Hi Wayne. This bug has actually always been around; it is in fact a bug in the ExAll() routine in some versions of kickstart 2.0 (it returns comments as BSTRs instead of normal CSTRs like it is supposed to). You are right, turning ExAll() off will make the problem go…
#DirOpus 4.0 Bug
Message #52666
The auto-upgrade club is only for major upgrades, not minor bug-fixes. I suggest you call the toll-free number and enquire as to 4.03. Jon
Hi Dom, the bug you report has been fixed and an update is available. The current version is 4.03, and I BELIEVE that it is a free update. Call Inovatronics on 1-800-875-8499 for more information. Jon
I'm not sure about the answer to your question, Charlie, but you can call the makers of TurboPrint directly in Germany at 08341/74327. I'm sure they can give you a complete answer. Martin
The default configuration is already set up to archive files using Arc, Zoo and Lha. These functions are accessable from the Function pull-down menu. If you want to examine the configuration of these functions you can from the Menus section in the configuration program. Jon

Still waiting 4 four-oh!

Sorry about that Thomas, I don't know how you were overlooked! Most auto- upgraders in Europe have already been processed, but I have looked at your record and can see that it is not yet done. Sorry again. Do you want the English or the German version of 4.0? Martin…

CanDo problem
Message #51999
You can have more than 1 window, but you need to use SubDecks. For an example of this, see the example called NewPhone, or any of the files in the drawer called ComplexExamples. Martin
I have to ask JonP about this SortMethod problem and see what he says. I'll be back in touch. Martin – via Whap!
Thanks very much, Dom. Martin – via Whap!
Andrew, please fax the form again and we will send both updates at the same time! Save a little shipping costs for you. Martin – via Whap!
Thank you, thank you. I am away off for the weekend starting today, so have a nice weekend, everyone! Enjoy Opus! People in Europe, despair not. We begin shipping updates next week! Martin – via Whap!
Andrew, I have you in the database for the Opus Auto Upgrade Club, but not for the CanDo club. Correct? – via Whap!
My only message on this subject will be this: I do not mind, in any way, complaints being aired in this forum. I am happy to hear about problems when they exist and will do everything that I can to solve them. We do use this forum to both promote…
Dominick, I don't remember that I failed to respond to any messages to me, but it is possible. Between May 21 and some date in late June I was without a modem as I was relocating to Germany. The person from our company who was supposed to be handling this…
Donovan, Glad you like the new Opus! There was no possibility to resize the directory windows in the previous version of Opus, hence no shortcut keys either. The Directory tree was there before. You could make an ARexx script and have it send the correct commands to Opus to scan…
Robert you can adjust the font used on the buttons and in that way get more or less text into each button. Exactly which parameters are you passing to SortMethod? Martin – via Whap!
Andrew, I am running out European office and we have only this week received an inventory of Opus upgrades from the U.S. to send to European customers. We will start sending those out to Auto Upgrade Club Members next week, and the credit card charge will be going through at…
I hope that the next upgrade will go more smoothly Donovan, and that you like the new software. I do! Martin – via Whap!
Sorry about the crooked disk label. The disk duplicating service can make mistakes from time to time. For the rest of your comments, please see my earlier message. Martin – via Whap!
Dominick, I have sent a message to the Dallas office asking them to change your zip code. I will follow up with them to make sure that they do. The zip code problem does not account for the shipping delay, however. I have spoken with our U.S. Sales Manager and…
Wayne, I had that problem myself with the search functions in Opus 3.41 and earlier. I have just tried it now and it is definitely fixed. Have no fear. Martin – via Whap!
Ric, at the moment the method that John Pendergrass demonstrated is the only one I can recommend, except for using the DetachObject and ReattachObject commands. With these commands you can detach a button or field, and use the ClearWindow command (or other graphic commands) to remove the representation of the…
Which version of DOpus are you using, Robert? Martin – via Whap!
You can use your Opus 3.40 or 3.41 config files with the new 4.0 version, no problem. However, config files from 3.22 or earlier are not compatible. There is so much new stuff there, it will be more fun to start from scratch anyway! Martin – via Whap!
Bill, we are readying a program now called Appbuilder. It is a professional quality application interface builder for Amiga 2.0 and 3.0 only, although it is possible to create interfaces for 1.3 target machines. It should be available this Spring, and there will be an upgrade path for PowerWindows owners…
Wayne, Yes the problem of de-arcing a file to its own directory is fixed (I asked and tested it myself with an .lha file). Also, of course, the Enforcer hits are all gone. Martin – via Whap!
#Your Opus order
Message #49531
Robert, they tell me in Dallas that your Opus upgrade has already shipped out. Have you gotten it yet? Sorry for the long delay, but they have trouble finding individual order status right now because they are completely swamped by the incredibly high demand for Opus 4.0. Anyway, it is…
Of course there will be a mailing to registered users, Karl. We are simply so overwhelmed so far with orders already that we haven't gotten to it yet. However, I know it is underway. Martin – via Whap!
Suggestion noted. Thanks Dominick. Happy New Year, by the way! Martin
Well, maybe Summer is about right. Sounds feasible. Martin
Vance, I guess it does support displays that size; I just flipped over to CanDo and made a 16 color display 1280×400 and it worked fine. Your titler project sounds interesting. Let us know how it goes. Martin – via Whap!
Thanks for the info, Patrick. Happy New Year, yourself! Martin – via Whap!
OK, then, one last question. Is any sort of support software required other than the system software of AmigaDOS 2.x or 3.x? Thanks for your help and Happy New Year! Martin – via Whap!
Greg, please send me EMail with your name and address and I will contact you about the upgrade right away. Thanks. Martin – via Whap!
Yes, I am still in Germany. Running the Inovatronics GmbH office at the moment. You are the second person to ask about why they have received nothing so far via the Auto-pgrade club. I have checked the database I have (not entirely up to date) and you are not listed…
Right you are Robert. I expect to have an answer back today about your update order status. I will let you know. Martin – via Whap!
Sorry, Art. CanDo uses it's own custom screen. The only thing you can change about it is the brush that makes up the Main Panel. This brush can be edited for color and so on. It is in the CanDoFiles directory. Martin – via Whap!
Jeff, CanDo does not yet support the new AGA graphics. I don't really know what the schedule for support is, but I know it will come. Of course, many people want it and have already asked for it. It is high on our priority list. Martin – via Whap!
Sorry, but Opus 4.0 does not support sub-menus. Martin – via Whap!
Michael, your order will be handled by our new European office (me!), so please email me with your name and address and I will make sure you get upgrade information right away. Martin – via Whap!
Dominick, I have asked Dallas and your order is definitely already on its way to you. It was shipped by UPS. I didn't get the date, sorry. Martin – via Whap!
Robert, I am still awaiting word about the status of your order for Opus 4.0. They have a little confusion over it. Did you make it by CC or by check? Maybe you have already gotten it? Martin – via Whap!
Does this mean I cannot even use the Syquest at all with the 2090A? Of course I need to replace the controller. I have wanted to do so for a long time, but the problem has been a time shortage, naturally. Anyway, at this time I would simply like to…
Thanks for the great message, Patrick! I really appreciate the time spent. Martin – via Whap!
Chris, the mail-order price of Opus 4.0 will DEFINITELY be more than $40.00. The new price for Opus is $99.95 and it is simple economics that even the mail-order prices will be higher than before. Martin – via Whap!
Richard, in this case the cost of the product has gone up. That is why the upgrade cost for the new Opus is higher. Martin – via Whap!
Syquest Beginner Qstns!
Message #83035
Does anyone have a couple of good pointers for someone just getting started with a Syquest 88mb hard drive system? I have an Amiga 2500 system with an A2090A controller. Maybe some doc files or something similar exists here on CIS with advice about how to set it up, set…
Robert, I will check with the office. I checked the database myself and found your record but no information about Auto Upgrade Club membership. Anyway, I am sure that your Opus is on its way now, or by early this coming week. Martin – via Whap!
I have also posted a complete DOpus 4.0 fact sheet in the AmigaVend INOVAtronics section. Martin – via Whap!
