Which library is AUTOPILOT in & what is the file name? The "finder" didn't come up with it in either AUser or ATech Libs Thanks adrian
Tom, Do you still use your ELF II ever? Mine is right here beside me as I type this. But my terminal board no longer works, and I haven't used it since 1986 when I bought my first Amiga. Actually, I bought the Amiga because I was upgrading my ELF…
Carl, Thanks for the information. I am happy to say that it turns out the printing element of my Primera was *not* faulty. I had rotated a very large image in ImageFX2 and was attempting to print it. Somehow the simple 90 degree rotation had introduced a streak-like artifact into…
Hmmmm..What version of the Cyber sw were you using? Are you using WB3.1 or 2.x? Thanks for the info! One of the reasons I was excited about getting the sw for the picasso (since the author of the orig. pic. sw is writing this)was that I could take advantage of…
but i understand he is pretty nice in his personal life. Go figure.
David, Have you got the "Forign file access" extension installed? you need about 5 different extensions to make a Mac CD drive read everything.. (can't remember what they are though..) ok, you twisted my arm, I'll go look.. (boots Emplant and struggles to read through the mess Picasso makes of…
Umm .. did you get around to reading that article about how transistors work yet, Betty? 🙂 Jim
> Great! Now for Workbench v4.0 to come out w/memory management, built-in networking, aspect-corrected window bar sliders, etc.! < Not to mention RTG! That would be very important for all us ECS Amiga users with graphics cards. Jim
> I just ordered the Cybergraphx sw for my Picasso so hope to get even more into it! < Mike, good luck with that Cybergraphx software! I have/had it for my Picasso II equiped 3000, but had more problems with it than it was worth. I ended up going back…
> The latest version of Personal paint (6.4) comes on a cd called "The personal suite" from Colanto and is -excellent- value for money < > Over-all I like it! < Steve, thanks for the review! Hope Asha reads it too. One question, when you're in 256 color mode, does…
> I`ll let you know how good it is when I get it.. < Steve, I'll look forward to that! Thanks. Jim
Don – I just tried doing what you suggested. I didn't see any default setting. I already had it set to other and tried using some of the others but nothing made a difference. I then tried appending the *tty to my user_id but the system kept saying invalid id.…
Werner, I just ran AutoCad in Dos to see how my mouse works. It is just perfect. I'm wondering if you have a memory management problem. I know that I had a problem before if Amouse was loaded before the memory manager. You do have to load the Memory manager…
Thanks Don. I'll give it a try. -Jack
How do I tell what kind of chip it is? -Jack

Thanks Stuart – it does. Jack

Steve, DARN!! I knew I'd run into problems not having a CD-ROM drive!! Sigh… Well, hopefully by the time I'm ready to upgrade from the SE version I should get with my A4000T/060, I'll have installed a CD-ROM drive in that beastie…..:) Asha @}–,–`–
Peter, I don't know what caused your system to quit during a download but I suspect you'll have to start over from scratch again with the d/load. Sorry you had problems. Asha @}–,–`–
Frederick, To solve the OS 3.1 problem, I suggest you buy the software from one of the mail order houses (or a local dealer if you're lucky enough to have one) and re-install it. You may wind up with even more problems running 2.04 on a 3.1 ROM. You may…
Gregory, Thanks for the additional address. I did just ge another issue of AmigaComputing today (says Issue 4, no date). It looks to be a bit more recent than the other ones I've gotten, and if it keeps coming every month like this, I may re-think my stand on subscribing.…
Mike, Thanks, didn't know that. I got my first version from NorthWest Public Domain, who are no longer in business (sold out to Zipperware). But I got my upgrade from someone else, unfortunately I can't remember who…sigh…. I hear there's another version coming out soon. < Don't get fooled by…
Norman, It does seem that different people have different problems when it comes to DPaint V the Picasso and OS 3.1. I have a friend who can load it up fine (A3000/OS 3.1/Picasso) but when he clicks on anything the whole system freezes. It's really a shame they didn't take…
Looking For A Miracle!
Message #217000
Recently as part of the purchase of an A2000 system we received a Miracle Keyboard system. This has turned out to be VERY popular with my students with about a dozen of my students using it to learn to play the keyboard. (I teach a program for gifted students in…
Note that MegageM has provided and continues to provide several versions of LCD shutter glasses sets for the Amiga community and 3D stereoscopic graphics/video/VR. Prices range from $219 to $399.
I also prefer Brilliance to Dpaint IV especially for animation but I am very interested in hearing what people have to say about Personal Paint! Especially if it supports Picasso modes, even if that means you cant Gen- lock onto the signal. Does anyone know if one of the PeeCee…
Thanks, I'm saving my pennies for a great big new multisync but unless my ship comes in it will be a while,
Thanks, Im still trying to get brilliance to work though. Are you using it?
Thanks, I think I understand now.. I guess a better way to end the screen promotion problem would be to have a multiscan monitor. What I have done is just leave my RGB connected to my 1084 and have two monitors, I just have to watch how close together they…
I had to adjust the monitor some too. The screen I get is very small and everthing is miniature. I have hooked my 1084 back up and Dpaint IV works but Brilliance still does not. Evidently there is a conflict caused just by having the card installed. thanks
Dick, Good advice! I shall take it. Thanks, Pete

#ShapeShifter CDroms?
Message #216989
Does anyone know how to get Shapeshifter to read ISO 9660 CDroms? I have tried the apple extension for 9660 disks. Nothing seems to work. I'm using EMPCD. I can't get the Apple CD software to work to read CDs without EMPCD. David Kay Flying in from Montreal.
Joachim, Thanks, you explained the great socket.lib mystery ! I knew I had read the answer from Chris but forgot what it was. I'll figure out Thor's use. One of these days someone will say the magic words or I'll play around with it 'til I get something useful. Gracia,…
Choosing a PS Laser
Message #216984
I've a Panasonic KX-P5400 Postscript LED printer, 300 dpi which can now be had new for as little as $350. A great little printer for the Amiga that also handles HP-format bitmap output. The Postscript Level 2 function alone is worth the price. Plus it has an expansion port for…
"We have enabled others access to our HMI protocol" is clever doublespeak from the Compuserve rep. Note he didn't say "all others."
AFS Professional
Message #216979
I'll accept that, though iIt's hard to understand why DiskExpander wouldn't work with AFS while XPK does, given that XPK is an optional compression method under DE, and DE itself seems only to be a Workbench interface. The only other thing DE wouldn't work with was Autopilot for Compuserve, which…
Thanks for the reply Asha. The greatest font builder of all time. Do you still have two ahem, men in your life? I remember you from the old bulletin board days. I've been gone from the states for a while. I want to say Hi. Take care.
Their phone number is 1-800-345-3360.
Hi Erik, I was wondering if you had sold your A3000 w/040 accel. ?? If you still have it, what's the best offer you've gotten so far, I'm interested in it ?? Also, after seeing your posts on the various Amiga forums, and realizing that you really are making a…

Ray, Are you happy with Mr. Guru? What model amiga do you have and do you have ram on your GVP board? What kind of transfer rate are you getting on SynInfo? And, what percent CPU use? I've got a 2000 with a PPS040/28 board with 32Mb of 32bit ram,…
#Syquest crashing Amiga
Message #216973
I hope some of you out there with experience on Syquest drives can help me out. I just installed an internal 270 Syquest and mounted it where my internal second floppy (DF1) used to be. I've connected the drive up to my GVP SCSI board as unit 6, and it…
Hi David, The best of my recollection, you need to add 512K to the expansion card bay to see 1MB of chip RAM from the 1MB Agnus. I don't believe the 512K sockets were every implemented. Hnka Videology, Inc Where you always get P.O.M.P. and Service under all circumstances
Hi Dale, Haven't yet received any info from IAM, so could you drop some product info and dealer info to us. Thanks. Videology, Inc. Box 512 Newtown, CT 06470 Hank Videology, Inc Where you always get P.O.M.P. and Service under all circumstances
