Two things: I was told by a Plasmon sales person that Toast supported writing to multiple Plasmons at onec… it doesn't. There is a software only solution by 4B technologies that does work with the philips drives. Georges CD Archive, Inc. http://www.cdarchive.com
I think one thing that has done this industry no good is people in PC and Windows magazine ect writing on what should be done to make good CDs. These are writers not people in the "know" Talk to the One off Shops or CD Solutions or us (CD Archive)…

Does anybody have contacts/brands and experiences on inkjet CD printers that they would like to share?
This is the first I hear of an AV friendly IDE drive. All I have heard of are SCSI. What is your source stating that this drive is AV friendly? DON (In market for a drive also)

Don, I might also add that when you're recording several small files instead of larger ones it takes a larger buffer or you'll have the same problems. No one ever said this was easy. It's still new technology and there's a learning curve that goes along with something this new.…

I have to make a choice between a Yam 4x or a Kodak522 2x. All things being equal ( disregarding the price difference ) would you go for the Yam or the Kodak. I am particularly interested in support / reliability issues. thanks, Gav
So far my testing on the new Sony 920 has produced excellent results. My testing includes writing the CD-R to capacity and then getting all 9 error rates and analog signals off the discs as the analyzer reads the pits. It's a pretty slick unit.

Jerry, I will get either a 2 meg buffer or the SCSI AV drive. I suspect the buffer option will be somwhat cheaper in the short run. Thanks, DON
