Geoffrey, Their have been NO fixes, patches or updates to this software. It has proved to be quite solid. I would look at is memory. Do you have enough to mount a volume that is (6 x 1.4 GB)? This is the standard RAM calculation that you would used if…

Barry, Now that I've found this I will drop a line here as well . Ok, the ASPI manager for the ALWAYS IN2000 is ASPIDRVR.SYS. Our Generic ASPI manager for the ADAPTEC 1540 and BUSLOGIC 540 series aof controllers is ASPIDRV.SYS. Please note the diference. I think that it was…

Matsushita makes the drive, Panasonic distributes it, we OEMed it. I hope this clears up some things. Laszlo
From: Bryan Shearer Corel Forum · CorelSCSI! November 15, 1993 9:55 AM
Barry, The problem is probably the ASPI manager. There has been a flurry of activity with the ALWAYS IN2000's ASPI manager. If you are using the one that shipped with our software, you may want to try downloading from ASLWAYS version 12 or even 12.8. I hope this helps. Laszlo
From: Bryan Shearer Corel Forum · CorelSCSI! November 15, 1993 9:55 AM
This message normally means that the ASPI manager for the SCSI controller that you are using is not loaded. If we find no ASPI manager we default to installing our own. This has been change so taht no ASPI amanger is installed if none is found. If you ensure that…

Rich, I actually had the TAHOE working on our old sotware version 1.01f today. No problems. With the drive connected, go to the SCSI Config icon. ADD a device for us to control with the appropriate host number, id and lun. Once this is done a drive list will appear,…

Darrell, The cartridge cannot be initialized while it is mounted. Dismount the cartridge and please try again. The Panasonic drive has been certified with SCSI version 1.0 for MAC. I hope this helps. Laszlo

Larry, The message that you are getting regarding SYS$MSG.DAT being the wrong version is because somewhere in the path there exists another version of this file. The C-WORTHY interface is a popular one. Reduce the path and search path parameters to those directories only that contain our software (perhaps Public…
From: Bryan Shearer Corel Forum · CorelSCSI! November 11, 1993 10:50 AM
Richard, Some very good questions. Currently Corel has the capability to read and write to existing ADAPTEC bios, ASPIDISK, SyQUEST, BERNOULLI, COREL, and other DOS formats. Unfortunately the other drivers are not so robust. If the Trantor // to SCSI converter has an ASPI manager, I would try our drivers…

#85600 Corel Raid & NW 3.12 Message #85717
From: Bryan Shearer Corel Forum · CorelSCSI! November 11, 1993 10:50 AM
Darnell, I think that every one is aware and agrees that there are differences between Netware 3.11 and the supposed 'just all patches loaded' Neware 3.12. We are currently certifying our software inhouse to ensure that the next release of the product is Netware 3.12 and Netware 4.0 compatible. This…

Peter, With the 1520/22 chip set the card defaults to syncronous communication. This may hinder the capability of the controller to talk to the drive. On the ASPI line in the config.sys add a /U-. This disables host initiated synchronous communication. Now, for the error message. It is hard to…

Ernie… That does sound like an abnormally long wait. You might want to have your drive tested. What version of CorelSCSI drivers are you using? (1.2 is the latest, and is available as a free upgrade if you don't have it yet, although I don't think the drivers have anything…

Franck… We have not tested our drivers with this board as of yet, but I've been informed by some users that there is an ASPI manager available for the card, made by Trantor, which does allow you to use our drivers with the PAS-16 SCSI interface. I can't vouch for…

Walter… I wouldn't go as far as saying that Toshiba is providing poor support, although I'm suprised that you have to send the drive all the way to the U.S. Toshiba Italy really should provide a better solution than sending it stateside. Aside from this, I must say that they…

From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · Drives/Hardware June 7, 1993 7:25 AM
Tim… What kind of SCSI card do you have? Our CorelSCSI drivers go for a suggested list price of $99 (U.S.), and would give you a wide range of support, but we require the use of a card that has an ASPI manager provided with it. Yours, Bryan

Norman… No sweat… you probably are close . Multi-sessioning refers to the number of times a CD has been written to. In the past, CDs have been single session, all the information on them being written in one shot. Now, CD's are gaining the ability of being written to multiple…

Norman… Just for your friend's peace of mind… while the 3301 is not upgradable to a 3401, the drive -is- upgradable to being multi-session XA capable! You need to contact Toshiba for this… they'll require you to send the drive in, and I think it'll cost somewhere around $99. Hope…

#43864 Toshiba/Adaptec Message #44073
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · DOS, Windows, OS/2 March 25, 1993 10:34 AM
Mark… Our CorelSCSI device drivers will support ASPI driven cards, such as the Adaptec 1740, although I should point out that the 1740 is not yet certified with our drivers. (In other words, it would probably work fine, but that's not gauranteed yet…) You might actually already have the drivers…

#43901 Tosh 3401 & SBPRO Message #44070
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · Drives/Hardware March 25, 1993 10:33 AM
Bruce… Do you mean to connect the 3401 directly to the SBPro through it's `SCSI' connector? If so, I doubt you'll get it going. The SBPrs's `SCSI' connector is not -really- SCSI (this I've been told by the techs at Creative Labs), and you can only use certain proprietary drives…

Roger… I'll be posting an answer to you in the Corel forum as well, but suffice it to say that I have a Toshiba 3301B, an LS-2000 SCSI card (8-bit), and am using ICOM's Sherlock II with no problems at all. It sounds to me as if there's a potential…
#41546 #EZ-SCSI & Photo CD Message #41651
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · DOS, Windows, OS/2 March 2, 1993 9:08 AM
Jeff… If I could cut in here for a moment, I'd like to clarify something here for everyone, as everyone seems to have this mistaken idea; Corel has had nothing (repeat: -nothing-) to do with the developement of Adaptec's EZ-SCSI software! EZ-SCSI is, was, always has been entirely Adaptec's baby.…
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · DOS, Windows, OS/2 January 11, 1993 7:58 AM
Chris… As far as I know, the relationship is that Adaptec and Corel aggreed to combine our products in the SCSI Direction Plus and SCSI Master Plus kits. The EZ-SCSI solution that Adaptec is offering is not related in any way to our drivers… from what I understand it's a…

Manfred… Forgive me for cutting in, but just thought I'd mention that if you had CorelSCSI, you would be able to get audio from your CD-ROM. CorelDRAW and CorelSCSI are two different packages; CorelSCSI is available through software vendors for a suggested retail price of $99 U.S. The driver package…
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · DOS, Windows, OS/2 January 4, 1993 9:46 AM
Albert… Pardon me for jumping in here… just wanted to confirm that CorelSCSI drivers will allow you to support audio on any CD-ROM that we've provided drivers for (with the current exception of the Texel 3024/5024 drives, but this is only due to recent drive firmware changes, which have now…

#31689 Toshiba XM-3301B Message #31766
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · Drives/Hardware November 26, 1992 2:59 PM
Paul… Have you added the /XA parameter to your device driver line (CUNI_ASP.SYS)? If not, that would explain why you can't read the CD-ROM. The drive has to be set to allow XA mode, and this switch will do it. Unlike some drives, the Toshiba is capable of accessing ISO…
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · DOS, Windows, OS/2 November 26, 1992 2:38 PM
Hal… Sorry, Hal, but currently I would think that the format's are probably too different to be compatible. I can't confirm this positively, as we haven't a Trantor card to test with (yet…). Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you! Yours, Bryan
From: Bryan Shearer CDROM Forum · DOS, Windows, OS/2 November 23, 1992 10:59 AM
Chris… HEY!!!! We're still very much alive, kicking, and our own company!! Adaptec is bundling our drivers with their 1522 and 1542 SCSI cards, in solutions called the SCSI Direction Plus and the SCSI Master Plus, respectively. But CorelSCSI on it's own can be obtained from your local dealer, via…
