Mark, I was able to keep my drive and board cooler by adding a second exhaust fan (there was a pre-cut hole in the back of my midtower chassis) and adding a third fan where the air intakes are at the front of my chassis, blowing parallel to all of…

#185375 Disk #6 or Bones ?? Message #185435
Gary, I don't have Slice/Skin. I agree with Mike, Bones Pro is an excellent IPAS to own. Paul S.
#185246 #Disk #6 or Bones ?? Message #185268
Gary, With Bones Pro you should be able to set a linear array of objects (bones) within your highly tesselated/gridified ribbon mesh. Set them up as a hierarchy, and bend away! The Bones act as a visible reference so you can keyframe just as if it was a multi-jointed ribbon.…

PMJI, from a thread in IPAS: >> People reviewing demo reels are looking for a few good animations, >> they don't like to watch >3 minute reels. Having sent you two different 3-4 minute reels, with some of the animation over a year old (filler), I feel a little embarrassed.…

Hi Gary, Regarding the Conner 1.2GB drives… I've been using one for quite a while, and it works great. It runs hot, but not as hot as the Microplolis drives, I've heard. I was able to edit my entire demo reel on it, about 3-4 minutes, and it takes up…

#182776 Full screen animation Message #182783
DPS is Digital Processing Systems. They make the PAR (Personal Animation Recorder) and now the PVR (Perception Video Recorder). If you do a search in the library under DPS, PAR and/or PVR you will find some detailed info about these products. Basically, they act like a VCR inside your computer.…

My deck went to Chicago first, then later to LA.. The head guy in LA (who I think you may have referred me to) *was* very helpful and attentive…, they just failed to repair the deck! So the tech support was fine, the repair support was lacking! Paul S.
Sounds like a good plan for the splash. I haven't used Vapor or Metaballs. It'd be great if you would upload a flic of the splash when you're done! Paul S.

PMJI, my experiences with the Sanyo GVR-S950 were pretty miserable for frame-by-frame recording. Lots of dropouts. Tech/repair support sucked, the unit spent a total of 2 months in different shops with no actual repair of the problem. It seemed to work fine as a regular record/playbeack deck. Paul S.

The class would be at a local tech school, two nights a week for about 2 1/2 hours each night, for about 9 weeks. Best guess for ages is 19-35. Most students will have been involved in some AutoCAD classes, taking part in a drafting program. A few might be…

"Inside 3D StudioR3" has a small section on different qualities of light… I assume it made it into the R4 version. FWIW, ray-traced shadows usually give the most realistic harsh sunlight shadows, in contrast to more diffuse, indoor shadows. Make sure your sun spotlight is very far away from the…
