever. I have replaced it w/ a Maxtor 345s only because I could not get a Quantum of that size. Sure hope your luck improves. ED R.
Many thanks John, I fully expect to hollering for help at that time!!!

I have had trouble with two different VGA cards with my 2386SX BB. One was locking the BB completely. The first was a Mach512 VGA VESA compatible. The second is a Computer City house brand half meg VGA/SVGA also VESA compatiblele , which is giving me memory error messages duting…
I saved one BB slot by getting a Sound Blaster SCSI-II combo. I will be intere interested in what advice you get re VGA card as I am experimenting with a Mach-512 card now. I have had so many warnings from people who do not seem to know what they…
Bruno, I am jumping in here late but here's what I have working now: Amiga side Trump Card Pro w/ quantum 105 mounted as a hard card with lead going to one input of NEC 74-1. On 386 BB side Sound Blaster SCSII-II that has Adaptek card built in with…
