Thanks to Jeff Dobrow and David Rhoten, another problem ruthlessly disposed of.
I need a Skeleton mesh, I know there is one out there but I don't know who sells it. In the ideal world there would be medically accurate male and female meshes available, but that may be asking for too much. If anyone knows who produces a skeleton mesh can…

Discussion of my views on this subject, so as to avoid offence, are avoided by driving sharp piercing instruments into the palms of my hands (just like Micheal Caine in the 'Ipcress File'). I know nothing about the petrol bombing. Apart from that I am pretty well balanced. Gary McHale

> Thanks David. I came across Nick Manning before, he seems to be a nice guy, but I get the impression that he is neck deep in company politics. He did come up with the goods eventually when I had problems upgrading from CDK1 to CDK2. I guess he is…

Ah!! Another potential MAX user in the UK. Have you heard anything about MAX release policy in the UK, e.g. whether or not there will be an upgrade path for people prepared to commit themselves prior to the release date (as in the US)? I have tried asking Autodesk UK,…

No, no, no, I meant my comments might have been misguided. I supported your position. This is getting really confusing. I first came to your support on the issue of Forum users being able to criticise suppliers over problems that they might have had. I then got a reply from…

David, I don't know whether or not you got my comments to Anne Brown, I know this thread has got a little complicated. It was intended more in support of free speech (misguided ot not), rather than a criticism of your company. I hope that my comments were not misconstrued.…

Point taken. There have to be some standards (…I guess mine are a little on the low side as far as the profanities are concerned). Thanks for the hard work, it is appreciated. Gary McHale

Whoaaaaa, hang on a second. I am just about to insert the Win 95 CD ROM and my software bug guardian angel said "nooo, check the forum first, see if anyone is having problems", and there you are. I have the same card. Just one question, does it make any…

#167103 FLC to AVI? Message #167251
Thanks Angelo and Brian for your help. It might try using Animator Studio, I read the spec earlier this week, it looks quite powerful. "No! of course I am not buying more software darling! Its just a free upgrade". Just practicing the line. Gary M.

Thanks Brian and Jerry for your replies on converting *.FLC to *.AVI files. I just have one question. Who produces VidEdit, excuse my ignorance, I haven't heard of it before. Thanks. Gary M.

Is there a way of converting FLC format files to AVI either using an off the shelf product of a toolkit? Thanks in advance. Gary M.

You should have got a WinG SDK disk with CDK R2. If you install this, it adds the wing32.dll for you. I think. Gary M.
#165995 rendering solutions? Message #166343
I know that Rendermorphics are very keen on the GLINT processor. It is starting to appear in some graphics boards already, including one by Omnicomp. I bought one of their graphics accelerators on the back of their assertions that it is supported by Rendermorphics, and received graphics demo's from Rendermorphics…

Just for your information the company that developed Reality Lab (Rendermorphics), one of the 3D Graphics API's which supports CDK Relwase 2, have been bought out by Microsoft (whoever they are). My guess is that we will be seeing more of this product. Gary M.
Regarding R3 to R4 IPAS Toolkit Upgrade; thanks for your help Nick. I think Autodesk would lose a lot of customers if it wasn't for you guys on the Compuserve Forum. This appears to be the only channel by which we are able to get accurate and speedy replies to…
#R3 to R4 IPAS Toolkit Message #162827
I posted a message here a couple of weeks ago with a question regarding upgrades for the R3 to the R4 versions of the 3D Studio File Toolkit and the IPAS Toolkit. The reply I received was that there wasn't a R4 version of the File Toolkit, but that there…

I have the IPAS and File Toolkits for Release 3. Do Release 4 versions exist yet? Is there an upgrade path from the Release 3 versions, or will I have to pay for the new releases in full? Thanks in advance. Gary M.

HSC software are releasing a Kai Power Tool's IPAS that should be available from them direct from the 15th of February. I think that it is very reasonably priced. Their number is (805) 566 6200, I spoke to someone there called Guy McCumber (extension 6264). There are a few examples…

#151238 Glid 3D New Processor Message #151339

"Does this seem a feasible dream/goal?" Yeah!! Go for it. This is the start of a new entrepeneurial era. The equivalent of the Industrial Revolution and the Agricultural Revolution rolled into one. The opportunity of the decade to build something from scratch with a real future. From the spec, CDK2…
Finally an answer; Kevin Yurika at Autodesk US tells me that the UK office have informed him that it might be ready for shipping in a "in a couple of weeks". Thanks Kevin.

Sorry to butt in. The ISBN number for "3D Studio: Special Effects" is 1-56205-303-5. There doesn't appear to be a single author, but if its any help the publishers address is: New Riders Publishing 201 West 103rd Street, Indianaoplis, IN 46290 USA Its an excellent publication.
Hi, its me again. I seem to be making myself very unpopular with Autodesk staff trying to find out the UK release date of CDK version 2. Things are getting so bad that I am having to fax Autodesk staff Auotdesk press releases just to prove that it exists. At…
Thankyou for forwarding my question on the UK release date of CDK2.
Autodesk UK cannot tell me when CDK version 2 will be available in the UK, despite several requests. I am looking to upgrade from release 1. If I mention to them the possibility of upgrading through the US they hint at legal action. Not only will I have to pay…
