This is true Mike, I forgot all about it and my copy is sitting right here on the desk. I haven't even had the chance to play with it yet since Siggraph. I was under the impression that Joakim was more interested in modeling trees and plants he could use…

You hit the nail on the head Tim. NT IS Windows on steroids. I have been using NT 3.51 for about 6 months now and it absolutely kicks a**. I have also been using a beta version of the 95 style interface and must admit I like it although this…
#187569 DMM vs KeyFactory? Message #187607
From: LEE STEEL Autodesk Multimedia Forum · IPAS Usage August 28, 1995 6:21 AM
One main feature in the DMM vs. Keyfactory debate would be that DMM does not limit you to the number of groups of objects and in Keyfactory you are limited to only 4. Keyfactory has several more features though which DMM does not like the preset for exploding a group…

You're right Kyle, I had jumped on line very quickly on Saturday and had intended to go into Metareyes features today but now you have saved me from that. I had never done the benchmarks as far as speed. This is very interesting news. Aren't some of these features you…

#187354 Metareyes vs Organix Message #187389
From: LEE STEEL Autodesk Multimedia Forum · IPAS Usage August 26, 1995 11:27 AM
Organix has: envelopes to control face count over time. allows user to define colors which represent fusion values. works with "refraction mapping" IPAS. will soon include "sticky mapping" making it the only routine to hold texture mapping in place while metablobs move and deform. these are a few features OrganiX…

Schreiber Instruments have a set of routines called "Immagine Nursery", also Schreiber sells Yost Group #5 "Silicon Garden". You might also call Viewpoint Datalabs and request information on AMAP. Hope this helps, Lee

Danny has included a feature to assign your own colors for fusion and YES, you can use the Metareyes assignments and files created for Metareyes work just wonderfully with Organix. Lee

Just wanted to let you know Alex, that I was using Metareyes several months (maybe a year) before I got involved with your projects or even knew of Details' OrganiX. My (personal) opinion after comparing both metaball packages is that I like Details' approach better. I'm not sure that that…
Sounds to me like your face normals are turned inward instead of pointing outward. A quick experiment to prove this theory would be to assign a 2-sided material and render. If the sides show up then you will have to either live with the 2-sided material or flip all those…

#185968 3DS MAX Message #186220
As far as I can tell, Danny's metaballs was already a better value before the addidtion of Aleksey's "sticky mapping" and now that the this new mapping is reality, I would say that there is no comparison. Anyone who wants to do serious work with metaballs will want Details "OrganiX".…

#186166 OrganiX Mapping Message #186218
From: LEE STEEL Autodesk Multimedia Forum · IPAS Usage August 21, 1995 6:06 AM
I believe that Danny's auto-mapping is automatically alligned to each face allowing mapped textures to be directly applied and not stretch along non-planar faces. As far as your viewport alignment I would say you will have to align your viewport to the particular face you wish to address. Lee

From: LEE STEEL Autodesk Multimedia Forum · IPAS Usage August 21, 1995 6:00 AM
Danny's new Metaball modeler (OrganiX) will allow you to increase and decrease the number of faces over time. He is using the Envelope code developed for LenZFX. This allows the user to have direct control, ie… less faces farther away and more faces for the close-up shots. Lee

Hi Terry, No NOT Metareyes! Danny Mercurio has just released a new metaball modeler through Digimation called OrganiX. Aleksey and his group of scientists have found a way of mapping metaballs which will lock the mapping in place (sticky mapping). I am sure you will be hearing much, much more…

You should probably look into MeshPaint by Positron. Brent usually keeps a fairly high profile here on the forum. I don't believe that Smooth actually performs a boolean operation, however it does combine the two mesh objects and this can affect mapping. For objects with apendages and difficult mapping I…
