>> BTW is there any special procedures to installing memory, or do you just plug in the new boards and turn on your computer?
>>that is more optimised for my needs. I will undoubtedly upgrade to ImagineX.X or maybe AM by hash.

I will reread my magazines tonight and find out if it comes with a freely distributable player. Jason
Jason, I may be wrong, but from what I understand, SMACKER uses a compression format that they developed. To use that format you have to buy thier software. I don't believe they made this format available in the public domain, so you need to buy their software to use it.…
I have only read 2 reviews of Smacker, so don't know much about it. This may sound dum, but what is a proprietary formatted anim? Jason
#9695 stereolithography? Message #9866
I have the mesges, I want to send the IGES for output for a sculpture…
>> But, will it do everything POV 3.0 is supposedly going to do, > can it do the things (like for example brush-tacking) that Imagine does but POV can't? > So, it is hard to generalize, but I was trying to give the original poster a vague idea to answer…
>> >> I think that POv is a lot easier to use under memory restrictions like this, but you'll find the modelers available for it to be pretty restricted after using Imagine. Anyways what I was going to say is you can't really say Imagine or pov has better textures,…
Jason, Doesn't SMACKER produce a proprietary formatted anim? -GreG
Another way to compress flics is with a program called Smacker. It is made entirly for compressing 8-bit animations. It can compress animations with a ratio of 12:1 without any loss in quality! Also it allows real-time decompression. A 24-bit windows version is in the works now. Just thought I'd…
>> as far as uploading Flics/AVIs do you have any recomendations on how to keep the file size as small as possible without any/minimal loss of quality?
Hey greg < I'd recommend you at least Upgrade to Imagine L/T, which comes on CD for $99.00.> Yea I read somewhere in the threds about L/T it seems like a pretty good deal One more question, (for now) as far as uploading Flics/AVIs do you have any recomendations on…
Todd, >>Will ISL or any other utilities/add ons work with 2.0 ? Where can I dnload these items ? If you are on an Amiga, look on Aminet for version 2.0 of ISL. That one supports Imagine 2.0. The first PC version of ISL was 3.0, so I can't help…
Howdy Todd, Nice to meet you and have you here. You can use objects in 2.0 that were created in 3.0 and above, but you will not be able to access any of the imbedded STATES that may be in these objects. Also, I believe that subgroups defined in 3.1/3.2…
Ah! Mr GreG Hello, and great to meet you! You seem to be a very wise individual when it comes to 3d, animation, Imagine etc.. as I have seen in this forum," as well as others" by your many contributions. Now that I have you all buttered up, it is…

Does anyone know of ANYWHERE where I can get an output of a 3d mesh via stereolithography? (Where you zap a vat of polymer with an excimer laser til you get the volumes?) Pat
ANIMATION MODELS Message #9582
I am looking for 3d models of vehicle suspension systems. I am using Crystal Topas to animate the models so I am limited in the file types I can use. If anyone has suspension models or would like to create the models for a price, please send mail to the…

Have you put this up over in Amigauser classified ? I would think you'd be able to sell it pretty easily over there.

#9503 Super Shiny Letters Message #9549
GreG, What would be the incentive for uploading if it weren't free? Well right off the bat I can think of two – recognition and advice. I can't even think about 3.3 yet. Otherwise I'll need 72 hour days. -Joe-

#9496 #Separating Axis' Message #9509
Steve, Man are you gonna be in for an overload. Actually, since you are upgrading from LT it won't be as big an overload as it would be if you were upgrading from 2.0! Although texture/image tacking, states, and bones, 100+ textures, 12+ special effects, etc. are gonna open up…

#9495 FACEFL.ZIP Message #9500
Hi Rich, There is a second file in the Imagine library called Faceflap 2 (FCFLP2.ZIP). It shows an example of applying a map, and might answer your questions. You wrap z, using all of the compiled image from your animation. For a good fit it seems fairly important to crop…

Greg, I just ordered my Upgrade to 3.0 Pro + the constant update deal. They said they would ship me 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 tommorrow. I can't wait to see them. You say 3.3 is on the way? Alright, I love this program! I have been using trueSpace for quite…
