From: Joe Wylot Amiga Tech Forum · Ramblings February 14, 1992 7:04 PM
Keith, I see you are still having problems getting Whap! running properly. It sounds as if you haven't got the current version (1.9G). Mail me your address and I will send you a copy on disk. Also, I believe you are using Dialplus which gave me no end of problems…
#48820 TwinExpress Message #49148
From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · New Amiga Users February 12, 1992 6:21 PM
> BB… have you added an I/O card on that side naturally. It was the cheapest way to get round the lack of ports on the Amiga side. I use ATcopy to move files from Amiga to BB, much better than the C= offering and uses the standard file requestor…

Michael (it's me again!) Just reread your message and I think you may have misunderstood. As well as the Bridgeboard, I also now have a PC a few feet from the Amiga. For file transfer between Amy and BB I use ATcopy/Awrite which work fine. To transfer files between the…

Michael, Thanks for the info on Ambassador. I must have missed the upload of this file – I'm off to have a look. Joe Wylot (UK) – via Whap!

From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · New Amiga Users February 3, 1992 5:11 PM
I strongly recommend that those of you who regularly transfer files between PC and Amiga have a look at Twin Express which was uploaded recently. It can be really fast, depending on your processor speeds and allows a certain amount of file management on the two machines from either machine.…

Sorry Don, I just realised that Michael replied to you by accident – and I just commented to his reply! Joe Wylot (UK) – via Whap!

> terminal software …….or have a look at Twin Express which is around here as TNXA11.LZH and TNXB11.EXE – a brilliant file transfer utility. You still need a null modem cable though. Joe Wylot (UK) – via Whap!

Diamond still advertise the trumpcard at #99.95. Phone 071 580 4355. They are big but their service is poor. Joe Wylot (UK) – via Whap!
#45560 Amiga/PC link help Message #45759

Michael, Just read your message re Keith Richards. I can cope with being shouted at – I too have a Caps Lock key . OK, email sent. I suppose I had better find the Whap! docs and refresh my memory as it is over a year now since I installed…
#45334 #Amiga/PC link help Message #45549
From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware January 7, 1992 2:31 PM
Michael, Thanks for your comments. I had thought about using the setup you describe although I hadn't thought of a TSR on the PC. I have a bridgeboard in the Amiga and use Messydos, always meant to have a look at Cross-Dos but never got around to it. Joe Wylot…
#Amiga/PC link help Message #45294
From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware January 4, 1992 5:18 PM
I have a B2000 and AT clone on my desk and would like to pass data between them. I assume I can do this manually with a null-modem cable by writing to/ reading from the serial ports but wonder if there is a more elegant software solution which would perhaps…

Gayle, Have you tried 4DOS? I have been using it since I installed the XTBB and it runs flawlessly and seems fully compatible with DOS3.3. Has many of the features of ados including command line history, editing etc. Also it takes up less memory and has some useful enhanced commands…

Great, I'm very pleased for you. I know how frustrating it is when a new card does not work properly. When I bought my GVP card, I found that the installation software would not work and I had to wait very patiently for almost a week for a replacement floppy…

Ron, Yes, that particular drive is not renowned for its speed and you certainly will not be getting the most out of your controller. I have been using a GVP II card for some time now and am more than happy with it. As far as I am aware, there…

#Convert DF1: to B: Message #39044
From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Bridgeboard/AMAX November 1, 1991 4:36 PM
Hi All, I have decided to do a spot of recabling in my 2000 to give, internally, a 51/4 drive A: and a 31/2 drive B:(presently df1:) leaving just df0: on the amiga side. As far as I can see, it is just a case of snapping an IDC connector…

Please excuse the interruption but I need a copy of the Projector from version 1 to run a program 'The Stitchery' which I downloaded recently. I gather this is freely distributable and will be eternally grateful if one of you would email me a copy of Projector to run Director…

#13175 More Thread Chaos Message #13246
From: Joe Wylot Amiga Tech Forum · Forum Business/Help August 12, 1991 4:59 PM
I'd like to second this. It's infuriating to download a long thread in which the comments bear no relationship to the subject headers. Rather than blame the Sysops though, perhaps it is up to the users of the system to show a little more thought? Joe Wylot (UK) – via…

I have Maxiplan 1.9 installed on dh0: and it runs without any problem. Info on Maxiplan Program icon shows stack set at 10000 – I don't remember altering it at any time. Have you assigned "maxiplan disk:" correctly in your startup seq? Joe – Whapping from the UK.

From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware July 9, 1991 3:40 PM
Thanks for your thought David and Bill. Perhaps it was somethig I did after all. I'll have to take more note of what goes on next time although reformatting 85mb drives is not something I want to do too regularly! Perhaps when someone gives me a scsi tape drive? Joe…

David, Once I managed to figure it out it was very efficient and created two partitions without any user interference. BUT I had some trouble getting the automatic option to run at first and kept getting a message about incompatible no of blocks/tracks/sectors vs disk size. As all I had…

From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware July 7, 1991 7:18 PM
David, Sorry if I confused you. Yes, you are quite right; the standard drive fitted in the a590 is a dreadful Western Digital XT drive. However I replaced it with a Fujitsu SCSI drive some months ago so I simply took it out of the a590 case and mounted it…
#11833 RAD:-Help! Message #11868
From: Joe Wylot Amiga Tech Forum · System Software July 6, 1991 8:26 PM
Hi Richard, Have you modified the entry for RAD: in devs/mountlist perhaps? The only reason I can think of for the Amiga trying to boot of RAD: is if BootPri has been altered. If you include the line BootPri= -129 in the mountlist entry there is no way your machine…
#26951 GVP Series II card Message #27108
From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware July 3, 1991 11:33 AM
I don't think there is a price difference anymore as dealers seem to have reduced 2000 prices since 1500 launch. Although the machines are the same, many dealers are still advertising them as if they weren't. 1500 seems to be marketed in its basic dual floppy form whereas the 2000…
#26836 GVP Series II card Message #26874
From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware July 1, 1991 3:16 PM
Yes John, it is a B2000 but commodore have simply put stickers in the relevant places proclaiming it to be an Amiga 1500. Other than that and second floppy drive as standard there is no difference – all the zorro/AT/XT etc slots are there. No great innovation but C= have…
#26734- GVP Series II card Message #26794
From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware June 30, 1991 4:16 PM
Hi Wayne, Thanks for the advice. It all makes sense now. Don't you have 1500's over there? It's simply a rebadged twin floppy B2000 which is sensibly priced (at least for the UK) and which C= seem to be shifting in huge quantities over here. It's certainly an improvement being…

From: Joe Wylot Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware June 30, 1991 4:16 PM
Thank's John for your advice. I had in fact already spent what seemed like ages backing up the drive in case so you can imagine how hacked off I was to find that the software would not run. On reflection what you say about the user manual/2090 controllers makes perfect…
