From: Barry Munkasy Amiga Arts · Videophile November 28, 1988 11:00 PM
Thanks for the info. What is the price differential between Sculpt-Animate and 4D? Somehow I'm going to decide on a 3D package. I've asked a lot of people and read AmigaWorld and Amazing Computing concerning the subject and they really haven't helped too much. I really haven't heard anyone call…
#6534- Fashion design software Message #6759
From: Barry Munkasy Amiga Arts · Talk to the Trade November 24, 1988 12:51 AM
I too would like a program like this. I've thought about trying to develop it but have been overwhelmed when I thought about the programing necessary. As a start, figures are starting to be produced commercially. Comicsetter figures and Antic Software's 3-D Human Design Disk hopefully are a start of…

Thanks for the info. What program were you comparing 4-D to, Sculpt 3-D? Do you have any experience with other 3-D programs? Anything else you can say to a future 3-D consumer would be very valuable.

Thanks for the opinion. This is the kind of help I'm looking for. Have you tried animate 3-d for your renderings? Is it too slow or doesn't provide necessary tools? Do you think sculpt's editor is better than Modeler 3D?

I really need some advice. I want to get into 3-D drawing and animation. What package or packages should I buy? What programs would make a good foundation? If someone would ask me a similar question concerning paint packages I would start off with DeluxePaint II and then either recommend…
#126908- Terrible upgrade policy Message #127185
From: Barry Munkasy Forum unknown · Talk to the Trade May 29, 1988 12:24 AM
I've been considering it but I want to hear some reviews before I send any money. I've taken too much of a beating buying products that didn't live up to their advertising and my expectations (VizaWrite to name another). My future software policy will probably be to "borrow a friends…

From: Barry Munkasy The Amiga Forum · Hardware February 29, 1988 12:26 AM
The best I can do for you is the P5XL. The print is fantastic, but everything is limited to what the software will do. Most programs, such as Pagesetter do not take full advantage because of the way Workbench was written. Hopefully that'll improve with version 1.3. As far as…
#110307- #Pagesetter-thin lines Message #110448
From: Barry Munkasy Forum unknown · Amiga at Work February 23, 1988 12:27 AM
It may be a problem with the driver, but I also think it has to do with the lousy support GoldDisk has given the buyers of their package. They've know about the problem for a long time and have never released an updated version to take care of the problem.…

I own the NEC P5XL and like it. However, if you're really interested in good color, as opposed to what you'll get on any dot matrix the way to go seems to be ink jet like the Xerox 4020.

I have just recently received information regarding my opportunity to upgrade my Pagesetter to Professional Pagesetter. Though I appreciate how much you must have worked to produce PP I am disappointed that you have not properly supported the original version which I bought when it first came out. I have…

During the past few monthwavered about upgrading to the 2000. I decided that I didn't have enough money and I didn't see the relative value of the upgrade. But, in the last couple of days I have found out that I'm going to be doing a lot of work on…

I'm going to grad school at ASU and would like some information on reputable dealers in Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa etc. In addition, I woulike to join any user group that is in the area. I won't have a transportation except for my feet, bicycle, and city transportation, so exact…

Another way to reduce flicker is to modify the colors in preferences. I recommend (from AMIGAWORLD) Color 1 (0,4,6) Color 2 (0,0,0) Color 3 (0,0,9) and Co4 (15,0,0). Barry
Graphics Print Message #93054
From: Barry Munkasy The Amiga Forum · Videophile November 11, 1987 11:24 PM
Not as it seems to me. When I resize a picture I lose some detail that I don't lose when I print out. As an example make a line box of a large size on the screen, make it a brush and half it. Depending on the size of the…

Can you give me the name, phone number and address of your dealer. Maybe I can get a raincheck or at least show my local dealers this promotion and convince them to do it. It's a wonder with all the science and technology that Commodore represents that they don't understand…

My pictures are too large to have them on the screen at the same time. I have found that when you resize a brush in DP you lose detail, wheprint it out with a change of settings this isn't what happens. The dots become smaller but I don't lose dots…

Don, Maybe I don't understand but that doesn't quite do it. Let me try to explain what I'm trying to do. I have a picture in Dpaint II in Hi-res when I print it out on my NEC P5XL I set my left margin to 1 and the right margin…

From: Barry Munkasy The Amiga Forum · Hardware November 4, 1987 10:40 AM
I own the NEC P5XL and love it. The print quality is fantastic and the graphics print is good. The color print is good for dot matrix but overall, compared to Xerox, isn't the greatest. Print speed for text is fast but is slow for B&W graphics probably due to…

Dennis, I have the NEC P5XL and love it. The color isn't as good as the Xerox 4020 or even perhaps the Oki 20 but the combination of the print quality and speed, and color is fantastic BAM BAM

DON, I hope what you say isn't true. Down here in Miami all three local Amiga stores have not had any 1.2's. I've got to believe that at least one of them ordered it on time, but we always seem to be the last to get anything. I guess I'll…

#23298- #Monitors & Flicker Message #23483
From: Barry Munkasy The Amiga Forum · Amiga at Work June 19, 1986 5:09 PM
At a recent users meeting I was told that a -persistance monitors' disadvantage is that it has a ghost problem with movement. Does this mean that animation would smear with a HP monitor or when scrolling text? If so, this makes 640×400 almost useless unless one writes or draws with…
