If you've downloaded the program LHARC.EXE from library 5, you can type the command: copy LHARC.EXE DF0:c/LHARC and that will copy the LHARC program to your command directory. You can use it just like any other archiving program. If you're unfamiliar with how to use LHARC (or ARC, ZOO, and…

If you take a look at the Baud Bandit documentation, I'm sure there is a section that discusses how to set up the program to upload/download programs using one of the protocols you mentioned (xmodem, ymodem or zmodem). The best one to use here on CompuServe is CIS B+ protocol.…

From: Steve Pietrowicz Amiga Tech Forum · System Software February 3, 1991 10:18 AM
For AT&T systems, that is correct. It's the same way on our systems at work. Folks that have used BSD UNIX know that program as "rsh". It's also called "rsh" on the Amiga TCP/IP distribution. (I really hate the fact that they (AT&T) named it that way, but I guess…

You can get them from library 5 here in AmigaUser. LHARC.EXE (for .LZH files), ARC.EXE (for .ARC files), and ZOO.EXE (for .ZOO files) are all there. If you've never used programs like this, you might want to download ARCHLP.EXE. It's a tutorial on how to use those programs. It's also…

I know we're talking about Amiga stuff and not about UNIX. You asked what rlogin and telnet give you that rsh doesn't, so I told you. 🙂 The original rsh program doesn't let you mess with tty's across networks. Like I said, it's easy enough to fix, but no one…

I haven't heard of that program for the Amiga…but perhaps someone else here has. Versions of KickStart refer to versions of the operating system. Since you have an Amiga 500, you should have version 1.3…so you're "safe" if you buy those programs. Steve
