I had a Seagate 540 Meg. on my PAR and found the quality is better with the Micropolis 1.6 Gig. I use a Q of 23 and a block size of 220 which is what DPS recommends for my hard drive. I put the Seagate on the Amiga side.

I have a PAR and am very happy with its' output. What Q factor are you using, what software revision? Also, what hard drive and what format tape are you outputing to? I have the Micropolus 1.6 gig and software revision 2.25.
