PMJI, While in 2D Shaper, do a Shape/Assign and click on your closed continental poly. Next, do a Shape/Check. Your poly will now have vertices hilighted in red; these indicate where your poly is overlapping. You must zoom into these areas and edit the vertices until poly no longer overlaps.

In addition to Greg's info, you can perform processing on images such as resolution changes (spatial & bit depth) and apply any filters you may have like KPT's. My experience is w/ the Mac side of things only. WRT which Mac to get, on our PowerPC's, it takes about 10-20…
