#11420 #TS 2.0 & DXF Files Message #11451
From: Ian Firth Gfx User Group A Forum · trueSpace UG May 5, 1995 5:37 PM
Rob, The new Exploder is great! $15 on it's way to you…. Also, I am using it for one (of many) scenes in the game as a laser cuts through a ship hull, the wall gives way and explodes outward, as debris pours into the vacuum. I would like to…

>how can I speed it up (or check if it's broken) ? >ps. I have an ATI Graphics Pro Turbo (mach 64) 4 meg Local-Bus card on a 486-33 with lots-o-RAM. Hmm… The ATI should have no problem playing video. On a 486/33, you should be able to play 320×240@15fps…
#11375 Coarse Textures Message #11390
From: Ian Firth Gfx User Group A Forum · trueSpace UG May 4, 1995 6:11 PM
I just tried the same thing, and it did work. I would recommend using a 24 bit image for this trick, and make sure the blend has no visible demarkations when viewed as an image. Ian

>Yes, you can do that. Just select the UV Projection tool and rotate the wire-frame representation of the map using >the Object Rotate tool. Then click Apply. And don't forget to turn on grid snap for precise alignment….. Butting in as usual… Ian
#11376 Object Construction Message #11388

Paul, >Is the bevel option particularly dodgy because I use it a lot and often it dumps me out to DOS and it may be these >problems are occuring when the object has been bevelled. This sounds like memory problems, or lack of a coprocessor, and may be the cause…

Shane, I spent many months tracking this problem down with the SB 16s… I actually had to downgrade various drivers to get rid of the problem. Check the dates of your SB16 drivers with these below, and let me know if you have newer. I have had many problems with…

Mateen, >I'm running with about 570k DOS memory does this sound too little? That's before Windows loads. After Windows loads you will have much less. My systems usually have around 180k-210k available after Windows is up, but that can drop dramatically depending on what apps are running. When it hits…
#11285 Cropping a scene Message #11288

Michael, Yes, I have been trying to do that for 9 months now, to no avail…. and from what I gather, the option will not be in 2.0 (Caligari, please, please, please…). It's a must have feature as I am concerned, and the only workaround I have found is to…

Frank, >I was having a gut feeling this was so, but was hoping otherwise. Perhaps in 2.0. . . . . Probably not even in 3, 4 or 5. Since trueSpace (and all modelers I know of) render 3D objects, you must start with at least the minimum object… a…

PMJI, but Mateen might want to look at available low DOS memory. His reboot crash sounds like EMM386 puking without an error code. Things to look for… Leaky video card drivers, out of date VxDs, fat TSRs… $0.02 Ian
