Patrick, once again. since i BUY from distributors and I KNOW the prices, PP&S dropped the prices on ****ALL**** of their products. If a certain mail-order firm doesn't, either they have money invested in products the purchased thru the dist. channel at the higher prices, or they're thieves. If you…
uh, patrick, BEFORE you run your mouth at Steve, why don't you get the LATEST(april) AmigaWorld, or even call PP & S. you'll see that you are full of it, and that PP &S has had a DRAMATIC price reduction. Tony

Kinda'..System 7 doesn't work on mine, so i'm gonna get System 6.x.x today from my buddy, with the Apple Dealer. He gave me a few programs to try. Older version of Excel, older version of TypeStyler, etc…I just wanted to take a look at some of the Comm. Mac software.…

Amax & HardFrame2000
Message #50295
say….what's up with an Amax driver for the HardFrame2000? I guess i'm beginning to learn, after all my trials and tribulations, why most people tell me they USED to have a HardFrame2000! it's the *ONLY* HD Controller that doesn't have an Amax driver on the Amax disk! heck! even the…
hmmmm….if you can come down a little more, mebbe…..got any 32-bit RAM with it? From memory World, the 33mHz MMR, with the '882/50 is like $600 brand new. Tony
wanna trade your de-interlacer for a 2.5" 60MB IDE Western Digital Hard disk? Darn thing is gathering dust here. bought in oct. 27th, used 20 minutes to test it. Still has like 9-10 mos. warranty left. Any interest? and, gee! ya don't have to experiment, 'cuz it's a 2.5" IDE!…
yeah….I have 7 maxtors, and (now) 1 Q. all my maxtor's are LXTxxx series i don't have any of the LoProfile Maxtor's yet (i've installed some, but don't own any yet.) well, 6 LXT maxtor's. the 7th is a PS-17S 1.7GB SCSI (5 1/4", full ht., SCSI-II) Tony
If anyone needs a 60MB 2.5" IDE HD, I have one that's just sitting here gather- ing dust. i got it 'cuz my sister said she needed one, then the deal fell thru (her buying the PC) so, I gotta dump it. It also has the kit to use it…
Well, now it seems, that no matter WHAT I do, or HOW long I wait, the seagate always comes up as DH1:???? on the WB ( Ihave ROM 2.04, OS2.2). I tried what you said: HF2000 is ID7, Quantum is ID0, seagate is ID6, and the Q is NOW getting…
where's they get the SCSI I/F for the A1200? LPS are SCSI, no? you want to trade your A2000 deinterlacer for a 52MB Hard Disk? Tony
well….NOW when i turned on the machine, it says my volume HARDDISK (the Quantum LPS105S, SCSI device 0) is unvalidated. the last time it was turned off, it was turned off properly…what gives? how can it be fixed? anything I can D?L from the Amiga forums to correct this? Tony
Hmmmm…..(thnking)…..can't remember any SCSI's you can't low-level….only **SOME** IDE's can't be low-levelled, because the manufacturer didn't WANT them to be able to, so they kinda' "hacked" the command for low-levelling. It is POSSIBLE, but, normal low-levellers won't be able to. For example, on the seagate BBS, I beleive they have…
uh…i musta typo'd on that last message..>SCSI uses a 50 pin cable
the way you tell if it's an IDE, is that it has a single, 40-pin cable. SCSI drives use a 15-pin cable, and MFM, RLL, and ESDI drives use 2 cable: a 20-pin cable for data, and a 34-pin (same width as floppy cable) cable for control. Tony

_4~?~?~?~RE: HardFrame2000 I have an A2000, Rev 4.4 M/B. I have an HF2000, Rev 1.9 ROM, with a Quantum M{?~?~?~?~LPs 105S as Device 0. I want to put a seagate ST296N 80.9MB SCSI drive in the system. It is set for device 1. I have a few problems. #1) the…
well….I got a line on a G-Force 030 for $300 thanks, Tony
hmmm….kinda' rich for my blood…looking for a used one around the $300 range! Thanks, though! 'ppreciate the response! BTW, I'll keep the Quantum a while and see what happens…as i said before, most of my Q experience has been with their IDE's and PeeCee's Tony
ok. lemme get this straight. the ROM's I have are from a MAC 512K Logic Board. I MUST use 27512? they won't fit on 27256? (in other words, are they 64K ROM's each?)? I just don't know which EPROM's to put them onto! 27256 or 27512? Again…the from a MA…
well…so far, they'r epretty much equivalent, except whn we get to the larger maxtor's…they have large cache's on-board (128k, or 256K) but, all in all, performance is equivalent. anyway, I'd rather sacrifice 2-7% performance, for a drive that I ***KNOW*** will be reliable. unfortunately I've had bad experiences with some…
well, the ROM burner I have is for my IBM…it handles up to a 27512 chip (the latest AMI BIOS for clone boards are on a single 27512 chip. to know the "k" of a 27xxx chip, divide the numbers AFTER the 27 by 8, because they are xK x…
#030 accel wanted
Message #84638
Wanted: Accelerator need an '030/16 and up 68881 ideal, but not needed. NEEDS to have 32-bit ram support. also looking at the CBM A2630 reply with prices(reasonable) Tony
well, If we're giving PERSONAL opinions, my vote DEFINITELY has to go toward Maxtor. I own (currently) 7 Maxtor hard drives, none under 213MB. Some are SCSI, some are IDE, and 1 is ESDI. I have a 213MB that is going on 3 years old, used 24 hours a day,…
yeah….well, that all goes down into time wasted exchanging stuff. ROM's are no longer sold like that (what my dealer told me – he's a personal friend). look at it, also, as, would you do the same thing with software? easier to send yours back to lotus, WP, etc…? you…
Hmmm…the ROM's I have, are 342-0220-b, and 342-0221-b and these came out of a MAC 512K (512K soldered on logic board,68000, no scsi) know what those ROM's are? Tony\
well, it's for backup purposes. I don't want to risk the ONLY set I have, as I also backup all my software. Archival backups *ARE* legal, BTW. Tony
