Dean, I agree about the manuals. Matter of fact, when I bought the A3000 upgrade and just got some added pages for my original manual there was a little flyer saying that if the part number of my manual was less than such-and-such I should order a complete new manual.…

Dean, I have a 3000 with 2 Quantum 210s installed so I am using CBMs controller. WITHOUT going to the manuals can you tell me how to update the RDBs? Further, I am not using 2.04 in ROM but rather from disk as I see little reason to install the…

Dean, Didn't mean to confuse anyone. I am OF COURSE using 2.04 KS 37.175 WB 37.67!! My only question was a more technical one about the subtle nature of different versions of the FFS. Is THAT what YOU meant? I can't tell by your message. At any rate, I still…

Ugh, Sounds like I have to do a low-level reformat after all. Damn. OK, so is the 2.04 FFS that much better than 2.02 that I got when I bought my 3000? Why (if so)? – via Whap!

When it is said that the drive 'must be reformatted' to take advantage of the latest file-system does that just mean using the ADos format command or does it mean that a low-level re-prep is needed? If I have to do a low-level format then that blows the whole drive…
#17217 After 24-bit….??? Message #17312
From: J. Scott Thayer Amiga Arts Forum · Audiophile March 13, 1992 12:53 AM
There you have apparently hit on a key issue. In a conversation with a company using the Resolver it was pointed out to me that even 24 bit didn't give what THEY needed, increased range in greyscale. With each gun limited to 8 bits there are only 256 discrete levels…

A few of the other products supporting the Resolver now or in the near future (according to DMI promotional material) include ADPro, ImageMaster, Draw 4D Pro, DynaCADD, Professional Page 3.0, Imagine, Caligari, Animagic,…

TO continue…. (too long a message?) DMI claims that up to 60 frames per second can be displayed but they don't specify at what resolution. That covers the included software. Supported software…. well, that is changing rapidly and I can't give the latest. Art Department Pro and ImageMaster support it.…

Andrew, Well, I don't want to go over information that is readily available but then people can skip messages easily enough I guess 🙂 The current DMI Resolver is an 8 bit graphics coprocessor using the TI 34010 GSP graphics chip and the Brooktree palette chip. It comes in 3…

Just a comment about Aldoseri's file requestor. It's beautiful but it seems incompatible with Bill Hawes PathMan and reliably causes a GURU when it is presented with one the the "extended" path descriptions created by that program. I like how it looks but PathMan is infinitely more important. Scott
