ImageFX 2.1's AutoFX batch processor can animate many effects over a series of frames. Whether it animates them the way you want is another question. There is no substitute for learning a little ARexx as it's hard to make your work look like you want it without a little ARexx.…

From: Kermit Woodall Amiga Arts Forum · Audiophile October 5, 1995 10:03 AM
Gary, Last time I had one of these digitizers it came with the IBM Software as well as the Amiga software. The Amiga software was much better. I don't believe anything, outside of their own software, supported it. Kermit

Chris, Your problem lies in rendering to the Picasso 800×600 display. This takes the image out of the Amiga's memory and puts it on the display card were it cannot be saved from. Use the FOREIGN render module instead and all will be fine. Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.
From: Kermit Woodall Amiga Arts Forum · Audiophile October 1, 1995 12:14 PM
Chris, Can you specify all of the steps you go through in creating your files that turn out to be black? Also, is this the version of ImageFX that can on the CU Amiga magazine? Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.

I don't know of any PD or Shareware solutions for you Mike, but our ImageFX comes included with PICT loading and Saving built right in. It handles the PICT format more completely than anything else you'll find. Quicktime, to my knowledge, isn't supported by anything completely on the Amiga due…

Carl, the Sphere function was added in 2.0 – there's a LOT more than just this one new feature though! 😉 Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.
From: Kermit Woodall Amiga Arts Forum · Audiophile September 22, 1995 9:08 PM
ImageFX 2.x can wrap images on a sphere with true raytraced lighting and all. The paint packages simulate this with a simple warp that compresses the image into a circle, not a sphere. Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.

Carey, the limitation of the Oil Paint effect was eliminated in 2.0/2.1 of ImageFX – it works on virtual memory now. If you've got 16mb, then telling ImageFX to use 8000kb (ie: 8mb) is more efficient and faster. Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.

Brad, You'll find interlace/deinterlace options in ImageFX that will do what you want. If you run ImageFX with the switcher in the background it'll use the same, exactly the same, calls to load Framestores that the Toaster software uses. Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.

Carlo, The full documentation for ImageFX comes when you upgrade to ImageFX 2.0 from that coverdisk. Upgrade is only good from Wizard in the UK. This documentation covers ARexx, the commands needed for IMP. However, you can learn a lot about ImageFX's ARexx by using the macro recorder to record…

#44737 Convert IFF to GIF Message #44748
From: Kermit Woodall Amiga Arts Forum · Videophile December 15, 1994 9:01 PM
I transfer ImageFX created GIFs to PCs all the time. Its very reliable and easy. My 3000 handles double density and high density equally well, but the GIFs are rarely so large as to require a high density drive. Kermit Woodall Nova Design, Inc.

GIF files are easily produced using ImageFX. Simply load any source image you want, render it to 256 colors, save as GIF. ImageFX has many controls for improving the GIF such as bi-directional dithering and error thresholds that prevent the "patterned" look that other packages give. Kermit Woodall Nova Design,…

Framestores aren't really IFF spec. They're a format similar in many ways to IFF, but were created by Newtek for their Video Toaster software. ImageFX 2.0 can translate these into any other format, including GIF, easily.

From: Kermit Woodall Amiga Arts Forum · Animation October 27, 1994 6:50 AM
Jan, There is no real solution to rendering quicktime outside of the PC and Mac platforms as most of quicktime's compression/animation codecs are either patented or simply undocumented. Mainactor, a PD/Shareware program, has a very limited quicktime module tho. Our ImageFX can render out FLC animations and the upcoming 2.0…
