I solved my problem with the Viper and Toolbook 🙂 The answer was as simple as turning off the Viper's Turbo Palatte setting. I'm now happily running Nautilus/Toolbook at 1024x768x256 using the Viper's blistering speed 🙂 Thanx Peter Szymonik p.s. Next question – where do I find my Subscriber Info…

Surprise, the Viper drivers work fine. 🙂 I found the answer to my problem – its as simple as turning off the Viper's Turbo Palette. I'm now happily running Nautilus at 1024x768x256 using the Viper's incredible Windows speed. Peter

Well, surprise: there are lots of folks having problems with "the latest drivers" from Diamond. They apparently haven't done a very good job with the Viper's drivers, I'm sorry to say. I monitor this forum daily (although I am not a Nautilus employee), and I see a message from someone…

Peter, GPFs indicate an incompatibility between your video card driver and ToolBook. Are you running in a high number of colors? If so, try lowering them to 256 or lowering the resolution to 640×480 or 800×600. Also, have you updated your video card drivers lately? If not, you might want…

Hi Peter. The problem you are experiencing is caused by a conflict between ToolBook, Windows, and the video card drivers. If an application performs correctly with one driver but doesn't with another, it is highly likely that the problem is with the driver. Have you updated the drivers recently? We…

I'm having a fatal problem with Nautilus on my new Zeos 486DX2-66 system. The system uses a Viper VLB video card, and no matter what I do, I get GPFs when running Nautilus – and the error messages points to Toolbook as the cause. I run at 1024{x768 and I…

For what it's worth, I've tested many video cards in conjunction with a book I wrote (Multimedia Madness), and Diamond's drivers were problematic more than anyone else (including ATI). Those drivers could be the problem, and probably are judging from the "s316.drv" portion of the GPF message. Ron
