Murph, You timed it just right. I just finished my first project. It's funny. I was hired to produce high end graphics and VR simulations. Although, the first day I arrived I set in on a meeting with Vending (Nabisco) and became a programmer. They had me design a laptop…
Tom, I apologize for the delay in this reply! I haven't had a chance to get on CIS in two weeks! I'll call you this week and discuss platform we chose and why. Maybe it will help you! Scott Nabisco
Jim, I apologize for the delay in this reply. I have been under the gun to finish a big project for sales and haven't even had the chance to check my email in two weeks. When things slow down I contact and we'll have good lauch at TPC's expense! Take…

If anyone out there using cyberspace has time for a couple questions please email me! Currently, I am an 3DS animator/production manager for Nabisco's Computer Based Training department. Your Welcome! If you have any more problems just call 🙂 scott
Paul, That's normal. Make sure you have your DPMI limit set high under the os/2 dos settings and you will have no problems! OS/2's swap file is dynamic (based upon an applications needs.) Scott
Harry, Download the file 3DSOS2.ZIP in the 3DS download section. It contains all the settings you will need. Scott

Message #140912
To anyone who is tired of doing a test renderings and then shutting down to remove the large Phar-Lap swap file. Move to WARP! OS/2 provides as much virtual RAM as 3DS needs. 3DS therefore never creates a swapfile! OS/2's swap file size is dynamic(based upon the need of 3DS).…

Message #140364
Could someone who has been using 3DS and WARP give me the preferred settings for an 3DS dos session. I currently render 3 % slower than dos 6.2 & EMM and my mouse is a little jerky. Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, Scott
Doug, >Warp doesn't support dual pentiums… yet< I meant to imply in my original statement, I knew that SMP was coming to WARP SMP. Windows NT is not an option currently for SMP and 3DS. WARP with the SMP extension would be. >the original question < TWAIN support for my…

Joseph, I missed the first of this thread but it sounds like you didn't pick the correct base bone in the skeletal hiearchy. By not picking the correct base, I have had no morph objects and incorrect placement if the ones I did receive in the key framer. Scott, Tennessee…
We finally agree! I suspect we wanted the same thing all along. I am especially looking forward to the 3D subsystem acceleration in Win 95 & NT. Now, I'm going to complicate things and say I am thinking about moving from Windows to OS/2 Warp. At least until I get…

#IPAS Compatibility
Message #134465
When Studio eventually moves to a new operating system (NT,Windows 95, etc), am I going to have to get all new IPAS Plug-ins? The collection I have now has become much larger than I would have expected 2 years ago. I am not looking forward to the logistics in upgrading!!!…

Gus, If your running Qemm check and see if you have v 7.0 – 7.2. If you do thats your problem. It seems versions 7.0-7.2 do not properly protect/allocate upper memory areas correctly. Especially to windows #$%#@ ! You can down load the new version from Quarterdeck's BBS. Now If…

Can anyone tell me the trick to smoothing a curved surface after doing a boolean subtraction on it. I'm tired of going in and editing point by point to adjust the angles. The surface seems to have hills and valleys along the edges of the boolean subtraction. Help!!! Scott
I'm not sure if that is enough contact information. I might need the longitude and latitude just to make sure. Scott Lunsford

Greg, Thanks again for the answers. We quoted between $10,000 and $20,000 based on the number of scenes/rooms to be created. I feel confident with that bid. He payed $4500 for a 30 second animation I did of his laser tag gun arena. BTW congraulations on "Pyros Films". I just…
