Thanks again, Joel. Just one more question (I hope). What are the media sizes of the various plotters? (A size, B size, etc.) Barry
Joel, Has the Apple plotter been discontinued? I just heard that the Epson was. Do you know of any of the "inexpensive" plotters that are still made? Thanks again. Barry
Joel, Thanks for the info. I want to ask a few questions though. Your message indicates that you have both an Apple plotter and a one of the Aegis programs. If you have the plotter what do you think of it? I`ve heard both that its great and its junk.…
Thanks, Bill.
Gerber Scientific Instuments, huh? Don`t they make baby food, too? Barry
I`m a little confused by your last message. Did you say that the only one (plotter that is) worth buying was the Roland DXY-980? Or did you say forget it? Thanks. Barry
Thank you for the message. I know almost nothing about plotters, can you please tell me what "B" size is? Though I have never actually gone "plotter shopping" the only one I have ever seen advertised is the Epson HI80. Can you give me any other brand names? Does anyone…

Thanks, Ben.
Greg, Thanks for the reply-I think the 801 is the same as the 1525. It was suggested that I use a 64 Emulator for the Amiga to handle the screwy serial por fo the 64. I don`t think I`m going to bother though as I already have a working Seiksosha…

Ben, what do you mean by "stable media", as in, "if the printer could handle some stable media". A laser printer and driver sounds like a great idea, I`ve heard that dot matrix is out, how about ink-jet? (since we are talking on theoretical level at this point. Barry

Thanks again, Nick!
Thanks again, Nick!
Thanks for the reply, Nick. I`m not familiar with 64 emulators for the Amiga. Can you give me a few makers? Is it hardware, software, or both? (well, I guess it would have to include hardware). Do you know if it would be possible (with an emulator) to transfer an…

Does anyone know if the Commodore MPS 801 printer can be used with the Amiga? I think that it was originally designed for use with the C64. Barry

Gee, Ben, I`ll bet they are all fine plotters. Its just that $6200 seems like an awfull lot for an "accessory" to a $600 computer. If I were a professional PCB designer I`d probably just shrug it of as a normal business expense. But I`m a hobbyist right now and…

Hmmm, have you tried Hyberbase records.fmt or some other "thing" that might be on the disk? One other thought, you did TYPE to PRT:-not use Notepad. I found that by using notepad a lot of the text of some of the manuals was not there. How about looking for pulldown…

The Commodore 512K expansion/clock works great. What does the Skyles unit have that the Commodore doesn`t? Or is it a price advantage?

Perhaps next time you`re playing with it you can boot it from the floppy (firmy?) and/or disable the expansion (as long as you have 512K). Barry
Ben, Yesterday my Marauder II arrived. It cost $24.00 and made a deprotected copy of DMusic in about 2 minutes. Just to clarify-deprotected, not just copied so it could be installed on hard disk. This is version 1.1 of MII. I borrowed a friends version 1.0 a couple of weeks…

Well, only two comments. 1) The last review of MII that I read said that it has a utillity called "decoder"?, or something like that designed to allow installation of EA products on hard disk. 2) I just bought D music. In it there was a card offering an _unprotected_…
I`m not a programer or an expert, but I thought that re-booting the system was supposed to clear the machines memory-how can the virus be transmited? Also, should someone without the ability to look at a disk in the way you suggested run across this message will a cold reboot…

Rick, Sure, go ahead and use my name and ID if you like. It might be my only chance at "immortailty". In any case, I bought a back issue of AC and read your review of the SoundScape sampler. What I didn`t notice suprised me. You never made mention of…
Art, I`ll gladly do that. Do you know which DL it should go in? Now as for wether it`ll work on the 2000, it should, but I won`t make any promises since everything I read lead me to beleive that all the ports on the 500 and 1000 were t…

William, I`ll take a look at draw plus! Barry
Doug, Dynamic CAD was what I was thinking of. I`ll certainly look at it a lot closer now before I buy. Thanks for your opinions and if you find a CAD program that is everything you`ve ever dreamed of for the Amiga let us know! Barry
Jim, Thanks for the info. Currently I`m using Wordstar on an Epson but have been thinking about getting Word Perfect for my Amiga. Did they tell you when the updated disks would be available through dealers? Barry
Jim, Do you know of any printers that do work with Word Perfect? (properly) that is. Barry
Doug, What CAD program did you use for the Amiga? I`ve been thinking about getting one and want to know what to avoid. Barry
