Thanks. Yea, a little Flame action, a little Vapor action, a little Glow & Smoke, a dash of Spirits (new little alcohol IPAS I've been working on).
Not too bad; our weather flythrus are beginning to pick up. It's good to see ya here on the forum. Anything new up your way?
Well, do I get 9 months or the conception time (I'm not saying how long )?
Thanks and a happy "Be fruitful" to you, too.
Hey, good to hear from ya. Thanks. Your singing couldn't have been that bad; she went to sleep, didn't she?
Thanks for the info; that's just too time consuming compared to the way MacCIM worked.
Thanks. I figure I'll be able to start taking it easy in about 18 yrs.
>> Just use the Map button in your thread and you can see the tree structure and jump to any particular point you want
Thanks fo the info. Sorry it took so long to respond; I was out having a baby. Well, actually _Jane_ did most the work but that's a technicality I think we get hung up on way too much in our society . He's our second little boy: Roland Harrison (no…
PMJI, Would you tell me more about autopilot, please? I can't find anything about it in any of the files. And… Let's say you're following a thread which is getting long i.e. say about 20 msgs. When I go to the filing cab., I then have to go through all…
3D Display only works w/ what is visible/unhidden in 3D Ed's active window; Keyframer is right out.

KGTV; not sure if it's NBC or what. They went online in July or beginning of Aug. Not sure; they were in test-mode for quite a while.

#No Ram for Bitmap
Message #193568
I know I've read about this before but I can't remember the sol'n. What's it mean when you get a msg when rendering that says something along the lines of "No Ram for Bitmap"?
PMJI, While in 2D Shaper, do a Shape/Assign and click on your closed continental poly. Next, do a Shape/Check. Your poly will now have vertices hilighted in red; these indicate where your poly is overlapping. You must zoom into these areas and edit the vertices until poly no longer overlaps.
Welcome to the forum, Henri. You'll be amazed at the amount of info that you can learn here by reading every msg. in the forum every day. If you want to learn 3DS, you've come to the right place.
>> Hurricanes keeping you busy?
Definitely Phong. I'm pretty sure I tried this; I'll revisit to make sure. I do have a minimal face count in all obj in this proj. Thanks.
#Visible faces
Message #190316
I know this has come up before, but…. why do the faces of the inside of my hemisphere appear when I introduce a bitmap into my material? W/o the bitmap, the faces are smooth shaded just like a good Phong mat. should be. As soon as I add my bitmap…
Sorry I missed ya before the blissfull ceremony. Here's hoping all went well, the in-laws are cool and you have a great time in the sun&sand. Congratulations.

Good one, Lee. You the author?
Knew it was in there somewhere. Thanks.
Paul, I believe the default cam. setting of 48.whatnot is as close to human perception as poss. There is a std. ht. above the grnd that arch. folks use to help w/ the illusion of human perception: about 5' 8" to 5' 10" but I'm not sure exactly. Bob R.?…
I could get ya a bigger shovel. BTW, GREAT work on MAX. Thanks.
Good one!
Good heads-up, Bob.

I'll be dipped if I can find the msg that gives your open house address. I'll be seeing you at the Sat&Sun UCLA class but I have to give the address to a coworker who'll be getting to LA on Mon. Could you please repost? Thanks.
Great work guys. Sounds like this summer's really bringing us into the game and we owe a lot to you folks. LET'S PAAHHTTAAAYYY!

#visible faces proj
Message #182499
I sent you a zipped file named Jonas.zip that contains a prj. and a tga. Would you please render fr. 10 from the cam view and explain why the hemisphere's faces are visible.
The "Bottom Line" by Gus Grubba; sounds like the makings of a good monthly column.
That's not my point; just cause you don't appreciate something doesn't make it stupid.
Do a Time/Define/Segment and make your active segment the 10 frames in question. Then do a Time/Scale/Segment and specify 15 and then hit those tutorials…
I'll ask for help from others at this stage: HELP. I haven't used them that much. I know they exist but I'll have to root around through a few HD's. So I'll start looking but hopefully someone will be able jump in sooner.
>> Do I really need that much power just to run Debabilizier?
In addition to Greg's info, you can perform processing on images such as resolution changes (spatial & bit depth) and apply any filters you may have like KPT's. My experience is w/ the Mac side of things only. WRT which Mac to get, on our PowerPC's, it takes about 10-20…

Great, I was thinking it'd probably be 30 – 60 min. Thanks.
