#Atom Clock Install
Message #209406
I just downloaded Atom Clock, but after reading the docs, I haven't a clue as to how to install it. Any help would be appreciated. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
Thanks for the info, Tom. I will still be using the A500 with Final Writer, I just thought as a back-up WP I'd try to get something comparable. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
#DTP for PC like FW?
Message #196959
Having been spoiled by Final Writer for DTP, now that I've added a PC to my collection, I am wondering if anyone can suggest a word processor for Windows which might be…dare I say it…comparable to FW? My sys came with Claris, and frankly, I'm not overly impressed by it.…
..null modem cable…good idea! Thanks, Trent. When I get around to doing that, I'm sure you'll see my post about it. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
I have to third Dale Larsen's suggestion. I use MSS Platinum OnLine! for years, and have found Termite to be, at least, as easy to use, if not better. For CIS AutoPilot is the only way to go. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
Thanks, Dale. By the way, if Warp required? When it comes to the PC I'm a stranger in a strange land. Granted years of working with the Amiga, have not gone to waste. But I have lots to learn. I/ve heard og Warp, but…what is it? Another OS in lieu…

#Spoiled by AP
Message #194772
I bought a…dare I say it…a PC (gulp!) the other day. Yeah, I sold out, but who knows what Escom's gonna do, and after I got the "we're out of business" fax from GVP, I needed something which is going to be around and supported. But that's not the [point…
There is one specifically for the VFC model as well, though. I reconnected the 288, but I can only use it at 9600, anything higher and the characters start to flow. Thanks, for the response, Johnathan. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
So do I. Thanks. —via AutoPilot@14400 Lou Yurcsak
#Supra Mystery???
Message #192472
I've got an interesting problem. I have a Supra 288 modem vfc. I used the ROM flasher recently uploaded by Supra Tech Support. Ever since then if I try using the modem over 9600 bps then, say with AutoPilot, after it dials, and instead if the connect message I get…
It's a GVP, although I forget the make of the actual HD. I decided to return the scanner, I didn't want to risk ending up with a useless device, and be out the cash. it is unfortunate, I had such plans :). It's a pity, GVP's "tech support" sucks. —via…
Thanks Norman! Much to my chagrin I've decided to returm the scanner to the vendor. Rather than run the risk of ending up with an expensive dust catcher. I appreciate your help. —via AutoPilot@14400 Lou Yurcsak
Thanks, Dale: But how does this apply to those of us who still run 2.1? —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
Hi, Norm: I just checked by the I/O port ( forgive my ignorance, but that's the one which plugs into the side of the Amiga?). There is nothing which resembles what you describe, anywhere. I have four simms, could it be under these? though I doubt there's room. As to…
Hi, Norman! C.Davey replied to my message regarding the same basic problem: Migraph w/ GVP product. I have a GVP HD8, looking at GVP's docs where they refer to the terminating bus, they show a drawing of the resistor pack. Opening up the HD, I saw two such packs, yellow,…

#Migraph w/68000
Message #192199
I just got a Migraph 2400. reading the docs I now see where they require at least 68020 CPU or better. I wasn't told this by the vendor. I'm still running with 68000. Has anyone run Migraph sucessfully with only 68000? Should the answer to this be no, what alternative…
Syquest HD for 500?
Message #188166
I am interested in getting one of the Syquest removable hard drives, but I cannot figure out which one will be compatable with my sys. I have a basic A500, with a GVP HD that's running out of room, so I do have a SCSI port with that. —Speeding along…
#PC Task
Message #188165
Has anyone tried/used "PC Task"? I'm looking at Amiga Warehouse's ad for it. The ad states it is the only software run 80286 emulator, and can run Windows and other MS-DOS software. What I have in mind is to install this program, and then use one of the many MS-DOS…
#Final Copy to GPFAX
Message #187712
Dan: There's a neat little Arexx program called FinalFax which does this very nicely. You install it into FW's macros, when you write the doc you want to fax you start FinalFax, it check to see if GPFax is running, if not ask you if you want it started, then…
I don't recall, I'll have to check. If it does, that's all for Showjpeg as I haven't the Picasso. Thanks for the reply, Peter. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
PMFJI, I've had a 28.8 modem for a while now. Are you telling me ('cos no one else did) that I have to adjust the "link" speed accordingly? That's over in Prefs/Serial, right? That only goes up to 31k and change. I may need a hand here, too. —Speeding along…
Welcome Back! I just d/l'd Terminus, and it looks good, but why no support for the 288 fax modems? Like every other Term program you jump from 19200 to 31250 bps. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
h to i patch problem
Message #100238
I just downloaded the patch AB20I.Lha as the note stated it upgraded AB from 2.0h to 2.0i. I followed the directions, and when all was said and done I was informed I now had version 2.0h, which I already have. Could the wrong patch been uploaded?
Yeah, I know, Wolf, but at least I can address an envelope with the HP, even though I don't Arexx :). —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
##10Env w/ FW-4MP
Message #183219
While fiddling around with FinalWriter, I devised a way of addressing #10 commercial envelopes with the HP 4MP. As I cannot even order coffee in Arexx :), someone else is welcome to fiddle-on. Here, however, is what I came up with. Set the HP to COM10, and set up FW…
Hi Mark: Good question, however, I've been using Softsans to write all of the docs I've faxed, and when I view the fax prior to sending it, GPFax shows the doc as it was written complete with font. In fact, I sent myself a fax, because I wasn't certain it…
Thanks, Steve. I'm starting to get the feelings I had back when I was muddling along with 1.3, sheesh! —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
#Where's Mulitview?
Message #182895
Many of the programs I've d/l'd in the past have ahd docs which require Mulitview to read, yet I checked the Libraries LIB in the Tech forum, and it is not there. Can anyone point me in the right direction? or if you happen to have it please pack it…
…Okay, Dale…now that you've plugged your book, and certainly caught my eye, where can we get a copy from????Hhmmmm???? —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
Steve, you should be able to locate arp.library in the AmigaTech forum's Libraries LIB. Another bit of advice RE GIF_View, if you have a HD put it there instead of running it off of a floppy. I found 9 time out of 10 it could not convert any GIF image…

GIFs to IFFs
Message #179922
Check in the Amiga Arts forum's libs. There should be an excellent file titled, "GIF_View". I have used it for the same purpose you wish to, that is change GIF's to IFF for use, in this case, with Final Writer. It works quite well. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot…
#Changing Icons
Message #179792
Okay, Okay….I screwed up…I tried to change one of the icons on my HD, but instead of getting a new icon, I now have no icon. The files are still there, but I have no icon. I did this with another DIR, and re-installed it. But how should I do…

AVS Font problems
Message #177005
I downloaded AVS (AmigaVerseSearch) Bible software, and installed it on my HD, all works fine, except the font size appears to be to big for the program. Incertain spots they overlap each other. Has anyone else experienced this, and how can one remedy this? —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot…
Good, Jeff, tell me, please…. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
I'm running under 2.0, I didn't realize I had to "install" fonts, how does one do this? —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
I saw that, Paul, but when I tried using it with Final Writer all I kept getting was the default SoftSans. —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
#Triumvirate for FW
Message #173670
Is there a version the Triumvirate font somewhere in CIS which would be compatable with Final Writer? —Speeding along at 14400 via AutoPilot Lou Yurcsak
PMFJI… I don't know how far along you've gotten on this thread, but I downloaded Tif_view the other day, and it works fine. You might want to check this out, if you already haven't. —via AutoPilot@14400 Lou Yurcsak
Thanks, Bob. I tried it, the sys no longer requested the insertion of RexxMast. The Rexx window displayed a message stating that RexxMast was already running. I deleted RexxMast > NIL: from User-Startup, and Rexx still starts up . I had dragged the icon into the WB Startup window, it…

Message #43632
I am just getting into Arexx. According to the User's Guide, which came with the OS 2.0 upgrade, I am supposed to add REXXMAST>NIL: to the User-Startup. Now whenever I boot I get a requester asking that REXXMAST>NIL: be inserted. When I hit cancel the sys goes on and loads…
