#PAS & Bernoulli
Message #675
Jack, As a PAS-16 user with an Iomega Insider-90 Bernoulli drive in the same 486 desktop, I've been considering the possibility of saving a slot by switching the connection to my Bernoulli drive from its proprietary 8-bit PC2B adapter to my PAS-16. I understand Trantor's SCSI-Works package would enable me…

#Sony CD-ROM drivers
Message #668
Hey — I've got a Sony CDU-6101 CD-ROM drive with a Sony controller that I can't get to work. I'm hoping that a newer driver for it will do the trick. (I've already tried the latest MSCDEX.EXE from DOS 6, which didn't help.) Does anybody know if Sony maintains a…
#T4400/T338/Texel DM5020?
Message #666
My company has purchased 4 T338 MiniSCSI ports to be used on the Toshiba 4400 and 5200 computer connected to a Texel DM-5020 CD Rom player. However, when loading TSLCD.SYS with the Texel connected, I receive "Warning: No SCSI host adapters detected." Texel says I also need to load MA338.SYS.…
#OS2 2.1 & T228
Message #665
I have an IBM PS/2 model 56slc, and have installed a trantor 228 to drive an NEC CDR-73 (they came together). I purchased OS/2 2.1 on CD and have had little luck installing. Intermittent read errors, retry gets me only so far, never at the same point. Word is that…

Paul, Thanks for the vote of confidence. No, work doesn't get in the way too much most of the time — maybe it should. But since I'm the boss, I can get away with it 😉 I ought to make clear perhaps that I may not be very impartial about…

>>doesn't use DMA…it is i/o mapped. (sigh) Just when I thought I was starting to figure out what was going on, too… OK, thanks, I guess it's time to start playing swap-the-card. Thanks. Dave
Very interesting I look forward to you appraisal of the various authoring software packages.. May I just chuck twopence or is it a dime in your lingo in.. I think you do a great job in here Kathy…I only hope your work doesnt interfere with it too much… Paul
While Books In Print/Plus is not designed specifically for use in retrospective conversions, it can be useful. Here are a few examples of how it has been used: One library system works with the Custom display format option to select which fields in the database will be displayed and/or saved.…

I didn't even know there was an IRQ jumper on the card. What IRQ will it be using if I do what you suggest? I'm not even sure my card has those jumers since its not a T128, exactly. Its an OEM version of it that was done for NEC.

The T130 doesn't use DMA… it is i/o mapped. If you have DMA conflicts, it ain't with the SCSI card! You should check the IRQ, though. Remember, OS/2 won't let you share interrupts between different devices.

PAS16 & SCSIWorks
Message #646
The PAS with our SCSIworks! software will support just about any SCSI hard disk drive on the market. Since MegaDrive uses standard SCSI drives, it should work with no problem… you just won't be able to boot from the SCSI drive since the PAS has no boot rom on it.…

#T128SCSI.ADD & OS/2 2.1
Message #645
The T128 uses the standard 8 bit interrupts, 3, 5, and 7. With os/2, you need to use IRQ 5 to install it properly. For audio with OS/2, you need to use the appropriate .FLT file with OS2CDROM.DMD for SCSI-1 drives. SCSI-2 drives should get audio with just OS2CDROM.DMD through…
#Config DMA in T130?
Message #644
Jack, Is there any way to change the DMA channel on a T130? I'm assuming it uses DMA 1. I'm getting DMA conflicts with a Soundblaster card under OS/2 2.1, and it's an old card that can't be changed from DMA 1. If your answer is no, wanna buy a…

Load Audio from CD(ROM)
Message #637
It works well now, but as I said, it wasn't easy. We get reproducable data grabs. There is frame drift, but our software corrects that. It has to be streamed to hard disk before it can be recorded.
