Pete, VLTJr has a Cis Quick B protocol. Set this as your protocol then go to the autopilot library and type dow AP.LHA. CIS will then ask what protocol you wish to use. Type in the number corresponding to CIS Quick B and download the file. -Richard

I agree that everyone should get the most powerful Amiga they can afford, but don't underestimate the older machines. The 500, especially with a fat Agnus and a little extra ram, can pump out an awesome slide show. -Richard

shaun, That's because the PC isn't reading Mac formatted disks. They're reading Dos formatted disks that were formatted on the Mac with the AppleFile Exchange program. The Amiga, with CrossDos is quite capable of reading these disks as well. -Richard

You could get a software postscript interpreter for your macine that would allow you to print postscript files on your Deskjet. Look for Post in libs here. Why mess with postscript anyway? FinalWriter's output is quite good! -Richard

I think that tech is wrong. I bought a used 1200 with a 125 meg 2.5 " IDE drive in it. Never measured the speed but it seems plenty fast to me. The Micropolis in my 3000 does around 3 megs a second according to SysInfo. I remember seeing something…

A faster drive makes a big difference and expands what you can do. I put in a Micropolis 1.7 gig av drive in my 3000 and I can now play large animations from the drive at a reasonable speed. -Richard
