PLUG-IN FILTERS
Message #178560
I need your HELP! I have bought a bucket of plug-ins for Premiere/Razor-pro/Video Action Pro etc.. to use with my PAR. These include Gallery effects Volume 1 (v1.5) and Volume 2. I cannot get Razor Pro OR Premiere to recognize the Volume 1 effects (.ERR). Does anyone know any tricks.…
Yes. Yes and Yes. I use a 5 Gig Exabyte drive… I prefer not to use tapedisk when doing a full system backup because when you use a dedicated backup system like COREL's or CENTRAL POINT..it saves the files as one huge 'thing'. DAT's and Tapes are real slow at…
See my other reply for the tel #. Hope it works out for you. SK.
Tapedisk is authored by: Tapedisk corporation. 1-414-231-3333. It supports most SCSI tapedrives including the Exabyte 8500 as well as quite a few DAT drives.
>>This sounds really interesting. Is this Tape Store a DOS program? Could it be used in a Video Post batch file to backup the just rendered frame to tape?
Cool. Thanks much for the advice….. Just got a new Pentium 90 so Lightwave is shelved! I haven't seen the tape (I don't think) so I'll send an SAE. Now if I can persuade the firm to buy me a PAR or a Matrox Express I'll be a happy camper.…

I'm trying to create a pretty cliched space scene, with moving stars (a la the starfield in ani pro) and cute gases and evolving galaxies etc.. ec.. I bought the Vortex IPAS a few months ago..bu haven't been able to get anything very attractive produced. Any ideas on each of…

#Abekas drivers.
Message #85149
I bought your Amiga and PC abekas driver software a year or so ago. They are limited to 720*486. Have you any upgrades that'll allow 756*486 or the like…or indeed any updates at all…preferably a Windows version that doesn't use the awful Win32S!!! Also, scaling isn't supported in my version.…
The commercial version of CrossDos does indeed allow Amiga's to read PC cartridges…..In fact I have the 'PC' I'm woring on now, is connected to a dual 1500 Bernouilli which in turn is connected to my Amiga 4000…it's naughty and probably dangerous, but so long as both machines aren't accessing…

#Is 3D Studio good?
Message #83683
Like any powerful, complex piece of s/w 3D studio takes a while to learn…but IMHO once mastered its miles more flexible than LW (which is also pretty impressive). 3D Studios device independance (I use 1600*1200 on a 20" monitor) puts lightwaves tiny, fixed screen to shame and its open ended…
#PAR QUESTIONS!
Message #82396
Since it seems that this entire Forum has become PAR converts I have two questions : (1) If you record an Anim to the PAR drive, and then load individual frames back to the Amiga side, process them and write them back : a) How much quality is lost (…

I had terrible problems with residual noise from colorbars. When I switched to striping with black burst output all the problems( and funnily enough a bunch of jitter) disappeared. SK.

#Syquest PC/MAC exchange?
Message #71179
The Amiga will read and write syquest drives, so long as you have a SCSI interface. The Amiga will also read and write DOS FORMATTED Syquests, so long as your using CROSS-DOS or Workbench 3.0. The Mac will read and write Dos formatted syquests if you use a utility like…
Thanks for the reply, its not a bad set of ideas..but imagine a hand in front of a blue background. There are three 'objects'. The background, the hand, and the shadow of the hand. I need to eliminate the background completely. Compositie the shadow onto the new background and leave…
Hi Gus, Your name was suggested to me by one of the 3DS junkies…maybe you can shed light on a problem I'm trying to crack. I have shot some footage of a man standing against a *Blue Screen* and on a Blue Floor…I want to Chromakey out the screen and…
Thanks for the thoughts John…I do, of course have one last ssolution : The D-I-Y solution! If I can figure out the logic, I'll write a little program that reads the targa's and replaces pixels based on a logic set…now if only someone can tell me the logic set! SK…
OK..this is the intent : I have a video segment (300-600 frames) that I've captured as sequential TGA's. The video is of a man against a blue chroma background. As the man walks around you can see a dark shadow against the floor and against the back wall (all blue…
See my Reply to John. (I wish it were as simple as that, but that doesn't seem to work. I have tried copying the Blue to channel to be an Alpha Channel..but it doesn't work very well). SK.
mmmh, your response is certainly true..but consider this problem : I have 300 frames of a Man against a blue background. Bacuase of lighting and camera resolution etc..the Background *IS NOT* a constant RGB value. I want to Composite the man onto another image. What I do know is that…

STANDALONE LIGHTWAVE?
Message #37618
I entered this thread a month late..but still. Interchange plus is gloriously impressive product. I don't consider it shady. However, when abused it can aid piracy! #Exabyte Driver – WOW!!!!
Message #64456
How about if I decide I can live without the Abekas support. ie Let me save 756*482…*wo* scaling, and I'll just use it between DOS and Amiga platforms when I'm in that mode. Also…there was nothing in your message about a command line mode. (For the DOS/WINDOWS version). SK.

Exabyte Driver – WOW!!!!
Message #64455
>>>So from what you are saying the drive would not be compatible with anyone else's Exabyte unless they had the software?
>> No, the output is *not* Abekas compatable. this refers to the Tapedisk software driver (see prev. msg). Because it formats the dirve in its own way..so that Dos sees it as just another drive (albeit a colossal one)…the Abekas would have no way of deciphering the contents. You need…
The *amazing* tapedisk driver…- it let's you treat your Exabyte (and other) Tape Drive as a Dos device…kinda like a 5Gig worm drive. Hey, I bought your drivers and have the follwoing questions…: (1) Is there a dos version that I can call from 3D studio. (2) I want to…
No, the output is *not* Abekas compatable. It's a set of software drivers…hope that helps.
