#Memory! Message #9468
I have a ProRam board with 32MB of 70ns ram on board. I will part with it for $900 so all you Amiga owners who need more memory can leave a message to me either here or on the internet at MANGELO@vax1.calarts.edu The board is 2 years old as I…
3.2 Message #9462
Yep, it showed… And it signals the end of my Amiga as render engine… Even with my 040 it's just too slow to render on the Amiga anymore… not to mention I was shocked that there is no support for the Picasso II…
Help! EPS to AI Message #9454
Hi, I need urgent help: how can I convert EPS files to Adobe Illustrator files or better yet, DXF files? This has got to be possible ( especially from EPS to AI). Where can I find this kind of a utility?? Please answer fast, for time is limited… Thanks!

#9338 Imagine conversions. Message #9445
Never tried it with Alchemy. I usually make my textures in Windows anyway and I use GWS to convert them to "Imagine-friendly". -David

>> Have you ever thought about moving to the U.S.? Because of Imagine??? That's really a very strong reason Usually it doesn't take that long to ship. When I sent leters to the US they usually take a week (air mail), but I guess Impulse is using a bulk rate…
#9425 Super Shiny Letters Message #9443
Joy… okay, I'll try out the ones I got, and if they're tileable, I'll post a message with their names.

#9390 #spiral nebula? Message #9437
David, I haven't looked at an astronomy book in a few years, but I seem to remember that a spiral's arm system does not wind up because of gravity waves. I believe that in the accepted theory, a system of gravity waves, like the spokes of a wagon wheel, travels…
#9328 #Separating Axis' Message #9434
Thanks Sam. This program sure is alot different from trueSpace! Both programs have their +'s. trueSpace has definitely got the interface, and Imagine kicks with features! I am seriously thinking about upgrading to the Pro version of 3.0, but I've read around here that there might be a 4.0 coming…

Jim, I've seen many of those textures, and most of them in that library are not tileable. Some are, but many are not. Regardless, it is indeed another source for texture maps. Thanks for mentioning it. -GreG

#9347 #Super Shiny Letters Message #9422
Dear Mr. GreG, (sorry, in a silly mood, ST:Voyager does that to me) Somebody uploaded 28 jpg images to the DTVForum that they thought would be appropriate for tile images in 3d modellers. They're PD, and I even grabbed a few. The looks vary from sandstone, to granite to terrazo…

#9281 #Super Shiny Letters Message #9420
Dear Joe, take a look a the chrome gears I uploaded a few days ago. What I did to achieve that effect (in 2.0) was simply use the clouds.tif image as a global reflection map. I also had the ambient lighting up around 90 or something like that (it seemed…

I just uploaded some 3D models to aminet. I uploaded a LW 3D model of a simplistic Monk object. I uploaded my BONED Gumby like Model for Imagine 3.xx and my Flintstones like car as well. They SHOULD be approved in a few days I hope. I uploaded to the…

Michael, > Now the problem … I run in to it often: > The top of your dino's head is black (0,0,0), as are parts of his eye and earhole. > They match the black (0,0,0) background so my composite shows thru these areas. WinImages F/x can fix this using…
#9390 #spiral nebula? Message #9391
David, Ummmm…what does a spiral nebula look like? If it's something that looks similar to a whirlingpool as seen from above, you can try placing the nebula.itx on a disk with several circle-sections to it, tack it to this default shape, then rotate the inner circles progressibely to "twist" the…
#spiral nebula? Message #9390
Hi, I need some advice or suggestions in general. I have to do a logo animation where the letters come out of a "nebula" (the Andromeda) and a starfield background. The nebula doesn't have to look real, but cool 🙂 Actally it should just be a spiral nebula. Since I'm…
#9324 #Stage Editor Message #9348
James, I'm sorry, the docs don't make it clear and I didn't mention the fact that frame 1 is used to maintain the relative relationships of the objects for reference that ASSOCIATION needs. Once you add all your objects, and define their ASSOCIATIONS, you need to leave frame 1 alone,…

>> Now all I have to do is find a way to use them Well Joe, if you are inclined to share them with people on the forum, I'm sure they'll come in handy and be put to some interesting uses. 🙂 -GreG
Pascal, Let me know how you make out. I know there is software to convert between TT & Type 1 fonts, but I don't know the names of them, though I think one is named "Fontagrapher." I personally haven't used them. My internet address is: greg.tsadilas@hofbbs.com -GreG

David I got my copy of 3.2 last week. Still I would like to have a chance to figure out whats new before 3.3 arrives. -ash
GreG I can't tell for sure, but I do not think that R-Amiga+R-Alt even get through to applications. You know, the Amiga must be a nice machine if Impulse is trying to duplicate it on IBM PCs. -ash
David, I take it that the current version will do conversions to Imagine-friendly tga's? GB
#9294 3.2 bug(?) Message #9336
GreG, I've got to learn some self-discipline. Sometimes I'm so anxious to start a project that I don't sit down and plan it out first. That is a big mistake. I end up wasting a lot of time due to poor planning. But I'm getting better at it. I'm used…

GreG, Thanks for the tip. I've been experimenting all day. That's why this message will be short. I'm zonked. And BTW, I've been playing with Kai's Power Tools and creating some of the weirdest textures you've ever seen. Now all I have to do is find a way to use…
Greg, thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot tonight. If it doesn't work, I'll send you the object (BTW, can I have your Internet address, it's cheaper for large files). Unfortunately, I need more than the letter "C", I'm designing some titles and logos for a Web page.…

Hi Greg, I am using Imagine 3.0 and I tried associate but I could'nt get it to work. Here's what I did. I joined a lot of the individual objects into 4 main parts. The head, upperarm, basearm and base. I loaded them one at a time into the stage…

#9291 #Key color thingy Message #9295
Key color thingy is just that, you specify a color that will be used for replacing it with another image/animation. If I had intended to do compositing, I would have rendered the animation against a unique color…one that was not part of the dino object. I don't know how AAPro…

GreG, about a million years ago, Blaq! was having a conversation with Mike H. about Impulse having removed the ability to specify a key color. I think 8^) .??? What I'm trying to do, for example, is the following: I've got your blinking dino (the cute one) and I am…

GreG Why does Imagine duplicate all these Amiga OS key actions? Left-Amiga+ Left-Alt should not be passed on to a pgm as key presses, but as Left-Mouse… Have you tried L-A+R-alt or L-A+cursor key? -ash

Sam, Those streaks you get are because of the PLANAR mapping. Only way to avoid them is to not have any bump mapping happening on the image in those areas. Either that or restrict the camera to defined supgroups. You can always use the DEBUMP.ITX texture to remove the bump-streaks.…
