Richard, > Why couldn't you employ a mac emulator in your A2000? Probably for the same reasons that you're not running Windows on your Amiga (or are you?) I had asked about it on a local BBS and got messages like, "Good luck finding the ROMs," and telling me that…
I'm glad you got them! Hope they help you out. I finally traded my A2000HD for a Mac. Sad, I had Amigas for so long (since '85), but my business's demanded more flexibility and the Macs are filling their needs. I STILL don't have to use Windows!!! Thanks. -Tim

I would appreciate the info about the 2620's w/ 020 & RAM. How much would that cost as opposed to an 030? I'm trying to trade my Amiga for an older Mac and the person is very interested in Lightwave. Thanks for your reply. -Tim
#Lightwave 3D ???
Message #164225
I would like to know what the System requirements are for using Lightwave 3D. I have an A2000HD (68000) w/2.04 and 2.5 Megs of RAM. Will it need anything else to run?
At this time, I would rather sell the whole package. If I can't sell the whole system, I'll still use it. -Tim
How about $40 plus shipping for the lot.

Message #157471
I have a Deskwriter 560C hooked up to a Mac Quadra and I think it's awesome. The text is 600dpi so it's laser-like in quality and the graphics look pretty goo, too. Tim
Thanks for your reply. Tim
Steven, Thanks for the detailed reply about amax emulation. Tim

Message #155402
Bob, I'm curious as to how much memory is required on the Amiga to run Amax. Also, is there a speed tradeoff in emulation? Thanks, Tim
Dale, Thanks again. This'll save me from uploading Amiga files I need to a BBS and then downloading them onto the Mac. Great! Tim
Dale,
Dale, Thanks for the information. I'll have to look into both options. Tim
#Amiga / Mac Connection
Message #149778
I have a two questions: 1) Is it possible to network an Amiga and a Macintosh together? 2) Is there a cable hook-up that will allow me to download files off the Amiga onto the Mac? I am using an Amiga 2000HD and a Mac Quadra 650 if that helps.

IFF to GIF ???
Message #55374
I would like to know if it is possible to convert an IFF picture into a GIF picture. For example, if I digitize a picture and wish to upload it to a Forum that is not Amiga specific, how would I do this? Thank you for any help. – Tim

I'm not an authority but, I thought that IBM's XT didn't come out 'til quite a bit later than there original IBM PC's.

I own a movie theater and have to keep a daily account for the box office and vending. I need to make a seperate weekly account for my film broker which he sends on to the movie company. With that information, I can set up SBPro4 to do many kinds…
Pat, I am in the same boat. I sent in my registration and still have not received an upgrade. Tim O'Connor
Betty, I extend you my sympathy and my prayers. Tim
You're better off buying it from a reputable dealer. Mine was 10 bucks cheaper and came wrapped in "Commodore Rainbows." In other words, the REAL product is less than the one you have doubts about! Tim
Andy, Thanks for the advice. Tim.

Andy, Bravo! It appears that 2.04 for "the rest of us" (2000 users) was well worth the wait! Well done. As the Getting Started booklet claims, "It's like getting a new computer." I have 2 minor questions to ask. 1) Is there any advantage for a 2000HD user to Install…
My dealer in Illinois said today that Commodore issued a statement to dealers telling them delivery would be in November. The price, he was guessing, for the ROM and extras would be around $99.

Could the rumor be just that… a rumor?! There were alot of layoffs at CBM and for a disgruntled employee, this would be a good way to stir things up as you can see by the replies here. (Just a thought.) Tim
How 'bout "Gremlin Board".
CBU hit 9.5 midday today, don't know how it's going to close, though! I wouldn't sell the house, but there's room to move if you have a couple bucks lying around (IMHO, of course!)
Totally unrelated and less exciting tidbit… "The Rachel Papers," being shown on Cinemax this month, shows the main character at his desk a number of times with an A500 being used. It also features Ione Skye sans clothing a number of times! Of course I watched it to see the…

Sorry, I heard wrong. Thanks for clarifying that. I still think Commodore's a good buy, especially with the addition of Nolan Bushnell! It looks like CBM's getting ready to crank out some hot programs on it's own. Tim
Thanks for the advice. I already own! I just thought that with the Amiga trade up offer, now would be a good time to increase. I hear that CBM cleared out a lot (c.7000) machines and built up their depleted inventory of A1000 parts with the trade ins. I figured…
