I have just posted the source, documentation, and executable files for "proff" to the DL's. "Proff" is a text formatting processor that is based on the FORMAT utility described in "Software Tools" by Kernighan and Plauger. This implementation was written by Ozan S. Yigit of the Dept. of Computer Science…

Bela … Thanks for the update on the MicroForge products. Seems like their "Developer" prices are about right considering the amount of competition, "newness" of the machine, etc. On that note, however (FLAME ON): I really hope this whole business of "Developer" vs. "Non-Developer" doesn't catch on with other companies.…

Bela .. I just got their phone number today. It's 404-949-5698. I called today, but all the technical types were out "beating the bushes" according to Shelly, the young lady that I spoke with. She did say that they had some of the hard-disks available NOW … wasn't too sure…

Well, it may not be perfect, but I still think DPaint is a 6 on a scale of 1 to 5 … love that program! Here's a "feature" I ran into the other day, and thought I'd let you know about it for (hopefully) some future release. I was in…

Developer's Kits Message #2715
From: Kim DeVaughn Forum unknown · SoftwareDevelopment December 22, 1985 10:36 PM
Got a question or two about the Developer's Kit. I finally got the package from CBM (V1.0 stuff, of course … sheeesh), and would like to setup a reasonable development environment for a 512K, 2-drive machine. What's the best way you've found to partition the files, libs, etc? Can the…

There is a new player in the 68020 piggy-back-board business! I talked to Tom Sargent, Persident of "IO Inc." today. They have a 68000/68881 board that replaces the 68000 available. It doesn't have provisions for on-board RAM or independent (faster) processor clocking like CSA's board does, but they are about…

Bela … Right you are on the 68020, but you *can* just "drop in" a 68010 if you have V1.1 s/w according to Bob P. at CBM (opening the Amiga case voids your warranty though). The CSA '020 board is $1480 (quantity of ONE); $1985 with the 256K. I dunno…

(Sigh.) The messages that I posted titled "SuperAmiga" really look terrible! I had them reasonablly well formatted before I sent them but I guess the CIS editors don't respect leading spaces and such. Guess I'll have to wait until CIS gets around to sending me the User Guide that I…
