Phil, Early versions of Dos-2-Dos would only read IBM disks. If a disk were formatted on an IBM (3.5") and then used on an ST, then Dos-2-Dos could read it. Current version of Dos-2-Dos does directly read and write ST disks. I'm not sure of the vendor's upgrade policy, though…

EDIT is not much more than SED without visible line numbers. EDIT is VERY powerful (if you know the command set), but, in no way could it be considered a 'screen editor'.

The ST is still somewhat of a viable product, especially compared to the IBMs and C128Ds that are near its price range. But it's stuck – and won't be viable for alot longer – and since it can't be fixed, it's gonna die..

Steve, I dunno – but they tend to sell for arounf $70 in green, $90.00 in amber around here… 200.00 is a lot of money compared to that. Especially considering the REST of the things you lose with an ST… like COLOR. . I've got an old green one here…
