#Lightwave 3.5 wanted
Message #216628
if memory serves me correctly, there was someone here who was trying to sell Lightwave 3.5 for $200 (it had no upgrade capability). After much waffling (and collecting every other 3-D package) I would be interested in buying it – if still available! LS
Aladdin 4D wanted
Message #216065
Does anyone have a recent copy of Aladdin 4D to sell at a reasonable price? LS
GrabAnim wanted
Message #48504
I'm looking for a PD program called GrabAnim – it would send a DCTV screen into an anim5 file when you pushed a joystick button. LS
GrabAnim wanted
Message #48502
I'm looking for a little PD program called GrabAnim that was out a few years ago. You could push a joystick button and send a DCTV screen to an ANIM5 file in a sequence. Anyone know where I can find it? LS
That's a dang shame! One of the accelerator articles mentioned that the cache on the Pentiums are what give them the speed edge. LS
well, I have the cheap version (2.0) from CU Amiga mag. I see the ad for the more expensive one. What does it have over the earlier version that you'd recommend? BTW, are you from the UK and using it with a PAL setup? I'm just wondering if the 50…
#Kerosene '040s / '060s ?
Message #209393
I'm back again with an extension on the '060 for the A1200 topic. I read a review in a Brit mag that the Cyberstorm '060 suffers from a lack of RAM caching and needs a patch program to redirect certain math functions to the software without flushing the chip's buffer.…
Do you do video recording with the program, on PAL or NTSC? What are the "limits" you refer to? Less than 50 f/s? LS
Some have written here earlier that magic Latern 2.0 has it's own fast disk playing format for many 24-bit cards. Also, if you want it quick, down and dirty, just use DCTV. you can use rend-24 to make anim 5 DCTV frames, (with the 3 or 4 bit plane/laced or…

Software 2 go… Final Writer $40 Fighter Duel Corsair vs. Zero $15 Sculpt Animate 4D Jr. $7 Quarterback (back-p sotware only) $15 Disk Expander $20 Brilliance 1.0 (dongle-tho' not too different from 2.0) $15 Brilliance 2.0 – will trade (&throw in a little cash) for DPaintV Imagemaster (latest) $35 Hash…
I just plowed thru this string. The R-Man is always a topic that can provoke everyone! 🙂 I generally enjoy him, though I sometimes dis- agree with his opinion or his expression thereof. BUT, I can say fer shure that the way he is mischaracterized, misquoted and misrepresent- ed by…
I have a player module with it (haven't figured that one out yet, either!). I looked for the player you mentioned, in the file finder, w/ the keywords: SSA, Clarissa with no luck! LS
#Clarissa
Message #47954
Has anyone used the UK animation converter "Clarissa?" It's with the new CU Amiga mag. They don't give much instruction w/it. It's supposed to use make animations smoother and faster with a trick using the interlace mode. The instruction mention that 50 f/s can be achieved. Is this the rate…
Brilliance problems
Message #47004
I'm playing around w/Brilliance 2.0. It lets you work and save brushes/ buffer pix in 24-bit format. Yet when I load a 24-bit picture and make some frames from it and save it in the anim-save menu as separate pix using the "sequence" option, it saves the animation as individual…
#Amiga Worlds wanted

Does anyone have some relatively recent AmigaWorlds (esp. ones on graphics) & video) that they wish to unload CHEEP?

monitor wanted
Message #197149
Does anybody have a monitor to sell that'll work with an AGA 1200 and also take composite?
I'm going to have to look at my copy of Magic Latern again, I just don't recall seeing DCTV mentioned explicitly. I know it compiles individual frames from any Amiga format.
playmation
Message #46815
Is anyone familiar with Playmation? I have what I think is the oldest version. I understand they came out with version 1.46(?). How different was that? I know Hash Inc. dropped Playmation this year, and the Amiga (it's own springboard) as well! I downloaded some FLCs from their FTP site…
MOREOVER, I discovered that the maker of ML came out with an UPDATED version. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll support DCTV, which is my next obsession to come. 🙂
Magic Lantern take frames (and anims?) and compiles them into animations. It has a native DIFF format, that they claim will play anims with more consistant timing. You can also add sound and play your anims (with many different drivers and boards) from your hard drive.
Very interesting…I came on to this section for the first time to post about items in a MAC Zone catalog. Specifically, the Power Clips and Acceleration Kits that attach to the Motorola chip families and promise 20%-40% faster performance. Moreover, I downloaded from the net a posting about cutting the…
I'm very interested in the DCTV. Check your mail. L.Smart (71544,1454)
Swapping HDs/DOSs
Message #195507
Here's a beginners question. My friend runs a Toaster on a 2500. No PAR, no frame controller-in short, no LW animation. I was thinking of buying a 50mhz 1200 with a fast, separate SCSI drive and converting the LW 24- bit frames over to the AGA machine (using Rend24, Magic…
give me your address and I'm zip it along!
Does the PAR have it's own NTSC output? Is there only one manufacturer of them?
What exactly does a PAR do? Compress frames? Does it directly output to a VDR and/or display? Do they all need card slots (ie, not a hot- rodded 1200)?
nope, just plain vanilla 32 low-res, circa 1987-88.
The thing comes with two disks, spiral-bound manual, probably weighs less than a pound. Again, It's ONLY in low-res,no overscan!
what's the access time on that thang?!
#24 bit in Brilliance
Message #46692
I want to use Brilliance to load and edit Toaster/Lightwave 24 bit images and kmock them down to HAM 8 or 5 animations. I looked over a 1200 with a GVP 40 Mhz board and 4 megs of fast ram (for a total of 6 megs) When I load Brilliance…
that does it!!! I'll stick with Brilliance! 🙂
I thought I read an earlier posting where you said you were out-of-the- country! 🙂
you can have mine for $10! (shipping may be a problem 🙂 ). It's too bad it didn't have more pro resolution, but the designer and companies said "no dice."
Zoetrope (and the earlier Cyber Paint on the ST), IMHO, had the most carefully thought-out & useful interface ever for a low-end animation system. They were created by Jim Kent, the genuis who wrote Aegis Animator, and contributed to Targa Tips. He took some of the same concepts to where…
Does anyone know how to get the animation-slider bar in DPaint IV into the screen in hi-res overscan? Also, how do you move the tools strip over to the left more? left more? Do these problems occur in DPaintV? (For all the praise this program and Brilliance get, they don't…
I have a Toaster, but no frame controller, no AGA set and no '040… hence, no realtime animation from Lightwave Frames/RGBs/ANIMS. I read that "Magic Latern" will blow animated frames through the Retina, Picasso and other cards…is there anything that will convert and /or play Lightwave stuff throught the Toaster…
