The CDU-8002 isn't supported by many CD-ROM drivers. You can get the new Future Domain ASPI driver called Power SCSI from their BBS, then the Trantor SCSIworks! package for $89 that contains, among many other pieces of software, ASPI CD-ROM drivers that support the CD-ROM 150 drive on the PC.

The Trantor T130 with version 3.x drivers fully supports all the modes of the Toshiba 3401. The drivers are fine for DOS and Windows. You should check to see you have your SCSI chain properly terminated.
You can run any number of SCSI cards and drivers together. There shouldn't be any problem at all.

Macintosh drivers don't 'convert to DOS'. What happens is that you can read standard ISO9660 discs on your Mac. You still won't be able to run IBM programs on the Mac, though. That requires a different CPU or an emulator program.
The Trantor CD-295 driver may do the job. I've never heard of a LI3300 drive, though. Are you sure it isn't a standard XM3301 drive in a box?
Under DOS, you can use the Trantor CD-295 driver for the internal IBM SCSI adapter. It supports most CD-ROM drives and handles Kodak Photo CD support, too. List price is $59. 510-770-1400 for the Trantor sales line.
You can always buy a Trantor T130 SCSI card complete with the SCSIworks! package that supports the Toshiba 3401 drive. It lists complete with the software package for $99.

What kind of information do you need? The CDR-77 is a first generation drive. It uses a proprietary caddy and is pretty slow by today's standards. NEC may even be able to help you… I think they still caddys for the CDR-77.

If they say you *must* use that interface, then they have written their driver to directly access that interface hardware. No other interface will work. Too bad it wasn't written for ASPI (the Advanced SCSI Programming Interface), then it would work with just about all SCSI cards!
The Sony Laser Library upgrade kit consists of a set of jumpers and a new device driver to add read-ahead cache and Photo CD single session compatiblity. It works ONLY on the Sony cards, not on any of the non-Sonly OEM cards.

The CD-ROM drivers you need come from MediaVision, not NEC. You will need to contact MediaVision to get them.
I don't know if the 3401 will work with the current driver. It hasn't been tested yet in that configuration.
You should be able to run the SCSITEST program supplied with the PAS CD-ROM driver to see if the drive is being recognized. If that doesn't show the inquiry information for the CDR-74, then you may have something as simple as a cabling problem.
For PhotoCD support with Toshiba drives you need Trantor drivers version 1.46g or later. For Multi-Session Photo CD support, you need drivers that are not yet released. Release is expected in the next couple of weeks.
Future PAS CD-ROM drivers will usually support all previous drives as well as adding support for newer drives. Does that make sense?

Yes, you can buy a SyDos drive, but then you can't daisy-chain any other devices to it! With the T348 MiniSCSI Plus, you buy into a complete solution for multiple devices on your parallel port. Trantor supports just about any SCSI device through our support of ASPI.
