#22026 pattern problems Message #22044
From: Jamie Clay [Adesk] Autodesk · General April 20, 1988 12:30 PM
Ok fine, but I was thinking this may be a good tip to keep around in case someone else does the same thing. Can you (when you have the time) outline for me a step by step that creates then solves the problem. Maybe there is a bug hiding in…
#22025- FILL USING AUTOSKETCH Message #22043
From: Jamie Clay [Adesk] Autodesk · AutoSketch April 20, 1988 12:30 PM
At this time the only way to do filled areas is the method you described. It is on the wishlist to have wide lines and fill/hatch abilities. Jamie
#22022 adikit.arc Message #22041
From: Jamie Clay [Adesk] Autodesk · General April 20, 1988 12:29 PM
I'm sorry but that information is out of date, at least as far as the ADIKIT.ARC goes. The Documentation for the ADI kit is here on line in a file called ADIDOC.ARC but we now only distribute the complete kit through direct mail or an Authorized Autodesk dealers. It costs…
#22025- FILL USING AUTOSKETCH Message #22040
From: Steve McCall [ADESK] Autodesk · AutoSketch April 20, 1988 11:57 AM
In AutoSketch, to fill an area you must use multiple lines, arcs, etc. which are drawn or copied. The Standard version of AutoCAD has solid fill capabilities, and the "full" version (AutoCAD with ADE 3) has crosshatching pattern fill. =SM=

From: JIM MC MILLAN Autodesk · AutoCAD April 20, 1988 7:41 AM
Craig, Yes that's the basic I wrote the PD program "PlotMate" on. I have a small routine that will extract info and write it out to a file in a "CDF" format. Then I have a template for PCFile and DBASE, whichever I decide to use that will import the…

From: LEN MILLER Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 20, 1988 6:53 AM

#Transient thanks Message #22032
From: LEN MILLER Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 20, 1988 6:52 AM
Thanks for your response, Brad. I just peeked at ACAD's SETUP.LSP, and sure enough, a transient type of program! Now I would like to look up that function you suggested but my transmission of your message must have glitched at the wrong moment. Here's what it looks like … ..…
#Autosketch & VGA Message #22031
From: Mark Snyder Autodesk · AutoSketch April 19, 1988 11:57 PM
Hi! I have Autosketch Enhanced, and have recently purchased a Paradise VGA+ board. I was wondering if you folks have developed, or are planning to develop, a VGA driver for PS/2 or 100% compatible VGA boards. Would be really nice to have the extra resolution…..Also, an old question from me:…
#21996 Chase Systems Message #22030
From: – CHESTER MILLER Autodesk · 3rd Party Software April 19, 1988 11:19 PM
Steve, apparently we made some small error in the installation procedure. Our local dealer was able to solve the problem. It seems that the CEMM driver (provided with the Compaq 386) was causing the prob. The driver allows the 386's extended mem. to work as expanded, we assume that created…
#22026 pattern problems Message #22029
From: Lansing Pugh Autodesk · General April 19, 1988 11:02 PM
Well, never mind. .. I just copied acad2.ovl and acadvs.ovl from the R9 originals and the problem disappeared. .. .. Gee, Jamie. Hope you didn't lose any sleep over this. ..
From: Lansing Pugh Autodesk · General April 19, 1988 10:39 PM
Steve, .. The resolution of the Nth is 640×480 on the Multisync. .. I think you would find the image substantially crisper and easier to work with than the Sigma. You will wonder how you put up with the Sigma for so long. .. Good luck in your decision-making. ..…

#21937 ACAD/AEC Message #22021
From: Craig Sharp [Mem TM] Autodesk · Videophile April 19, 1988 8:15 PM
Cliff: All much appreciated. I have my own reasons for wishing ACAD/AEC to be the best. Please see my messages to Dave Sly, #21929 & 21931. I think I can safely say that, of all the packages I have seen, if ACAD and ARRIS had the best of each, the…

#21976- pattern problems Message #22013
From: Jamie Clay [Adesk] Autodesk · General April 19, 1988 5:33 PM
Lansing, I don't have that program. There can be a problem with Hatch files that don't have a carriage return after the last line. Double check that. But the report I just read says nothing about ALLOC errors. Arc and send me the hatch pattern and I will see if…

#21969 ..runs out of ram Message #22010
From: Jamie Clay [Adesk] Autodesk · AutoCAD April 19, 1988 5:33 PM
That is the first I have heard of the 64 "threshold". The truth of the matter is that if you ask for a "too much" ACADFREERAM you will indeed get the most possible, but I could not find any information that says 64 is the switching point. Jamie

#21978 ENCRYPT LISP? Message #22008
From: John Intorcio ADS TM Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 19, 1988 5:07 PM
Len- I think I saw the same add and I think that program is basically a rip off (either intentional or not) of Autodesk's own Kelvinator. What these programs do is replace the variable names with nonsense names and remove all the carriage returns, spaces, and tabs. What results is…

draftmaster plots Message #22005
From: Keith Taylor Autodesk · AutoCAD April 19, 1988 4:17 PM
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get long plots (i.e. 72" X 36") from a Draftmaster II using Release 9. I have tried LONG PLOT from REAS, but it I am not really pleased with it. Any Suggestions would be appreciated.
#AutoSketch Plot Box Message #22003
From: Tim Worley Autodesk · AutoSketch April 19, 1988 3:00 PM
Could you tell me where in AutoSketch's code the tables are stored that tell AutoSketch the size limitations for the plot box (based on configured plotter)? If I could patch it there, I wouldn't have to always tell AutoSketch that it's OK that my plot box is "larger than the…
#21983 ACAD.LSP Message #22000
From: Steve McCall [ADESK] Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 19, 1988 12:55 PM
Stan, ACAD.LSP doesn't exist unless you create a file with that name. You would use this file to store any commonly-used LISP routines that you want to be loaded automatically every time you enter the drawing editor. =SM=
#21965 config.sys Message #21999
From: Steve McCall [ADESK] Autodesk · AutoCAD April 19, 1988 12:54 PM
Warner, maybe it was a typo but your message said that both your LISPHEAP and LISPSTACK were set at 100000. This won't affect your out-of-environment message, but LISPHEAP and LISPSTACK together should not exceed 45000. Try something like SET LISPHEAP=39000 and SET LISPSTACK=5000. Brad has a good suggestion for the…

#21923 Chase Systems Message #21996
From: Steve McCall [ADESK] Autodesk · 3rd Party Software April 19, 1988 12:54 PM
Chester, does the "Fatal error LTINIT2" message only occur with one drawing or several or all? There is apparently a problem reading a linetype table in the drawing file. The drawing file or ACAD.LIN may be damaged or corrupted, or possibly the prototype drawing has a problem in this area.…
#21916 postscript NEC890 Message #21995
From: Steve McCall [ADESK] Autodesk · AutoCAD April 19, 1988 12:54 PM
Kauko, the communication parameters for the PostScript device should be 9600 baud, even parity, 7 bits, 1 stop bit, and XON/XOFF protocol. Use a MODE statement like: MODE COM1:9600,E,7,1 and MODE LPT1=COM1. =SM=

#21982 Transient Autolisp? Message #21989
From: Training [ADESK] Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 19, 1988 11:20 AM
Len — You've called it pretty close. When you LOAD a file, AutoLISP redirects standard input from the keyboard to the file, so for all intents and purposes, LOADing a file works the same as if you had typed in the expressions at the keyboard. Did you know that there…
#21983 ACAD.LSP Message #21988
From: Training [ADESK] Autodesk · Talk to the Trade April 19, 1988 11:20 AM
Stan — We don't supply an ACAD.LSP file with the current release of AutoCAD. The document you refer to is implying that AutoCAD will automatically load and evaluate any expressions found in ACAD.LSP should you want to create a file of this name yourself. This is a very popular practice.…
